Acer Aspire Gemstone Blue Review
Review of Acer Aspire 6920G Gemstone Blue by
tianen
Advantages: Equipped with most features
Disadvantages: heavy
...A sexy laptop with cinema function. Superbest sound quality which equipped with Acer Tuba CineBass booster supporting low-frequency effects and 5 built in speakers. Powerful Nvidia Graphic Card for supporting full HD LCD monitor and ultimate for games. Blu-ray optical drive as addtional plugin enabled full HD movies watching. Massive storage up to 320 gigabyte is more than enough for storing games, movies, songs and other files. Built in finger print reader gives more data protection otherwise. On comparing to other laptops, its function, sleeky and touchy appearance make it outstanding and the most considerable one. Although it is as heavy as 3 kilogram, it features had outweighted its weight. For more information, go to the offical website and grab one for yourself now!...

An Ace from Acer
Review of Acer Aspire 6920G Gemstone Blue by
p.milbanke
Advantages: 16" Widescreen, Blue-ray, media controls, good battery life
Disadvantages: One word - VISTA
...-centre keyboard (due to the media controls to the left of it) would cause me some problems, but I got used to it very quickly, helped in part by the soft touch. What is still taking me a bit of getting used to is the 'slide control' for the volume, which feels more step than slide.
The built in wireless is so far flawless, having not had a single dip, or drop-out, despite many hours of internet use. I've not yet given it a range test but it manages very well indoors.
The HD screen, Blue-ray and 5.1 are perfect for movies, although I do have some occasional problems with output from the sub, and I've not been able to switch from 1366x768 to 1920x1080, but I strongly suspect these are Vista issues rather than hardware ones.
My only bitch ...is nothing to do with Acer, but is instead the dreaded Microsoft and their afwul Vista. I don...

Brains AND beauty - the 6920 has it all
Review of Acer Aspire 6920G-814G32Bn - Core 2 Duo T8100 2.1 GHz - 16" TFT by
technosplat
Advantages: Speed, reliability, stunning good looks
Disadvantages: Quite heavy, will make everything else seem a bit uglier
...A truly stunning piece of technology doesn't happen every day - at least not for this money!
Under the £1000 mark you can now buy decent laptops - good specs, well equipped machines. But until now, their ugliness made them embarrasing to take out of the house. The Acer 6920 changes all that.
We needed a laptop for our photographic business, so it had to be fast, powerful and reliable. The Intel Core2 Duo produces a staggering amount of clock speed, around 5 GhZ if you add it up in real terms. Coupled with 4Gb RAM (good quality stuff too), an impressive DEDICATED graphics card and beautiful glass-fronted display, the 6920 meets all the geeky criteria and some!
However, the specs (as impressive as they are) are not the 6920's party piece. No. That, ladies and gentlemen, is it's looks. It - is - stunning. No other way to describe...

Acer Aspire 5101AWLMi - 15.4" TFT
Review of Acer Aspire 5101AWLMi - Turion 64 mobile technology MK-36 2 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
maggot13
Advantages: cheap, good quality laptop with decent features, upgradable.
Disadvantages: no bluetooth. memory will need upgrading if moving on to Windows Vista
...First off what an easy to use laptop full of built in features for a very reasonable price ( £349.99 upwards) was £380 when i purchased mine but is worth every penny. Why people pay in excess of £500 for machines with a lower spec is beyond me. Acer have come a long way in providing great quality laptops at a lower price.
on first run you follow the setup options and then it recommends you create a restore disc i did this using 2 blank dvd's with ease just following the on screen instructions. once this was complete i did the windows updates to get it fully upto date.
The inbuilt wireless adapter (Atheros AR5005G Wireless Network Adapter) connects so easy to my wireless network with a reasonable range even in the garden. The 15.4" WXGA wide CrystalBrite TFT LCD Display is just as good as its name suggests (crystal) it displays...

