Do Duracell Really Last Longer Than Other Brands?
Review of Duracell MN 1500 Alkaline by
miggmoggspud
Advantages: Last longer
Disadvantages: Cost slightly more than other batteries
...am just on my way to bed when I notice that the other set of lights have practically faded to nothing. So the test is over. Which batteries won?
***THE RESULT***
Set 1 - which ran out after almost 24 hours - these were the Everready batteries
Set 2 - lasted for around 34 hours which is a whopping 10 hours longer than the Everready.
So there you have it. I have scientifically proved that Duracell batteries do last longer than other batteries.
***ABOUT DURACELL***
Duracell batteries are easily recognised as the batteries with the copper coloured top and come in a wide range including rechargeable (AAA, AA, C, D & 9V) with speciality batteries for electrical items such as digital and SLR cameras and hearing aids.
For those who want to know a little more about Duracell and their product range:

DURACELL!! BRILLIANCE!!!
Review of Duracell MN 1500 Alkaline by
cooldude28
Advantages: Long lasting
Disadvantages: None at all!
...in this little pack. They do not take up too much space in a bag or pocket, so would be fine to carry in a bag without trouble.
The new colour coding of Duracell batteries has become popular. As al the lettered batteries like AA, and AAA, C, D, 9V, etc, Duracell has made it easy to remember names by giving each type a colour which is on the base of each battery has a colour. For example, the AA batteries have a yellow base. I find it easy with colours, but I do not find myself constantly changing the batteries to notice the colours.
The life of these batteries are exceptional. I am always using my camera and find that the Duracell batteries keep the camera running for a very long time. I am the sort of person who does not want to carry loads and loads of batteries around with me, so paying that little extra is worth it in the long run, than...

...will cost you even when buying the multitude of special offers available.
Duracell-
They are probably one of the best known brands in the market and even though their products are a little higher in price than some of their cheaper counterparts yopu get your money's worth when it comes to performance.
The package-
When you purchase the recharger you get the charger itself which will work between the 100-240v range so will be suitable to use anywhere in the world(with the correct travel adapter of course). You also get a set of AA rechargeable batteries with the package(not much use withiout these). You are also supplied with simple instructions for use, these will also give you the charge times and basic instructions on how to use the unit.

Turn Me On, Use Me Up...
Review of Duracell Alkaline Batteries by
TheChocolateLady
Advantages: Long-lasting, reliable
Disadvantages: Slightly expensive
...subconscious and into the arena of essential household items, where they belong.
As we all know, batteries can range wildly in price. But they can also range wildly in quality, as well. And true to the old adage "you get what you pay for", I've found that cheaper batteries really does mean less battery life. That's why I purchase only name-brand batteries such as Duracell. I'm willing to pay the extra pence so that when I really need it, the battery will make my appliance work exactly as I want it to.
That is, of course, the test of any battery. Will it work when its needed? Moreover, if the battery has been sitting in my kitchen drawer for a while, and the old battery has died, will the one that's been sitting around work in its place? This is one of the reasons why I like Duracell batteries. For many years now they've been printing...

Lasts ages. Just ask any bunny!
Review of Duracell MN 1500 Alkaline by
Martinscholes
Advantages: Very long lasting
Disadvantages: A little large than the average AA battery
...Duracell batteries do last a very, very long time. This is probably a somewhat rare example of a product doing what the advert says it does! Last for ages longer than any normal battery!
But that is, of course, a point to consider. Duracell lasts much longer than an ordinary battery, but does it last much longer than other Alkaline batteries made by other equally reputable firms for a little less money? Perhaps not.
However, for the jobs that I need good, dependable batteries for, I tend to only use Duracell, because it is not worth taking the chance of embarrassing battery failure, is it? And I have to say that I have never had premature battery failure with a set of Duracells. And for some applications, rechargeable batteries are unsuitable.
Duracell do have a handy battery tester built in to the battery so you can tell...

Mini Maglite AA/AAA
Review of Mini-Maglite AA by
Dave_UK
Advantages: Well built, reliable, versatile, and performs well. Makes a smart gift.
Disadvantages: none
...of their smallest offerings, cunningly entitled the 'Mini Maglite'...
>First Impressions<
-----------------------------
The Mini Maglite itself comes in two flavours - 2xAA batteries, or 2xAAA. The AAA version will be more compact, but will give correspondingly lower light output. As far as pricing goes, both units retail around the £15 mark. Although this may seem steep to you, bear in mind that this is not some cheap plastic energiser torch - it is a professional-grade piece of kit.
First impressions of this torch, as with any Mag-lite product, are very good. The unit itself is fashioned from quality aluminum alloy, making it light yet strong. There are a variety of gloss finishes, silver/black/red/blue/navy/purple/lime to name but a few, and this gives a nice selection when considering the Mag-lite as a gift. Incidentally, the product...

Help Put Pauline Fowler On The Dole
Review of Hoover AAA140 by
LostWitness
Advantages: Efficient,effective machine
Disadvantages: None
...for loads (one of the largest available on the market). All models in the range have a similar look and feel, but there are a variety of spin speeds available, which will dictate the price. The range has been designed to have an extra large door, to make loading and unloading much easier, and an angled control display fascia that makes it easy to operate. Of all the models that I looked at, the Hoover Six machines looked the most substantial – many models had very flimsy feeling doors, but the Hoover ones seemed built to last.
THE MODEL
I chose the AAA Whisper 1400 (AAA 140) model, as this offered the greatest spin speed and comparative capacity of all the models that I looked at. An ‘AAA 160’ model is available with a greater spin speed, but I didn’t see this in the stores that I visited. The machine cost me £429.10 (from Comet...

Buy shares in Duracell
Review of Fujifilm FinePix 2200 by
DrC
Advantages: High definition instant pictures
Disadvantages: Flattens Batteries
...? Well, the lens is very close to the upper left hand side of the camera so you will, initially, put your finger across it every time you pick the camera up. It also protrudes slightly so, until I bought a case, I was very worried about scratching it. Always always use the LCD screen to line up your pictures, as when looking through the viewfinder it’s easy to get the angle wrong and miss out the left hand side of the picture. Using the viewfinder also means you wipe your nose across the LCD screen!
Finally the camera eats batteries big time! I’ve never seen a set of Duracells flatten so quickly! This is not helped by the fact that when downloading pictures the camera keeps its LCD screen lit up with a USB symbol on it…why Fuji? It does nothing but waste the battery. Anyway I bought a set of rechargeables so I didn...

Uniross Ultra Fast Charger Review - Best Charger
Review of Uniross - Battery charger - 14 hr - 4xAA/AAA, 2x9V - included batteries: 4 x AA type NiMH 1300 mAh by
carrmanor
Advantages: Very fast charge times, turns off automatically.
Disadvantages: None
...can get and a pack of these alone cost £15 (Argos).
It charges either Ni-Cd or Ni-MH rechargeable batteries and either AA or AAA. You can only charge up 2 or 4 at a time. There are 2 LED's. One is green which means the charger is switched on. The other is red to mean it is charging the batteries.
Besides mains you can also charge in the car with the supplied adapter. It is also compatible in different countries as it can take power from 110-240 volts.
Most uniross chargers are units that plug straight into the socket but this is a seperate box with an adapter which I find alot better as the old ones were too big for many of my sockets because the sockets were so near the ground.
The charger looks quite good and is a dark blue. I have found no problems with this and it saves me money as I mainly use the batteries for my digital...
