How do you decide which one is better than the other. First look at your budget. I had up to £400 to play with. You can get a good Laptop for this price nowadays. Whats a good laptop? I wanted something fast. Tired of wating yonks for web pages to load. Tired of crashing programs. So good RAM too. For speed you need a good processor and RAM. With this computer I got both at a good price. 4 gb of RAM and a intel core duo 2 processor wont leave you stuck in mud. I wanted a good quality screen too. It has a nice and bright 14.5 inch screen, It is glossy and slick. Very nice. You can watch movies on it no problem and video games too. Mine came with 150gb of hard drive. Enough...

...After researching laptops for months and months to find a suitable model to use for university, i settled comfortably with the acer aspire, as it has many advantages compared to other laptops with similar specifications. For my course i need a lot of memory, and so the 250GB hardrive was a big attraction for me. The laptop in fact has two separate drives each with over 100GB of disk space. This allows you to separate your data appropriately, for example i keep all of my media such as music on pictures on the D drive while i install my programmes and keep important data on the C drive. The laptop also has 2GB RAM and so i instantly noticed a difference in speed between it and my old dell desktop computer. ...I purchased my Acer Aspire 5920G from Comet. So much for cutting prices. The laptop itself is cool, it's fairly fast, easy to use and really portable. The 15.4" inch screen is the perfect size. The laptop comes with the useful Acer Empowering software. Highly recommended laptop, the only problems I have had is with the sometimes buggy Vista. The keyboard isn't the best but I haven't had any problems with it. the touch sensitive media buttons on the right of the keyboard are too sensitive and i often end up touching them and opening the program by mistake. the Acer is fitted with superfast wireless with the inclusion of 802.11n. It also has a card reader and a camera. The laptop is great, lots of features, Acer have really pushed the boat out on this. A lot of people have been critical of the styling however I find it quite refreshing....

Advantages: Fast, Durable, Unique
Disadvantages: Overly sensitive and emits a high pitched noise

...I bought this laptop about a month ago. So far it has served me very well. It's not the most portable laptop ever made but it's is unique in design and has a cream interior which is a great contrast to it's glossy shiny black cover (although the cover does get annoying smudged very easily). I also love the Webcam in the lid which is perfect for video chatting, although i was disappointed that it cannot be swivled around like it can be on other acer models. You can read about the advantages of this laptop all over the net and i would agree - it is a fast capable laptop. However there are some negatives, namely: 1. if you close the lid or leave it in hibernation for too long with the lid closed, it makes an incredibly annoying high pitched continuous beep until you raise the lid. Sometimes i have had to restart it to stop...

I am so impressed with Acers 5920

Advantages: Latest technology and very cool aesthetics makes me want to eat this baby.
Disadvantages: Not everything is perfect. The Aspire 5920 comes as close as I have seen

...It takes a lot to get my lazy backside to write a review online, in fact I have not done this before, but I am so impressed with Acers Aspire 5920 I just can't keep quiet about this machine and have a strange urge to shout from the rooftops all about its virtues. I was not looking for a new laptop, as I have a decent PC in a box at home but after playing with a Acer 5920 in a shop the other day, I have for the first time in my life fallen in love with a bit of hardware! I am now saving like mad and intend to get one in the next few weeks. And to those pundits in the mags slagging of its styling, clean your specs and see some daylight, this thing is beauty incarnate. I can honestly say after trying this machine I now sneer at everything else. Wow, what an impact. I want one. I want one! and plenty of places to get one...

...Sleek and slim, it is a brilliant, well priced laptop. The 15 inch screen resolution is great, and the features are brilliant. It's fast and efficient and is great, especially for everyday use as a home pc. It also includes a 160 GB hard disk, dvd and cd drive, and a webcam fitted into the screen which is very clear and convenient. The keyboard carries shortcut keys on either side, for features such as Wireless, Internet, Mail and Bluetooth on the left hand side of the keyboard. On the right hand side, there is a touch-sensitive section for other features. The chic design, which includes a shiny outer black surface and matt grey inner keyboard, is a result of combined style from both Acer and BMW .. who could go wrong with that?!?!?!...

...I purchased my Acer Aspire 5920 laptop from PC World. No problems with the laptop but the service at PC World is appauling so I would not recommend buying the laptop from PC World. They also put the price up for the laptop three days after I purchased the laptop. So much for cutting prices. The laptop itself is brilliant, it's fairly fast, easy to use and really portable. The 15.4" inch screen is the perfect size but it is slightly reflective so if you're planning to use it in high light intensity you may have problems. The Acer laptop comes with the useful Acer Empowering software. Highly recommended laptop, the only problems I have had is with the sometimes buggy Vista. The keyboard isn't the best but I haven't had any problems with it. The touchpad buttons can sometimes cause programs to open up but that can easily be solved...

Aspire 5920 - So good the little things annoy you!

Advantages: Very fast, looks nice, loads of extra software and hardware features, fast network adapter
Disadvantages: Graphics card, no num pad when there's room. Bad touch pad. That's about it.

...I have this laptop and it is pretty good. It is very fast indeed and the processor's brilliant. The graphics card however is bog standard. I was told was getting a good graphics card but it is an awful intel onboard one. And there isn't a num pad when there's plenty of room for one as well. Now as a very picky perfectionist that's very annoying. Hard Drive Space: Brilliant, shows how far these laptops have come. 120GB plenty for most users and all of my stuff (apart from my HD family videos) Wireless network adaptor is brilliant though. Unbeatable range. Quite light. Kinda useful buttons on it. Brilliant sound system (Virtual Surround) quiet though it may be. Great little webcam. The touch pad sucks so I always use a mouse anyway. Acer gives you plenty of useless software for you to enjoy as well which is always a good thing...