Acer Aspire 9100
Review of Acer Aspire 9100 by
Martinscholes
Advantages: Fantastic laptop
Disadvantages: One or two minor niggles
...The Acer Aspire 9100 is, it has to be said, an attractive little beastie. It has a small footprint, a nice silver case and is suitable for playing games on, due to the ATI graphics chip with 128MB on it.
It also makes use of Inten Centrino, mobile technology ™ and is specially designed for Windows XP. (Aren't they all, these days?!)
What are the technical specifications?
The screen is good. Better than my previous laptop. It is a 15.4" WXGA Acer CrystalBrite colour TFT LCD screen with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution. And it really does show!
It has 16.7 million colours and supports "simultaneous multi-window viewing via Acer GridVista" Yes, of COURSE it does! (Silly me!)
There's also the option of having a built-in TV tuner, with an aerial socket on the rear of the computer.
As I say, the graphics capabilities are good...

Acer Aspire 3613WLMi
Review of Acer Aspire 3613WLMi - Celeron M 370 1.5 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
danfellowes
Advantages: Practical
Disadvantages: Improveable
...This is the Acer Aspire 3613WLMi laptop computer. Stats it gives on the actual laptop seem like a good place to start:
Intel Celeron M Processor 370
(1.5GHz, 400 MHz FSB, 1MB L2 cache)
15.4" WXGA CrystalBrite TFT LCD
40GB
DVD-Dual double layer
(Supports DVD+R Double layer/ DVD+/-RW)
512MB DDR2 (support dual-channel)
802.11 b/g wireless LAN
Right so the laptop itself is pretty decent even if a little dated by now. It runs fine and at a decent speed. It has enough RAM at 512MB to not have to worry about it being able to run things unless you're after brand new games. The laptop I have is just used for text and photo editing work which it can handle absolutely perfectly.
It contains a DVD rewriter in the side which works very well. I have had problems with all other DVD rewriters but this works very well through Windows...

THE INSPIRED ACER ASPIRE
Review of Acer Aspire 3003LC - Mobile Sempron 3000+ 1.8 GHz - 15" TFT by
premier7
Advantages: Stylish Looking - Great Value For Money - Practical
Disadvantages: Limited processing speed - No Microsoft Office
...with which I was able to get started. After roughly 10 minutes filing in a few simple questions and installing programs on a provided disc everything was up and running. Here is a list of the major features of the Acer Aspire 3003LC
Main Features
Mobile AMD Sempron processor 3000+
15.0" XGA TFT LCD
40GB HDD
DVD/CD-RW Combo
256MB DDR
Pros
Impressive Memory Storage - The 40 GB hard drive is plentiful for any casual laptop user, and has stored more than enough music and videos to keep me company at university
LCD Screen - The 15" LCD screen is really sharp and has a nice contrast to it.
Cost - I think the retail price at the moment for the Aspire 3003 LC is below £500, however I had a discount voucher from BT for £150 meaning I paid roughly £350 for it. This coupled with a free BT VP1000 home security system worth £120 and you can...

Acer Aspire 2920 Aspire to one
Review of Acer Aspire 2920 by
raregreyastra
Advantages: Large Hard Drive and RAM, fast ,good range of features
Disadvantages: No anti glare screen ,keys a little small lack some positiveness
...Despite having a home pc it is sometimes necessary to have access to one when not at home I therefore decided the time had come to invest in a laptop. Like desktops there are numerous makes models and specifications available. As with a lot of things it is a balancing act between prices and features and eventually I chose the Acer Aspire 2920 Which I paid £460 for by shopping around
About the Acer 2920
By laptop standards it might not be the smallest or lightest available but do not let that deter you from giving it due consideration so what do you get for your money
At first view you get a stylish looking piece of equipment it has a glossy black finish which makes a change a lot seem to be a silver /grey colour
When you lift the lid you might be a bit disappointed by the interior I know I was the keyboard and surround is a matt...

the acer aspire, 5633
Review of Acer Aspire 5633WLMi - Core 2 Duo T5500 - 15.4" TFT by
techno_man_37
Advantages: looks, speed
Disadvantages: battery life!!
...This review is on the acer aspire 5633WLMi. This is an all round good laptop and even though this has great specifications, you can get it for around £450-£500.
When I first came across this laptop I noticed how sleek it really looks, and the picture of it on ciao really doesn't do it any justice.
When companies make laptops with only one colour of plastic it somehow really annoys me, however acer have designed this to be black and silver, this just makes the laptop look so much better and so much more modern that those one tone old laptops.
The top part of the laptop around the screen is black and the bottom is silver, but with a black keyboard which makes it look great.
The shape is actually really thin, especially since a lot of acers older aspires and travel mates have been a little on then chunky side, ok then, a lot...
