Acer Aspire 9100
Review of Acer Aspire 9100 by  Martinscholes

Advantages: Fantastic laptop
Disadvantages: One or two minor niggles

...The Acer Aspire 9100 is, it has to be said, an attractive little beastie. It has a small footprint, a nice silver case and is suitable for playing games on, due to the ATI graphics chip with 128MB on it. It also makes use of Inten Centrino, mobile technology ™ and is specially designed for Windows XP. (Aren't they all, these days?!) What are the technical specifications? The screen is good. Better than my previous laptop. It is a 15.4" WXGA Acer CrystalBrite colour TFT LCD screen with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution. And it really does show! It has 16.7 million colours and supports "simultaneous multi-window viewing via Acer GridVista" Yes, of COURSE it does! (Silly me!) There's also the option of having a built-in TV tuner, with an aerial socket on the rear of the computer. As I say, the graphics capabilities are good... Read review

Acer Aspire 3613WLMi
Review of Acer Aspire 3613WLMi - Celeron M 370 1.5 GHz - 15.4" TFT by  danfellowes

Advantages: Practical
Disadvantages: Improveable

...This is the Acer Aspire 3613WLMi laptop computer. Stats it gives on the actual laptop seem like a good place to start: Intel Celeron M Processor 370 (1.5GHz, 400 MHz FSB, 1MB L2 cache) 15.4" WXGA CrystalBrite TFT LCD 40GB DVD-Dual double layer (Supports DVD+R Double layer/ DVD+/-RW) 512MB DDR2 (support dual-channel) 802.11 b/g wireless LAN Right so the laptop itself is pretty decent even if a little dated by now. It runs fine and at a decent speed. It has enough RAM at 512MB to not have to worry about it being able to run things unless you're after brand new games. The laptop I have is just used for text and photo editing work which it can handle absolutely perfectly. It contains a DVD rewriter in the side which works very well. I have had problems with all other DVD rewriters but this works very well through Windows... Read review

THE INSPIRED ACER ASPIRE
Review of Acer Aspire 3003LC - Mobile Sempron 3000+ 1.8 GHz - 15" TFT by  premier7

Advantages: Stylish Looking - Great Value For Money - Practical
Disadvantages: Limited processing speed - No Microsoft Office

...pleasing laptop that fulfills all my work and personal needs. I am sure that anybody looking for a laptop to fulfill basic functions such as work, internet browsing, e-mail etc will be more than happy with the Acer Aspire. The only person that I feel would not be particularly suited to the Acer Aspire would be people that enjoy PC video gaming. I think that the processing power of this laptop would simply be overwhelmed by the new PC gaming. I hope this review provides some insight into the Acer Aspire 3003 LC even if I haven't gone into too much depth in terms of technological details. Overall : 7.5/10... Read review

Acer Aspire 2920 Aspire to one
Review of Acer Aspire 2920 by  raregreyastra

Advantages: Large Hard Drive and RAM, fast ,good range of features
Disadvantages: No anti glare screen ,keys a little small lack some positiveness

...Despite having a home pc it is sometimes necessary to have access to one when not at home I therefore decided the time had come to invest in a laptop. Like desktops there are numerous makes models and specifications available. As with a lot of things it is a balancing act between prices and features and eventually I chose the Acer Aspire 2920 Which I paid £460 for by shopping around About the Acer 2920 By laptop standards it might not be the smallest or lightest available but do not let that deter you from giving it due consideration so what do you get for your money At first view you get a stylish looking piece of equipment it has a glossy black finish which makes a change a lot seem to be a silver /grey colour When you lift the lid you might be a bit disappointed by the interior I know I was the keyboard and surround is a matt... Acer Aspire 3003lc
Review of Acer Aspire 3003LC - Mobile Sempron 3000+ 1.8 GHz - 15" TFT by  djfost

Advantages: Cheap, Reasonably Powerful, Looks Good
Disadvantages: Short Battery Life, Poor Graphics, Widescreen Case but NOT a wide screen

...The Acer Aspire was one of the cheapest laptops that I could find when I looked into purchasing a basic laptop for my school work earlier this year. In fact, it was the cheapest model that Acer made, and it shows in the features that it has, and doesn't have. It features a nice bright 15 inch screen that is good for watching movies, viewing pictures and general internet surfing. However, the model above features a great glossy LCD that is perfect for a laptop of this size, which brings me on to my next point. Unfortunately, like many manufacturers, Acer has used the similar case for many of its' laptops including the model above with the widescreen, therefore, the case is quite wide in comparison to the standard style (squarer) screen. Networking. Nowadays with the internet and all, access and connectivity is paramount when... Read review

Acer Aspire 5612WLMi: Media Centre Edition
Review of Acer Aspire 5612WLMi - Core Duo T2300 1.66 GHz - 15.4" TFT by  jackcurran

Advantages: Low price, fast perfomance, good battery life
Disadvantages: FAT32 disc formatting,

...The Acer Aspire 5612WLMi offers the advantages of a Intel Core Duo processor, the T2300, combined with 1GB of RAM and an ample 100GB hard disk, and of course a DVD-RW and Wireless networking. Coming in at a budget price. Packaging The box for the 5612 is of a simple design and the laptop is very well packaged within. It is securely fixed with polystyrene to hold the laptop in position and the manual, driver cds and power supply contained well. Setup Once removed from the box the first thing to do is to charge the laptop. When turned on for the first time an Acer walkthrough takes you through the setup and registration. An opportunity is provided to create a backup disc that will take the system back to its factory settings if problems are encountered later on. Performance The Intel Duo processor combined with 1GB of RAM... Read review

the acer aspire, 5633
Review of Acer Aspire 5633WLMi - Core 2 Duo T5500 - 15.4" TFT by  techno_man_37

Advantages: looks, speed
Disadvantages: battery life!!

...This review is on the acer aspire 5633WLMi. This is an all round good laptop and even though this has great specifications, you can get it for around £450-£500. When I first came across this laptop I noticed how sleek it really looks, and the picture of it on ciao really doesn't do it any justice. When companies make laptops with only one colour of plastic it somehow really annoys me, however acer have designed this to be black and silver, this just makes the laptop look so much better and so much more modern that those one tone old laptops. The top part of the laptop around the screen is black and the bottom is silver, but with a black keyboard which makes it look great. The shape is actually really thin, especially since a lot of acers older aspires and travel mates have been a little on then chunky side, ok then, a lot... Read review

Acer Aspire 3003LC
Review of Acer Aspire 3003LC - Mobile Sempron 3000+ 1.8 GHz - 15" TFT by  FrankBee

Advantages: Great for new users, looks good, light and good value for money
Disadvantages: None so far

...Acer Aspire 3003LC - Mobile Sempron 3000+ 1.8 GHz - 15" TFT Other than the word "Acer" I bet the newbie buyer hasn't got a clue what the rest of the above means. In fact trudging round Currys, Comet and PC World looking for a laptop, the descriptions may as well have been in ancient Greek. The fact is that, other than the price, there is almost no understandable information available from manufacturers and retailers. Shop assistants, if and when found, seem to drift into the same meaningless drivel. So why did a non-techy choose the Acer. Well because it looked good, was on budget and the man in Comet was friendly and it came with his recommendation. At home the Acer started first time and Windows Vista was welcoming and straight forward to set up. In fact we expected to have to load discs but this has now been done away with... Read review
