...Introduction "Abba" was the band's third album, but only their second release outside Sweden. It was released in the spring of 1975 and I recall getting it as a Christmas gift that year when I was 11. I had bypassed their first album - back then I only really got albums at birthdays and Christmas and I think my brief love affair with the Rubettes overtook my desire to hear more of Abba, despite the fact I loved "Waterloo" from the minute I heard them sing it at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974. That changed in the summer of 1975 when I heard "I Do I Do I Do I Do" and "SOS". It was these singles that drew me towards this album and to this day I can still recall the beautifully photographed sleeve and bright yellow label. Good old abba

Advantages: Enduring songs
Disadvantages: few new albums

...I borrowed this cd from a friend, and got hooked to abba's songs. Though already in their forties or fifties, abba members really live up to their songs. Young and full of energy, I especially like the "dancing queen" and "waterloo" and "SOS" songs. This compilation CD in gold is worth buying if you are a abba fan. It contains all the goodies songs and bring you nostagic times when the abba were famous in the seventies. To me, abba is the best swedish team I have ever come across. I hope they would continue to make some more music for us to enjoy....

...ABBA….Thank You For The Music….. I was going to do a review on their greatest hits album but thought it would be better just to do an opinion on them as a group, who can forget Agnetha, Frida, Benny and Bjorn, the fab four of the 70’s. I love Abba, that blonde thing, not the guy, the girl. I first remember Abba when I passed my driving test, it was April 1974 and it was the Eurovision Song contest and the group that won it had these two real eyecatching babes singing a song called “Waterloo”, what a great backside that girl had. Anyway I have so many memories from our Swedish friends, I got engaged to The Dancing Queen in 1976,those words “Friday night and the lights are low, looking out for a place to go”. ...This is the first non-Abba,abba album that I bought. Agntha's tracks are more ABBA sounding whilst Frida's tend to be more of a slower tempo. This album contains some of the solo post-ABBA stuff from Agnetha and Frida. It is probably a good album to start with if you don't have any of their solo albums. It is also another reminder of when the charts had singles in them by people who could sing. Abba Funked Up

...I think it's fair to say that even the most ardent Abba fan could never claim that the band is, was, or will be, cool. But what the Swedish supergroup did manage was to create some incredibly catchy, and suprisingly technical, music, with Benny and Bjorn realising early on that success was more of a possibility if they left the fronting of the band to the less photogenically challenged Agnetha and the other one. And so the copycat cover version was spawned. Copycat beget television tribute show, and tribute show beget hugely popular stage show. What all of these dopplegangers had in common was that, in the end, they were all the same. The same songs, done the same way, but worse than originally.
