♫ A great deal happening ♫

Advantages: there is more to do and its closer to the mainland England
Disadvantages: not as well organised as the store at Liskeard

...TRAGO MILLS ---------------------- After my review on Trago Mills (Liskeard) I have decided to write about my favourite store of the three (liskeard, Newton Abbot and Falmouth). After the initial debate about whether we wanted a shopping trip down Cornwall or to Exeter and Torquay we could work out which store we really wanted to visit. In case you have not read the 'Trago Mills Liskeard' review I will give a brief introduction to the history of Trago. Trago Mills started out in the 1960's as a small shed in Liskeard, South East Cornwall. The founder Mike Robertson bought a selection of items 'up country' and sold them in this shed. The store was designed to sell cheap, affordable products to the locals of Cornwall. Mike Robertson is a well known supporter and has broken many trading laws in the past by insisting to open on Sundays...

...This review is on Trago Mills, a family themem park with shopping centre based in Devon just outside a town called Newton Abbot. This site is one out of three Trago Mills sites, the other two being in Cornwall (one at Liskeard theh other at Falmouth). In order to find this particular one, you will find it on the A38 between Plymouth and Exeter. Or rather, closer to Exeter but still on that exact same road! Look for sings to Newton Abbot, although just to confuse you all more which I know you like - there are in fact two junctions for this town. If coming from Exeter way, then it will be the first turning - of course, from Plymouth it will be the second. But never fear, as Trago is well signposted from both ways. On entering the site, there is plenty of car parking. But as this is a popular place to come to, then no doubt it will...

SUPERB PLAY EXPERIENCE EVEN FOR THE ADULTS!

Advantages: Cleansiness, service, healthy food options, seperate play areas for under 4's
Disadvantages: Sometimes waiting times at peak times

Nick Abbot - Wasted Talent

Advantages: Unique style that is interesting and funny
Disadvantages: Ummm can't think of any!

...I discovered Nick Abbot shortly before he got sacked from Virgin a few years ago for being too controversial and getting them into trouble. He has since done speech radio on the then Talk Radio and LBC in London. Speech radio is where his talent lies. He is now back on Virgin but sadly his talent is wasted as he is just playing song after song after song with one or two "one liners" thrown in per hour. He has built up a big following (check out www.nickabbot.com) and used to be very entertaining with his unique style of humour and conversation and leanings towards the "shock jock" style ... even though he hates that expression. He never had specific topics to discuss on the radio he just started chatting and allowed listeners to say what they wanted which made it more interesting. So VIRGIN, bring back Nick on a chat based show...

The God of the Airwaves

Advantages: Funny, good music
Disadvantages: Not on a talk based format

...The trouble is with Nick Abbot, as soon as he gets a decent talk slot, he gets sacked. Wrong place at the wrong time and all that. Abbot has a cult following and has his own unique style of radio presenting. He sets no topic for phone in - and thats probably what attracts the nutters that phone in. Abbot is able to handle them though, and what comes next is his own brand of comedy. It wasn't until Summer 1998 that Nick managed to get a full time weekday evening show. Things were going really well, the show was a success, we all fancied Nikki the newsreader, and everyone was having a laugh. By now Nick had built up quite a following on the Internet and many web sites where being dedicated to him. Then in November 1998 Talk Radio was taken over and acquired some new management. People were being fired left, right and centre...

Bring back Nick Abbots Phone in show

Advantages: Nick abbot the brilliant phone in show
Disadvantages: mono reception

...I started listening to virgin1215 in about 1993/94 and Nick Abbot had a late night slot starting about 11 and going on untill about2 or 3. It was magnificant. He played brilliant music like Pearl Jam and Therapy who were big back then and had a phone in show where anything goes. It was so funny, I used to tune in every night he was on. Sometimes he'd just ring companies up for a laugh just to complain about them. He is a brilliant shock jock and Virgin had to put disclamers every so often about his opinions because he didnt care who they offended. It was too good to last and too many complaints about his antics so all they have him doing now is just sorting out boring music marathons with middle of the road acts like the corrs...

Abbott and Costello meet FRANKENSTIEN

...Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein. = ~Intro duction~ The wonderful Abbot and Costello are here in probably their best film. They get to poke fun at not just Frankenstein (Glenn Strange) but also Dracula (Bela Lugosi) and the Wolfman (Lon Chaney Jr.). Get ready for a timeless rib tickling comedic fest. ~Synopsis~ Abbott and Costello are baggage handlers until that is a rather strange package turns up, Dracula! He has brought with him a weakened Frankenstein monster and soon decides that Abbots brain would do nicely inside of Frankenstein head, well, Abbot is understandably not too keen on this and so begins 90 Minutes of pure comedic fun. Meanwhile the Wolfman arrives from London with plans of destroying Dracula. But Dracula bites the Wolfmans girlfriend and captures Abbott, it is then...
