Acer doesn't live up to the proud Ferrari name

Advantages: Looks good, lots of connectivity options

...I first saw this laptop in a PC magazine last year. It may have not been this exact model, but the radical Ferrari styling caught my eye and intrigued me. A couple of months ago a friend of mine, upset at the fact that he couldn?t afford a real Ferrari decided to settle down with a consolation purchase and get this Ferrari styled laptop ? the Acer 3200. Sadly, unlike it motor counterpart, this laptop feels more like a Vauxnall Nova stuck in a Ferrari?s body. Design Design is this laptop?s strongest feature. It?s bright red exterior stands out and looks shiny and smooth, thanks to a scratch-resistant coating. The inside of the case is made from something known as silver-magniesium alloy, which not only sounds cool but is also quite strong (like Wolverine?s claws I?m guessing). Acer Aspires To Be A Proper Laptop, And Nearly Pulls It Off

Nice laptop, FAB extended warranty!

...This laptop is quite expensive so only invest in it if you seriously use a lot of power. I think i spent £700 on it but it's worth it, I've had it a year and it's still top of it's range beating any commercial laptop. WIth 4GB RAM, 380GB storage 2.0GHz processing power this laptop is good for it's time although with all this power it's quite a heavy thing so if your looking for portability I wouldn't recommend this one, I've had to leave it at my flat going home sometimes as it's just to heavy to carry and travel with it. If it's sheer power your after then this is the one for you, It's good for gaming and making music, watching films etc with a HDMI output to link to the TV having dual monitors or just to use to watch a film on the big screen with full HD. ...The Dell Inspiron 1545 is an easy to use entry level laptop. Unlike two years ago when I bought my previous laptop, you can now get a number of Dell computers (of which this is one) direct from high street retailers. This is good if you want it in a rush and want a nearby place to handle any issues, but has the disadvantage that you can't customise your laptop to your own requirements to the same extent that you can if you buy it direct from Dell (which takes several weeks). Because Dell are so good at allowing customisation, you need to be very careful when you buy that you actually get the one you need - they are not all the same, so you can't just go into a shop and say "Give me your Inspiron 1545" - you need to be sure that it e.g. has a suitable processor, enough memory and a big enough hard drive for your needs. ...I for one, absolutely love the look of this acer. The bottom of the laptop just looks really cool, and the top looks ok too. One only criticism on the look, would be that the plastic at the tip of the screen is a little thick, but then again it does have a built in webcam, so I suppose that makes up for it. This is a very compact travel mate, with only a 14.1\" TFT active matrix screen, however the quality of this screen is great. This laptop isn't really that fast to be honest, however if your not using memory demanding programs or wanting to play new games on it then maybe its 512mb of built in ram is good enough for you. ...I received this laptop as a birthday gift to help with school 2 years ago, however being a keen gamer, I was quick to try out some of the latest video games to test out how far I could push the laptop... of course laptops aren't generally for gaming usage but the Ferrari 4000 certainly has the capability to play games on fair graphical settings. Despite blasting hot air out of the fan on the left when you start running anything too demanding, you can use powerplay functions (with the ATI mobility video vard) to reduce performance and increase battery life, which also cools the fan down. This of course is useful for my main need was with school work and therefore won't always have a plug nearby. Playing video games causes the laptop to get very hot after a while, therefore if you intend to run demanding applications I recommend...
