...Apple mac-books, where to start... ok, so to start, it is an apple, that means you get a solid quality product and on the whole very good customer are. this particualar apple is deffinatly more suited to being a media center than other laptops. At first glance you realise that it is a fairly large laptop, this allows for a big screen, which being an apple ffers clear vivid displays, unfortunatly the big screen increases the overal size and also uses more battery, however, the 4.5 hour yattery is still very good for an entertainment laptop. The laptops technical specs include a very fast 2.5 ghz dual core proccesor which is very fast, the dual core allows it to tackle multiple tasks quicly as well as increasing the overall speed of the laptop. For the price.... Perfect. The acer Aspire 5738ZG

Advantages: ram, processor speed, design, screen, price
Disadvantages: none so far

...for most people. It has a built in webcam too which gives quite a good picture. The mouse could be better, it goes a little mental at times but nothing to worry about and it does its job. The keyboard is fine and easy to use. Battery life is not fantastic, mine lasts about 2.5 hours. Its lightweight too. Though a largish laptop, its quite portable due to its weight. What I also like is its fast start up and turn off. Very nice. Its easy to use too. Vista runs smoothly. The machine cost me £379 at PC world, refurbished. I couldnt have got better for the price and specifications given. You wont find 4 gb RAM and core due 2 processor with 250gb hard disk at this price. I dare you to try. Maybe in a few years. ...on the chunky size! However when you pick this up you can really feel how thin it is, however this doesn't mean its flimsy, and its actually really good build quality. Its weight is 2.8 kg, which isn't heavy but to say its quite a small laptop, this shows you how well built it is, and acer have put a lot of effort into it durability. When I first got to use one of these, I noticed how quickly it started up, this is probably due to its great 2 gb of built in ram. This can even be upgraded to a massive 4 gb if needed. ...In my opinion, the Apple Macbook Pro is an ideal laptop. As a student, I find that it meets all my needs - I can store plenty of music, photos etc even though I bought the cheapest one with the smallest memory. The system operates very fast and comes with both Firefox and Safari. My only criticism is that it only comes with textedit and so you have to buy iWorks for around £65. However, despite this it is good value for money and I don't regret spending my 2 years worth of part-time earnings on it! It has everything I want from a laptop and is ideally portable and good for watching films despite the smaller screen size.
