Epson Perfection 2580 Photo

Advantages: Excellent Scan Quality, Rapid Results.
Disadvantages: Very Poor Reference Guide, Noisy, No Power Switch, edges of Scan Bed Missed From Scan

...the case but how am I to know? It still leaves me with a feeling of unease. After all this it could be assumed that I'm not impressed with the Perfection 2580 Photo. Odd to say this is not the case. The reason for this is that the quality of the scans is very, very good and they are produced very rapidly. The pictures are crisp and clear and the colours very acceptable. A 7X4 inch print for example scans at 300 dpi in 8 seconds, 13 seconds at 400dpi and 65 seconds at 800 dpi. Resolution goes all the way up to 12,800 dpi. A full size 6 X 4 would take some time at this sort of figure but I can't imagine any circumstance where you'd want to do this. A tiny 10mm square surviving scrap of an 80 year old picture scanned at this resolution in 30 seconds and filled a 19 inch screen at only 17% of its full size. A scanned 35mm negative...

Epson

Advantages: Epson
Disadvantages: Epson

...After using this product for a few months I have not so far come up against any reliability issues but only time will tell. I therefore would recommend the product. However, always think carefully as to whether you actually really need something before you buy it. We buy so many things nowadays that we don't really need. It's a great little device with plenty of features that I would highly recommend. This really is a wonderful piece of kit that should go well with many accessories because it really looks good. However, always think carefully as to whether you actually really need something before you buy it. We buy so many things nowadays that we don't really need. Review of Epson Perfection V700 Photo

Picture Perfect

Advantages: Versatile scanner for more detailed reproduction
Disadvantages: A bit bulky

...I had an Epson perfection 1650 and it was long over due for a replacement upgrade. As I never had any real problems with my previous Epson I decided I would stick with the same brand an go for the Perfection V700 - a scanner designed specifically for photo scanning but that also acts as an all-purpose scanner. It incorporates Twain and WIA drivers that let you scan from most compatible programs. There also an optical character recognition (OCR) program that converts text images into a document that is in an editable format. The V700 has a maximum resolution of 6,400 pixels per inch, significantly higher than the 2,400-ppi or 3,600-ppi maximum of many dedicated film scanners available at the time of purchase. It was certainly a considerable improvement on my previous scanner. It handles 35mm film, 120 negatives, 1/4 plate negatives...

Epson 4490

Advantages: Excellent quality when scanning slides and negatives
Disadvantages: Professional mode could cause problems for the novice used

...I bought a 4490 specifically to use for scanning slides and negatives. There is no doubt that this scanner is an excellent item for those people that want a professional looking job at a very good price. Previously I had the Epson 2480 and although this was good, it is no match for the 4490,expected really with the time elasped between the release of the models. With the resolution set at least 2400dpi and with only unsharp mask and colour restoration selected the faded slides and neagatives were nearly as new. There are a few points that should be noted. If you are a novice and just want to scan something quickly without having to set different functions this may not be a scanner for you. By selecting colour restoration and Background correction when they are not needed, you can have a negative effect on what would have been...

The Perfect Scan!

Advantages: Good quality, Low price, V.Easy install
Disadvantages: Occasional freezing of software if scanner program left inactive

...familiar with, so selected Epson and a price bracket up to the GBP100, in order to compare their products, and was given a list of two. 1. EPSON Perfection 1670 2. EPSON Perfection 1670 Photo The only difference between the two was GBP10.00 in price, and the Photo option had the capability to scan film negatives. I had a brief look at other brands of Scanner, such as Kodak, Minolta, Mustek and Canon, but the products that looked favourable to me were either out of stock or over the price bracket, and I really wanted something that could be delivered immediately. So I decided to choose the EPSON Perfection 1670 Photo. *Product Description* The EPSON Perfection is a very modern, classy looking scanner. Coloured in two shades of grey, it makes the perfect accessory to my new black Dell PC. The scanners dimensions are as...

V200 Epson Scanner.. almost perfect!

