Acer doesn't live up to the proud Ferrari name
Review of Acer Ferrari 3200 by
Vicster1784
Advantages: Looks good, lots of connectivity options
Disadvantages: Slow, short battery life, Athlon CPU
...I first saw this laptop in a PC magazine last year. It may have not been this exact model, but the radical Ferrari styling caught my eye and intrigued me. A couple of months ago a friend of mine, upset at the fact that he couldn’t afford a real Ferrari decided to settle down with a consolation purchase and get this Ferrari styled laptop – the Acer 3200. Sadly, unlike it motor counterpart, this laptop feels more like a Vauxnall Nova stuck in a Ferrari’s body.
Design
Design is this laptop’s strongest feature. It’s bright red exterior stands out and looks shiny and smooth, thanks to a scratch-resistant coating. The inside of the case is made from something known as silver-magniesium alloy, which not only sounds cool but is also quite strong (like Wolverine’s claws I’m guessing). Ferrari’s logo is subtly situated in the bottom right...

Is the Acer an ace?
Review of Acer Ferrari 4005WLMi - Turion 64 mobile technology ML-37 2 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
sexyjw
Advantages: Looks great. Gorgeous screen.
Disadvantages: Not very upgradeable. Bluetooth mouse unreliable.
...I bought my Acer Ferrari laptop in October 2005 - plenty of time to have forged a decent opinion of it. My ratings are based on my opinion of the machine NOW, compared to the speed and performance of contemporary computers.
I wanted something that had enough power to play games and do anything else I wanted. When bought, I had intended it to be capable of becoming a desktop replacement - that didn't happen, as, being a bit of a hardware junkie, the desktop machine has continued to get more and more powerful.
Anyway...back to the Acer. I was so excited when it arrived. You see, since getting my first 8-bit computer in 1983, I've never actually had a brand new, complete computer. I've either got hold of second hand PCs, or I've built my own desktop machine from scratch - I prefer it that way. That's obviously not feasible...

Ferrari, Zoom, Zoom, Zoom
Review of Acer Ferrari 3000LMi - Athlon XP-M 2500+ 1.86 GHz - 15" TFT by
Cookeecookie
Advantages: Looks good, functions brilliantly, v.v.v.v.loud speakers :-)
Disadvantages: Gets very very hot, poor cooling and air flow, bit dated technologically :-(
...I bought mine on ebay for £360, I needed it for university study and it's working really well for small documents like word and excel and it will also play some games well, mainly Unreal Tournament online :-)
The disk space of 60GB is plenty for me. The main reason I bought it was because a friend of mine had bought a new Acer computer and when we wanted to watch videos or listen to music the sound on it was like a whisper even at full volumn, the Ferrari however is really really loud!!!
For its age I think it is really good, it looks good and the keyboard and pad are easy and comfortable to use, but as the other reviewer said it does heat up a lot, and the fan is on full power most of the time, I am going to hopefully solve this problem by buying a cooling pad to fit underneath it with extra fans hopefully it will run a lot...

!!!EXCELLENT LAP TOP!!!
Review of Acer Ferrari 1005WTMi - Turion 64 X2 TL-60 2 GHz - 12.1" TFT by
whosdexter92
Advantages: In on word. BRILLIANT
Disadvantages: N/A
...'t really go into much great detail,
the memory is great and the speed is fine The laptop I got had Java already installed and all the windows i needed like word, exel, powerpoint. with two Usb ports its great if you have a web cam or a mouse.
The touch mouse can be a pain but apart from that its all good.
The Acer Ferrari 1005wtmi cost around £1000 - £999.99. Its expensive but well worth it! Good luck on buying a laptop if you are.
Thank you,
Dexter....

