...This laptop has fantastic design, its called gemstone and is a very new one from acer and is being used in more and more of their laptops because of its popularity with customers. It does have split opinions however, some love it and some people really cant stand the look of it. I however think its great, its black and cream colour, with a lovely glossy lid looks cool and very neat and tidy. Also what I like about this Is its clearly a design that acer has come up with and kept, and it clearly represents their company. a lot of laptops from other manufacturers just look the same as others and you cant tell what brand they are, this however, much like the look of apples imacs you can tell they belong to which company. Acer Aspire 6920G - mid-range laptop of the year?

...After 3 weeks of owning the acer aspire 6920G i can safely say it is the best laptop i have ever used (or even see other people use), the elegant design, uniquely awesome 16" screen and the great price/performance ratio makes for one great laptop. One of the first things you will notice when you first turn on the laptop is the 'Cinedash' media bar on the left of glossy keyboard. Essentially it is just a funkier version of the standard media hotkeys prevailent on all but the most budget of laptops, but it is a wonder to behold. If nothing else it just makes the whole of the laptop seem just that little bit more stylish, even if it does attract the attention of every friend/family/flatmate/spouse, meaning that for all the faffing with the touch pad volume slide, you can hardly get a chance to use the laptop yourself at first...

...This is another great laptop from the acer travelmate range. this laptop, like all the other travelmates is specifically designed for those working people. You can tell by looking at it that its not really a gaming or movie laptop, because it does look very business like, however its not ugly and it does look quite sleek. This features a Intel Core 2 Duo processor which runs the 2gb installed ram like a dream. Another great thing about this laptop is that the ram can be upgraded to 4gb, this isn\'t cheap however and could cost over £100 to upgrade it to 4gb of ram, however this would make the laptop run so much faster so if you do need a really fast laptop then this is possible something to might think about when buying. This top spec laptop will cost you around £700, which is quite a lot, but for what you are getting is a great deal. This laptop is super quick, and can cope with very demanding software and games, it has a Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 processor which runs the installed 2 gb of ram. Advantages: 16" Widescreen, Blue-ray, media controls, good battery life
Disadvantages: One word - VISTA

...-centre keyboard (due to the media controls to the left of it) would cause me some problems, but I got used to it very quickly, helped in part by the soft touch. What is still taking me a bit of getting used to is the 'slide control' for the volume, which feels more step than slide. The built in wireless is so far flawless, having not had a single dip, or drop-out, despite many hours of internet use. I've not yet given it a range test but it manages very well indoors. The HD screen, Blue-ray and 5.1 are perfect for movies, although I do have some occasional problems with output from the sub, and I've not been able to switch from 1366x768 to 1920x1080, but I strongly suspect these are Vista issues rather than hardware ones.
