The whole Travelmate range has all the fantastic features of the Aspire series but without the baggage of the multimedia extras like 'aspire arcade' and the make your own movie programs. If you just want back to basics power then the 8104 is for you. Packed with a 2.0ghz Mobile (which according to CSGNetwork equates to a massive 3.96ghz desktop equivilant *), and complimented by 1Meg L2Cache and 1GB Ram (DDRII) as standard it makes the basics of this machine quite difficult to comprehend. Advantages: Windows Vista Home Premium, looks, ease of use, packages installed.
Disadvantages: Slightly heavy with the battery on.

It comes with Quicktime Player, Windows Media Player and you can choose what programme you want to use to watch your films, listen to your music etc. The 120gb harddrive is a massive amount. I\'ve got over 300 songs stored and my memory and harddrive space is still fine. I\'m using this wirelessly through Virgin which I purchased a Linksys wireless box so no wires hanging out at the back of my laptop!! My partner is also using his laptop wirelessly so the connections are great too. People think Acer are a basic computer manufacturer, I can honestly say this isn\'t the case! This is the 2nd Acer laptop I\'ve owned I\'d never swap to anything else! Overall this is a fantastic laptop, once you use Windows Vista you\'ll never look back. ...Acer have come a long way and you can tell they have put so much effort in giving the comsumer great products. This is shown in their technology. The Acer Aspire 3661 wlmi is a great laptop for first time users and at a fantastic price is more than value for money. I brought this computer for the wife who as little PC experience and wow how quickly she has progressed using this laptop. I have taken full advantage of the built in WIFI so the Aspire is taken everywhere around the household. It runs at about 1.5ghz which sounds a little slow but dont let that fool you, built in PCI Express makes it run 4 times faster than traditonal PCI. The Acer Arcade (softwhere) multimedia suite is fun to use and very easy. it caters for all your needs like photo's and playing you dvds. So many more features but i will leave you all to experiance... Read review

...I bought my Acer because I'm an F1 fan, and they sponsor Ferrari. I guess I was conned by the marketing man! For the first 6 or 7 months my Acer worked perfectly, it was fast and had no problems whatsoever. Then things started to go wrong. 1) The screen is weak, cracks began to appear at the bottom on both sides. 2) The CD drive pops out every few minutes for no reason. I have contacted Acer who acknowledged it was an inherent problem with the Aspire, yet there is no fix. 3) I have had to reset it twice, due to unexplained slowing up in the processor. 4) The standby sensor on the lid has stopped working altogether. There were also some longstanding annoyances: Although there is a 'bluetooth' button on the front, this is not included in the package. ...The Acer Aspire 5715Z is my 5th laptop computer and ive owned it since new for roughly six months and so far i can honestly give it a thumbs up. It comes with alot of features as standard, which includes a built in webcam featuring Crystal Eye Technology (Just means the picture is sharper) and a Crystal Brite LCD screen which is very bright and sharp. This acer was much cheaper than its rivals with similar features and spec. So far its been lightning fast in its processing speeds and quality, and i think is has only froze once. Reliability is awesome both internally and externally. Its a very hard wearing laptop when compared with my previous laptops from the likes of Sony, Dell, Compaq and Toshiba. Ease of use is a no brainer, with buttong for wireless on/off, internet access, volume, brightness etc all easily visable on the keyboard... Read review

...I bought this laptop not too long ago from littlewoods for £399. It has been a great little laptop so far and i have had no problems with it. It is fairly light and compact and has a great clear in built webcam which comes in very usefull for messenger programs such as "MSN".It comes with windows vista installed and other software such as microsoft works and microsoft office trial version.I love this laptop and use it altot it is very quick and its battery lasts for around 2 hours.it is a very nice looking laptop with a wide glossy screen. it has the capability to play dvds and write to cds or dvds.It has an inbuilt wireless network card which i am constantly using and it works very well. I would recomend it to anyone who is looking for an affordable yet very clever little laptop.... Read review

...is useful. That said, it lacks the sharpness and obvious quality of many of the VAIO screens I have seen. Pixel refresh seems slightly slow, with some after images appearing when watching movies, though only rarely. The processing speed of this unit is excellent, definitely a fast machine, and recommended for those unwilling to choose the added weight and reduced battery life of a faster and or 64-bit machine. The only issue I have had with this machine is in software. For some strange reason, Acer has seen fit to set the system up in Fat 32 despite it being fully capable of NTFS. This is disappointing, particularly as I am in need of the large file allowances. Also, there seemed to be rather a lot of preinstalled programs that were not hugely useful. Also, a significant chunk of the hard drive had been reserved for a restore partition, though... Read review

...This is the Acer Aspire 3613WLMi laptop computer. Stats it gives on the actual laptop seem like a good place to start: Intel Celeron M Processor 370 (1.5GHz, 400 MHz FSB, 1MB L2 cache) 15.4" WXGA CrystalBrite TFT LCD 40GB DVD-Dual double layer (Supports DVD+R Double layer/ DVD+/-RW) 512MB DDR2 (support dual-channel) 802.11 b/g wireless LAN Right so the laptop itself is pretty decent even if a little dated by now. It runs fine and at a decent speed. It has enough RAM at 512MB to not have to worry about it being able to run things unless you're after brand new games. The laptop I have is just used for text and photo editing work which it can handle absolutely perfectly. It contains a DVD rewriter in the side which works very well. I have had problems with all other DVD rewriters but this works very well through Windows Media Player... Read review

...'s still portable. It has an amazingly big hard drive space of 80GB! These are just some of the things which add to the excitement of using the laptop. Disadvantages The Acer Aspire has a satisfactory monitor size of 15.4 inches but because of that, it makes the laptop very bulky and hard to carry about. Carry cases are handy for when you want to travel with your laptop, but be aware of the size. As time and generationsare moving on, I think that Taiwan have to seriously think about the type of processor they use on their pieces of equipment because the Acer Aspire only has a mere Intel Pentium M Processor compared to the new Core 2 Duo which I plan to get in the near future. Overall, I am pleased with the work the company have put into this product and so there aren't many more disadvantages apart from the ones I have already mentioned... Read review

...This is the second Travelmate i have owned (the first being the similar Travelmate 8000) and it is the best i have used so far. Below is a list of the things i like and don't like about the product: Pros: Large Screen - good for watching films and also doing technical work (ie drawings and graphs) Hi-spec enough to be quick Card reader is really useful - we seem to have about very different memory card these days!!!!
