Acer Aspire 5920. A real Gemstone
Review of Acer Aspire 5920 by
kavit-007
Advantages: Cool with style, technology, user friendly with easy understanding
Disadvantages: Sensitive touch buttons, overweight,
...I purchased my Acer Aspire 5920G from Comet. So much for cutting prices. The laptop itself is cool, it's fairly fast, easy to use and really portable. The 15.4" inch screen is the perfect size. The laptop comes with the useful Acer Empowering software. Highly recommended laptop, the only problems I have had is with the sometimes buggy Vista. The keyboard isn't the best but I haven't had any problems with it. the touch sensitive media buttons on the right of the keyboard are too sensitive and i often end up touching them and opening the program by mistake. the Acer is fitted with superfast wireless with the inclusion of 802.11n. It also has a card reader and a camera. The laptop is great, lots of features, Acer have really pushed the boat out on this. A lot of people have been critical of the styling however I find it quite refreshing....

Ace laptops by Acer,
Review of Acer Aspire 6371R by
Takiraj101
Advantages: Dependable, cheap, exceed expectations!
Disadvantages: Not applicable.
... Ace laptops by Acer,
I have got an acer aspire 5315 laptop with an intel celeron processor, 64MB graphics, 512MB RAM, 15.4'' screen, 80GB hdd, built in wireless and a dvd super multi re-writer drive.
It is very well designed when it comes to style with its acer pebble design and it is very dependable. I am very pleased with my laptop and what makes this all way better in my opinion is the price that you can buy acer laptops at.
My laptop for example only costs around £300 in the shops and still is good enough to withstand all the stuff i do on it ranging from browsing the web to programming software in visual basic or visual c++ and even has proved itself well capable of playing games well which many computer gamers would never expect of a computer with only 64mb graphics and a proccessor that is not dual or quad as you can now...

Acer is Ace
Review of Acer Aspire 3661WLMi - Celeron M 410 1.46 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
buckydaman
Advantages: Just like the make its Ace, good for first time laptop buyers
Disadvantages: for advanced users they will want just that much more
...Acer have come a long way and you can tell they have put so much effort in giving the comsumer great products. This is shown in their technology. The Acer Aspire 3661 wlmi is a great laptop for first time users and at a fantastic price is more than value for money.
I brought this computer for the wife who as little PC experience and wow how quickly she has progressed using this laptop. I have taken full advantage of the built in WIFI so the Aspire is taken everywhere around the household.
It runs at about 1.5ghz which sounds a little slow but dont let that fool you, built in PCI Express makes it run 4 times faster than traditonal PCI. The Acer Arcade (softwhere) multimedia suite is fun to use and very easy. it caters for all your needs like photo's and playing you dvds. So many more features but i will leave you all to experiance...

Acer Aspire 1350 - Good Buy
Review of Acer Aspire 1350 by
preed89
Advantages: Cheap, Easy to use, Does every neccisary
Disadvantages: Heavy
...I bought this laptop 2 years ago and I think that if your looking for a standerd laptop for college or work or even personal use it is a very good buy. it is good value for money and can do alot of the things your much more costly computer can do. It can handle wireless and broadband. It can take a CD-Rom and wright Cds,
It also has an intel centrino Duo processor which means that no matter how many progams you are running it should not slow down. Wether that is completly true i am not sure but it is certainly quicker than other laptops I have used.
It is resonably heavy but not so heavy that it is uncomfertable. If i was to recomend a cheaper computer to anybody I would definatly consider looking at the Acer Aspire 1350.
Thanks...

Disappointed...
Review of Acer Aspire 3614WLMi - Celeron M 380 1.6 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
bradders1011
Advantages: Inbuilt wireless LAN
Disadvantages: Inherent design problems, lack of tech support
...I bought my Acer because I'm an F1 fan, and they sponsor Ferrari. I guess I was conned by the marketing man!
For the first 6 or 7 months my Acer worked perfectly, it was fast and had no problems whatsoever. Then things started to go wrong.
1) The screen is weak, cracks began to appear at the bottom on both sides.
2) The CD drive pops out every few minutes for no reason. I have contacted Acer who acknowledged it was an inherent problem with the Aspire, yet there is no fix.
3) I have had to reset it twice, due to unexplained slowing up in the processor.
4) The standby sensor on the lid has stopped working altogether.
There were also some longstanding annoyances: Although there is a 'bluetooth' button on the front, this is not included in the package. Also, the tech support from Acer can only be described as awful. Every reply just...

