How do you decide which one is better than the other. First look at your budget. I had up to £400 to play with. You can get a good Laptop for this price nowadays. Whats a good laptop? I wanted something fast. Tired of wating yonks for web pages to load. Tired of crashing programs. So good RAM too. For speed you need a good processor and RAM. With this computer I got both at a good price. 4 gb of RAM and a intel core duo 2 processor wont leave you stuck in mud. I wanted a good quality screen too. It has a nice and bright 14.5 inch screen, It is glossy and slick. Very nice. You can watch movies on it no problem and video games too. Mine came with 150gb of hard drive. Enough...

Aspiring to be inspiring! Is this another Ace Acer?

Advantages: SUPERB battery life, relatively portable and very slim.
Disadvantages: For basic and general business use, not games.

...Here we have a very mixed laptop in terms of its features and abilities. Firstly, I want to make clear that the Acer Aspire 4810T is a laptop to consider for business use, or non-graphics-intensive applications such as Word, Excel and standard internet browsing. If you are expecting to be able to play the latest video games and run graphics designer packages, then you'd be better off looking at other laptops with better stats than this one. What it does have in its favour is an increased battery life of around 7 hours, possibly as much as 8 - and a very slim and portable design with a gorgeous 14" screen. It is in a word SEXY! ...--Background-- My wife has always moaned that she could never get onto the family PC as it was always being used by either my kids or myself. After doing a bit of research, she convinced me to buy her the Acer Aspire One netbook which she would use for web browsing and writing simple documents. I was a bit sceptical of the device, after all, to me it was just a cheap laptop. But, alas, she won and off I went to Currys armed with my credit card to begrudingly buy her one. --In the box-- The box in which the Aspire comes is very small. You'd be able to fit it under your arm and carry it no problem. Acer plays the Ace card again!

Advantages: Small, lightweight, great performer. Can handle some 3D games.
Disadvantages: None for the Netbook, but Linux version is rubbish.

...I have revised my review after using the netbook for a while. I purchased the Acer A150 because I was going on a cruise and wanted something small and light. I decided on the Linux version of this netbook for £235, the Windows XP version is around £269. The Operating System First thing I need to say about it is Linux, what a joke with its limited functions and the hassle you need to go through to add new features. I wanted DivX support so I could watch movies at night but after a few hours looking for a suitable program and drivers I gave up. Linux isn't as straightforward as Windows and in many cases you have to open up a console and type commands when you want to install or make changes to an installation. ...After researching laptops for months and months to find a suitable model to use for university, i settled comfortably with the acer aspire, as it has many advantages compared to other laptops with similar specifications. For my course i need a lot of memory, and so the 250GB hardrive was a big attraction for me. The laptop in fact has two separate drives each with over 100GB of disk space. This allows you to separate your data appropriately, for example i keep all of my media such as music on pictures on the D drive while i install my programmes and keep important data on the C drive. Advantages: Fast and ultra portable
Disadvantages: There is no disadvantage to owning this computer

...I own the 8GB linux version in white. It is cute and compact with a glossy finish. The Aspire One running linux is surprisingly fast considering its 512MB of ram. It is perfect for wirelessly browsing the web using fire fox. The keyboard is just short of full size making it the perfect tool for typing an e-mail or essay whilst out and about. The open office documents can be saved as word, powerpoint or excel documents so they are microsoft compatible. I chose the 8GB version for the increased durability, I have not yet filled the hard drive but when I do there is a storage expansion slot which will take an SD card. The Aspire one is a great little computer well worth its small price tag...
