Acer plays the Ace card again!

Advantages: Small, lightweight, great performer. Can handle some 3D games.
Disadvantages: None for the Netbook, but Linux version is rubbish.

...I have revised my review after using the netbook for a while. I purchased the Acer A150 because I was going on a cruise and wanted something small and light. I decided on the Linux version of this netbook for £235, the Windows XP version is around £269. The Operating System First thing I need to say about it is Linux, what a joke with its limited functions and the hassle you need to go through to add new features. I wanted DivX support so I could watch movies at night but after a few hours looking for a suitable program and drivers I gave up. Linux isn't as straightforward as Windows and in many cases you have to open up a console and type commands when you want to install or make changes to an installation. ...After researching laptops for months and months to find a suitable model to use for university, i settled comfortably with the acer aspire, as it has many advantages compared to other laptops with similar specifications. For my course i need a lot of memory, and so the 250GB hardrive was a big attraction for me. The laptop in fact has two separate drives each with over 100GB of disk space. This allows you to separate your data appropriately, for example i keep all of my media such as music on pictures on the D drive while i install my programmes and keep important data on the C drive. I had never come across this condition before until my eldest son (5) was diagnosed with the condition at birth. He was critically ill at birth and spent the next 10 days in the Special Care Baby Unit, having blood transfusions, and getting a suntan under UV lights. My second child (13 months) was also diagnosed with the same condition at birth, he thank goodness was not as seriously ill as his older brother. I have to add that not every baby born with this condition will react the same way as my children did.