Advantages: Good quality and cheap
Disadvantages: Slow

...-to-PDF button for saving images in PDF format this is great for people who usually save things in PDF anyway. Apperance The scanner is carefully designed to impress anyone with it's slim black casing standing at a small size of 57mm. Functions You can scan documments that are up to 25mm in thickness with the lid closed! Some more advantages... It has an advanced colour restoration feature this is defaintly useful for my father who has very old photos from his childhood and complained before I bouight this product about his photos fading, with this function you can bring old fadded photos back to life, my dad loves it! THERES ONLY ONE Disadvantage... One of the disadvantages of this item is that its quiet slow but the quality of the results compensate the slowness of the item. Although the Epson v200 isnt fast , it is...

Updating the Ark

Advantages: Low purchase price, versatility, good results
Disadvantages: It's noisy, not really for the serious photographer

...the family, contained little of artistic merit. It was a standing joke in the family, for instance, that my mother would take a picture of my father with some large building protruding from his head, and my dad wasn't the best for capturing the moment in focus either. As for my abilities with the camera, well the less said, the better! As a result I decided to go for the Epson Perfection V300 Photo scanner, which set me back £72.56 on Amazon. I have been using 3-in-1 scanners for years now, so it seemed strange to have a dedicated flatbed scanner again and whilst this model is sleek and stylish in black, it is also quite large. Fortunately it is lightweight and easy to move about if need be. The scanner came with software CD, mains adaptor, photo template and USB lead. Connecting it was trickier than usual as my CD/DVD drive packed up not long...

Epson Perfection.......Again

Advantages: Excellent scan quality, Full version of SilverFast Ai
Disadvantages: Little Diffrence from V700, Film holders are a little flimsy for a pro scanner.

...This is a top of the range flatbed scanner designed for professional photographers and designers who need only the best quality. I bought this product after my V700 Broke down. I saw little or no difference with this and its predocessor. The Differences between the two are very subtle and are as follows :- The Epson V700 Photo scanner was trageted at the high end consumer. Whereas the V750 is targeted for the more professional user. The V750 has an Anti-Reflection Optical Coating as well as CCD Glass to help reduce the ammount of reflection. These are Features that Only a professional would look for when buying this type of product and are not all needed for you casual high end consumer in my opinion. The V750 also includes a full version of SilverFast Ai 6 which i found as a good addition to the package as when i bought my V...

Epson perfection?

Advantages: Slick and easy
Disadvantages: Speed

...If You are a general user then this is deffinately the scanner for you. It is incredibly easy to use, no hassle, no fuss. It has three basic options: Full auto mode This mode, is as it suggests, automatic. It assumes what is being scans and choses the recommended settings, for photos and documents, it is all you will ever really need. Home mode If you know how to dabble in this mode you can choose things such as the resoloution and coulour type (colour grayscale or black and white). You can also make minor image adjustments such as contrast. Professional mode You can change pretty much anything in this mode. The scanner gives clear, crisp scans, no dust specks or the like. I was moving my conventional photos (who uses those anymore?) to my computer and it was slightly slow on the higher resoloution setting but i...

Epson Stylus Photo R220

Advantages: Photo Quality is Excellent, Prints on variety of media, Prints CD's and DVD's, Good Software bundle with sleek design
Disadvantages: Text print not fantastic, Cannot print direct from digital cameras, camcorders or memory cards. No LCD Display

...a run for their money. After wandering aimlessly around the shop for some 20 minutes or more my eyes finally settled on the Epson Stylus Photo R220. With its sleek design and fantastic silver/grey finish I fell in love with it immediately. I stood there for a while, picturing it on my desk at home and decided that it was the perfect accompaniment to my other gadgets, and a vast improvement on my old, white coloured printer. The main selling point for me was that the Epson Stylus Photo R220 can print on nearly any type of media you can imagine, in particular CD's and DVD's. I fancy myself as a bit of a singer and have recorded a few CD's in the past, and so I thought it would be ideal if I was able to print CD covers directly onto the discs to make a professional looking CD. After weighing up the pros and cons I decided to buy the R...
