...Fantastic, reliable, affordable, stylish laptop. I\'ve had this laptop for a few months, I purchased it from Comet at a price of £499 including Saturday delivery. It comes with a 15.4 inch LCD screen which gives a beautiful picture - colours are truly amazing. 120gb harddrive, DVD player which supports DVD+-R Double Layer/DVD+-RW, 1gb RAM and is wireless. The best part is it comes with Windows Vista Home Premium - an absolute must have for home users. The games which are pre installed are great for young children, teenagers and even for us adults. If 30 GB still isn’t enough for you I would recommend that you buy an external hard drive, I have seen 80 GB hard drive for around £50 on the high street which would boost the memory to 110 GB, more than enough for any one. Ram This laptop comes with a 512 MB ram which again compared to some computers may seem small, but again remember this is only a laptop, and again it is a budget laptop. To be honest I have found that a 512 MB ram has been more than enough to meet my needs and I tend to use a lot of programmes at the same time. ...Virtually every Computer owner who has a CDR or CDRW included on their system will know about Easy CD Creator in its various incarnations, and this new version will not disappoint. Installing is straight forward, the program is large at over 400 MB but in these days of massive hard discs that should not be a problem. More of an issue is the 300+ page manual that comes with the software; you would have to be a real masochist to read it cover to cover. Once Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator 6 Platinum is installed the first thing you will notice is the look. The graphics are rounded and colourful, (similar to Windows XP); also there is a little box in the left hand bottom corner of the desktop which is the “Drag to disc” part of the program. ...I have just been given an Acer Travelmate 4000 to replace my aging AJP laptop. I am told it cost £700 with a 3 year warranty. First Impressions were good its looks nice with a good standard of design. The screen is bright with a 1280x800 wide xga resolution it has good contrast both under the fluorescent lights at work and sat outside at the local coffee shop. Software support wasn’t great, it came preinstalled with Windows XP home the only bundled applications were Acers management software, cd/dvd authoring software (for use with the DVD +- RW drive. Also bundled was a copy of Powerdvd for watching movies. There was no office software, which cause a little problem. I solved this by downloading a copy of open office. The laptop is powered by a Intel Centrino. The processor is a 1.5ghz Celeron with inbuilt wireless... Read review

...Having reviewed the No 1 in the world cd repair tool and found out it was a flop and waste of money, I have tried a few other techniques. This review is on the Procare CD/DVD repair kit found at Maplin and possibly other stores. ~ The kit ~ You get the cd repair too itself which is motorised, you get the adapter, cd sanding discs, cd buffing discs and cleaning fluid. It comes in a nice flat box that is easy to store after use. ~ How it works ~ This is slightly different to the worlds No1 cd repair tool in that it appears to look like a cd walkman, you put the sanding discs in first and then put the scratched cd in with label facing up. Close the lid, plug power in and the press the on button. The tool will start sanding the disc to remove the scratch and will be done in three minutes, once finished take a look... Read review

Headphone and earphone sockets are also conveniently located near at the front, as are the stereo speakers. There are three USB ports on the right hand side of the laptop, along with a further one on the left hand side, which is plenty for a portable machine. The included software is excellent for getting started with the machine, although I did not find myself wanting to use all of it. It comes with Works 8, Autoroute 2005, Money, MS Word, NTI CD/DVD Burning software, Encarta 2005, and more. When I got the laptop, it's fair to say that it seemed to work at a blistering rate. Advantages: Cheap As Chips and Powerful Enough Desktop Replacement

...Type III PCMCIA socket(s), IrDA, firewire and audio/mic jacks. The Laptop comes preloaded with XP Home edition, and comes with a variety of software included. Norton Antivirus, NTI CD/DVD maker and Acers' Arcade, which appears to be a stop gap between XP and Windows Media Centre O/S. In usage the battery performs very well, and a 100% battery will last in the region of 4 hours with just regular internet or Home office usage! I am also impressed with the quality of the onboard graphics chip, having just been playing the older version of Medal Of Honour. I know it wouldnt run the latest version, but i didnt expect it to run the older Allied Assualt one either, so another plus point me thinks! All in all I would heartily recommend this laptop to anyone looking for a second PC, or a desktop replacement. If your a serious gamer... Read review