Acer Aspire 5920 Gemstone Laptop - LX.AKV0X.146
Review of Acer Aspire 5920 by
scaper
Advantages: Portable, easy to use, low priced, fast
Disadvantages: Slightly reflective screen, sometimes sensitive touchpad buttons, flashing WAN button, not the best keyboard
...I purchased my Acer Aspire 5920 laptop from PC World. No problems with the laptop but the service at PC World is appauling so I would not recommend buying the laptop from PC World. They also put the price up for the laptop three days after I purchased the laptop. So much for cutting prices.
The laptop itself is brilliant, it's fairly fast, easy to use and really portable. The 15.4" inch screen is the perfect size but it is slightly reflective so if you're planning to use it in high light intensity you may have problems. The Acer laptop comes with the useful Acer Empowering software. Highly recommended laptop, the only problems I have had is with the sometimes buggy Vista.
The keyboard isn't the best but I haven't had any problems with it. The touchpad buttons can sometimes cause programs to open up but that can easily be solved...

Acer has aced on this one!
Review of Acer Aspire L5100 - Athlon 64 X2 4200+ 2.2 GHz - 19" TFT by
RoryGriffiths
Advantages: Everything you could want, particularly amazing multimedia handling.
Disadvantages: Gamers beware
...The Acer Aspire L5100 is an economical, yet complete package for the everyday home computer user.
Behind it's small, ultra-compact chassis lies a powerhouse in entertainment; the latest spec for modern home theatre, AMD LIVE!, boasts exceptional and smooth management of your multimedia, the main atrraction for me of this Acer product.
It exudes elegance and chicness in an understated manner; it measures 25cm by 20cm by 6cm and looks fantastic. It therefore feels and looks right at home in a minimalist, stress-free environment.
Due to its cheap price tag of roughly ~£330 one would expect corners to have been cut, but this is not the case.
It has an excellent dual-core AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ / 2.2 GHz processor, an adequate 500GB harddrive to store all your music, films, and videos on, 2GB of RAM, and all the other gimmicks one would...

Acer Aspire 5051AWXMi
Review of Acer Aspire 5051AWXMi - Turion 64 mobile technology MK-36 2 GHz - 14.1" TFT by
verdos
Advantages: Price, Features, speed, good display and solid buld
Disadvantages: Very poor battery life
...For the price this is a great feature packed product only let down by poor battery life, approx 1 hour running Windows XP or 45 minutes on Vista (with power saving options on, and yes we did take it up with Acer who said it was normal) . Needless to say we are using XP. The display is sharp and clear whilst and case is durable with a good feel keyboard (better than the Toshiba we use which cost a great deal more). The processor speed is good, it can handle a number of applications, curently running a virus check whilst writting this with no slowdown or breaks.
All in All this is a cracking piece of kit for the price only let down by poor battery life which in this day and age is not good and is the reason for only 3 *....

Acer Aspire 3613WLMi
Review of Acer Aspire 3613WLMi - Celeron M 370 1.5 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
danfellowes
Advantages: Practical
Disadvantages: Improveable
...This is the Acer Aspire 3613WLMi laptop computer. Stats it gives on the actual laptop seem like a good place to start:
Intel Celeron M Processor 370
(1.5GHz, 400 MHz FSB, 1MB L2 cache)
15.4" WXGA CrystalBrite TFT LCD
40GB
DVD-Dual double layer
(Supports DVD+R Double layer/ DVD+/-RW)
512MB DDR2 (support dual-channel)
802.11 b/g wireless LAN
Right so the laptop itself is pretty decent even if a little dated by now. It runs fine and at a decent speed. It has enough RAM at 512MB to not have to worry about it being able to run things unless you're after brand new games. The laptop I have is just used for text and photo editing work which it can handle absolutely perfectly.
It contains a DVD rewriter in the side which works very well. I have had problems with all other DVD rewriters but this works very well through Windows Media Player...

Review of Acer Aspire 5612WLMi - Core Duo T2300 1.66 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
jackcurran
Advantages: Low price, fast perfomance, good battery life
Disadvantages: FAT32 disc formatting,
...The Acer Aspire 5612WLMi offers the advantages of a Intel Core Duo processor, the T2300, combined with 1GB of RAM and an ample 100GB hard disk, and of course a DVD-RW and Wireless networking. Coming in at a budget price.
Packaging
The box for the 5612 is of a simple design and the laptop is very well packaged within. It is securely fixed with polystyrene to hold the laptop in position and the manual, driver cds and power supply contained well.
Setup
Once removed from the box the first thing to do is to charge the laptop. When turned on for the first time an Acer walkthrough takes you through the setup and registration. An opportunity is provided to create a backup disc that will take the system back to its factory settings if problems are encountered later on.
Performance
The Intel Duo processor combined with 1GB of RAM allows...
