Acer Aspire 3003LC
Review of Acer Aspire 3003LC - Mobile Sempron 3000+ 1.8 GHz - 15" TFT by
FrankBee
Advantages: Great for new users, looks good, light and good value for money
Disadvantages: None so far
...Acer Aspire 3003LC - Mobile Sempron 3000+ 1.8 GHz - 15" TFT
Other than the word "Acer" I bet the newbie buyer hasn't got a clue what the rest of the above means. In fact trudging round Currys, Comet and PC World looking for a laptop, the descriptions may as well have been in ancient Greek. The fact is that, other than the price, there is almost no understandable information available from manufacturers and retailers. Shop assistants, if and when found, seem to drift into the same meaningless drivel.
So why did a non-techy choose the Acer. Well because it looked good, was on budget and the man in Comet was friendly and it came with his recommendation.
At home the Acer started first time and Windows Vista was welcoming and straight forward to set up. In fact we expected to have to load discs but this has now been done away with...

THE INSPIRED ACER ASPIRE
Review of Acer Aspire 3003LC - Mobile Sempron 3000+ 1.8 GHz - 15" TFT by
premier7
Advantages: Stylish Looking - Great Value For Money - Practical
Disadvantages: Limited processing speed - No Microsoft Office
...with which I was able to get started. After roughly 10 minutes filing in a few simple questions and installing programs on a provided disc everything was up and running. Here is a list of the major features of the Acer Aspire 3003LC
Main Features
Mobile AMD Sempron processor 3000+
15.0" XGA TFT LCD
40GB HDD
DVD/CD-RW Combo
256MB DDR
Pros
Impressive Memory Storage - The 40 GB hard drive is plentiful for any casual laptop user, and has stored more than enough music and videos to keep me company at university
LCD Screen - The 15" LCD screen is really sharp and has a nice contrast to it.
Cost - I think the retail price at the moment for the Aspire 3003 LC is below £500, however I had a discount voucher from BT for £150 meaning I paid roughly £350 for it. This coupled with a free BT VP1000 home security system worth £120 and you can...

Formula 1 Racer-Acer
Review of Acer Aspire 3003WLMi - Mobile Sempron 3000+ 1.8 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
Sgathach
Advantages: Big Memory, small price.
Disadvantages: 1.5 hour batttery life
...Acer Aspire 3003WLMI
This starts with a few technical details, If you just want to know if it works I'll just say yes before I start and give you more details later; no good you reading at the beginning what I think of it and how it works if it's not got the specs you are looking for. I hope you find this review useful.
In order to review this laptop I must include information taken from the Acer Website, this is to help the reader evaluate the manufacturer as well as the product.
For some strange reason Acer does not seem to be well know to people who are looking to buy a new computer. I wonder if they would change their minds if they knew that Acer is in fact the official supplier of computers and systems to the Formula One Maranello team. (You can in fact buy special "Ferrari" Laptops).
Acer is one of the global leaders...

Acer Aspire 3003lc
Review of Acer Aspire 3003LC - Mobile Sempron 3000+ 1.8 GHz - 15" TFT by
djfost
Advantages: Cheap, Reasonably Powerful, Looks Good
Disadvantages: Short Battery Life, Poor Graphics, Widescreen Case but NOT a wide screen
...The Acer Aspire was one of the cheapest laptops that I could find when I looked into purchasing a basic laptop for my school work earlier this year. In fact, it was the cheapest model that Acer made, and it shows in the features that it has, and doesn't have.
It features a nice bright 15 inch screen that is good for watching movies, viewing pictures and general internet surfing. However, the model above features a great glossy LCD that is perfect for a laptop of this size, which brings me on to my next point.
Unfortunately, like many manufacturers, Acer has used the similar case for many of its' laptops including the model above with the widescreen, therefore, the case is quite wide in comparison to the standard style (squarer) screen.
Networking. Nowadays with the internet and all, access and connectivity is paramount when...

Acer is Ace!!
Review of Acer Aspire 3003WLMi - Mobile Sempron 3000+ 1.8 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
ladyboymondaytofriday
Advantages: easy to use, wide range of pre-installed applications, quick processor, good TFT screen
Disadvantages: poor battery life
...I've owned a number of laptops over the years, never staying loyal to one brand due to poor battery life, lack of applications, poor quality processors or the bane of my life, continual system breakdowns which seem to occur on something of a regular basis.
I picked up my Acer Aspire 3003WLMi for £550 from Comet and on balance of all of the laptops on display I was pleased with my purchase in terms of affordability, looks and overall package.
The box contained:
The laptop
A power cable
A battery pack
Instruction booklets
Warranty Cards
Restore Disks
Windows XP Home Edition Disks
After installing the battery and connecting the power cable to the rear actually switching the laptop on and commencing usage was so easy an infant could have done it. Windows XP was pre-installed so all that was needed was to go through...

Review of Acer Ferrari 3000LMi - Athlon XP-M 2500+ 1.86 GHz - 15" TFT by
Deviant1
Advantages: High performance, good looks.
Disadvantages: Heats up very quickly.
...My uncle has bought this notebook recently and I am quite sure he is happy at his purchase. The Ferrari 3000 has a bright red lid, and sports the distinct yellow Ferrari logo on the bottom-right corner and a silver Acer logo embossed in the centre. The base and the inside panel are done in metallic silver, with another Ferrari logo on the bottom panel. The red and silver dual-tone finish makes it the most distinctive looking notebook you can lay your hands on. A red optical USB mouse also sporting a Ferrari logo, is bundled. The keyboard is recessed into the base, | | |