Formula 1 Racer-Acer
Review of Acer Aspire 3003WLMi - Mobile Sempron 3000+ 1.8 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
Sgathach
Advantages: Big Memory, small price.
Disadvantages: 1.5 hour batttery life
...Acer Aspire 3003WLMI
This starts with a few technical details, If you just want to know if it works I'll just say yes before I start and give you more details later; no good you reading at the beginning what I think of it and how it works if it's not got the specs you are looking for. I hope you find this review useful.
In order to review this laptop I must include information taken from the Acer Website, this is to help the reader evaluate the manufacturer as well as the product.
For some strange reason Acer does not seem to be well know to people who are looking to buy a new computer. I wonder if they would change their minds if they knew that Acer is in fact the official supplier of computers and systems to the Formula One Maranello team. (You can in fact buy special "Ferrari" Laptops).
Acer is one of the global leaders...

Heated Up?!!
Review of Acer Ferrari 3000LMi - Athlon XP-M 2500+ 1.86 GHz - 15" TFT by
Deviant1
Advantages: High performance, good looks.
Disadvantages: Heats up very quickly.
...My uncle has bought this notebook recently and I am quite sure he is happy at his purchase. The Ferrari 3000 has a bright red lid, and sports the distinct yellow Ferrari logo on the bottom-right corner and a silver Acer logo embossed in the centre. The base and the inside panel are done in metallic silver, with another Ferrari logo on the bottom panel. The red and silver dual-tone finish makes it the most distinctive looking notebook you can lay your hands on. A red optical USB mouse also sporting a Ferrari logo, is bundled. The keyboard is recessed into the base, but is tactile and a breeze to use. The touchpad is very smooth and integrates a steel finished four-way scroll key. There are four launch keys that control the browser, the e-mail client and the other two are programmable. The Ferrari comes pre loaded with Windows XP Home Edition...

why acer are outselling dell
Review of Acer Aspire 4920-1A2G12Mi - Core 2 Duo T5250 1.5 GHz - 14.1" TFT by
techno_man_37
Advantages: cheap, great spec
Disadvantages: could have better processor
...Acer is a company that’s growing stronger and stronger by the day, a few years ago I wouldn’t have even considered buying an acer, but now acer are starting to over take dell in laptop sales and its mostly down to their fair prices, as well as their great build quality. Sure dell might still make better laptops, but acer are more the peoples laptop brand offering lots of variety at affordable prices.
This so called gemstone design is anew one from acer and is being used in more and more of their laptops because of its popularity with customers. It does have split opinions however, some love it and some people really cant stand the look of it. I however think its great, its black and cream colour, with a lovely glossy lid looks cool and very neat and tidy. Also what I like about this Is its clearly a design that acer has...

Quality product from acer
Review of Acer AL1714 by
PlipPlop
Advantages: Great picture, value for money, takes up little space
Disadvantages: Speakers aren't loud enough
...it which obviously makes it more comfortable to use.
Quite a good design feature on this monitor is that it is VESA wall mountable. You don't actually get the mount with the product but can buy online for around £30.
Obviously with this monitor there is also a bog standard menu system to adjust brightness, contrast, focus, position & screen save.
****Pros****
Size, picture quality & value for money.
****Cons****
Sound quality
****Summary****
About a month after I bought this screen I was offered a £1,000 screen from my friends company that was closing down for £90. I bought one off him for my brother and tested it out. This screen had only been used on a couple of occasions but still didn't match the picture quality of this screen which only cost me £120. I'm actually very impressed with acer after buying...

Acer AL 1716
Review of Acer AL1716as by
Deal_lion
Advantages: Great image, and size
Disadvantages: None
..., when the new changes were applied they happened instantly which is very good. Also when opening pages this monitor has a 8ms reaction time which is much better than other monitors.

Acer Aspire 9100
Review of Acer Aspire 9100 by
Martinscholes
Advantages: Fantastic laptop
Disadvantages: One or two minor niggles
...my wife and I have Acer Aspire 9100 computers, and the bouncing cursor problem is also noticeable on both machines.
In short, it is a handy lightweight machine, slightly letdown on some points. The lack of an obvious emergency rest button being one of them. They should cost around £1,000 including VAT.
Incidentally, it can be upgraded....
