Disadvantages: no bluetooth. memory will need upgrading if moving on to Windows Vista

...First off what an easy to use laptop full of built in features for a very reasonable price ( £349.99 upwards) was £380 when i purchased mine but is worth every penny. Why people pay in excess of £500 for machines with a lower spec is beyond me. Acer have come a long way in providing great quality laptops at a lower price. on first run you follow the setup options and then it recommends you create a restore disc i did this using 2 blank dvd's with ease just following the on screen instructions. once this was complete i did the windows updates to get it fully upto date. The inbuilt wireless adapter (Atheros AR5005G Wireless Network Adapter) connects so easy to my wireless network with a reasonable range even in the garden. ...My second attempt at a technical product review focuses on my Acer 17" TFT Monitor AL1711. I bought it as part of a computer package around 12 months ago - purchased seperately it will set you back around £325 incl VAT. My knowledge on computer components and accessories at that time was pretty basic to say the least, so I relied entirely on the expertise of a very capable sales assistant at a trusted, highly praised specialist shop on the outskirts of Shrewsbury. The basic package didn't include a flat screen monitor so I paid around £180 extra as I wanted to avoid the eyestrain and headaches so often experienced with conventional screens. ...This is the Acer Aspire 3613WLMi laptop computer. Stats it gives on the actual laptop seem like a good place to start: Intel Celeron M Processor 370 (1.5GHz, 400 MHz FSB, 1MB L2 cache) 15.4" WXGA CrystalBrite TFT LCD 40GB DVD-Dual double layer (Supports DVD+R Double layer/ DVD+/-RW) 512MB DDR2 (support dual-channel) 802.11 b/g wireless LAN Right so the laptop itself is pretty decent even if a little dated by now. It runs fine and at a decent speed. It has enough RAM at 512MB to not have to worry about it being able to run things unless you're after brand new games. The laptop I have is just used for text and photo editing work which it can handle absolutely perfectly. It contains a DVD rewriter in the side which works very well. I have had problems with all other DVD rewriters but this works very well through Windows... Read review

...I had this monitor sent to me by Acer after my previous monitor, the AL1914 was deemed beyond repair. My first thoughts were of excitement as the 1951 was of a considderably higher spec than the old monitor. My excitement became a reality when I got the monitor set up. On opening the box, I found the monitor itself, the power supply, and both a VGA and DVI cable. The stand was already pre-fixed to the monitor and this also doubles up as a wall mounting bracket, should you wish to attach the monitor to the wall. On the back of the base there are sockets for the mains power supply, one for the VGA cable, one for the DVI cable and one for an audio feed, should you wish to make use of the monitors internal speaker. Advantages: Big Memory, small price.

...is fantastic, the first thing I did when I switched it on was bung a DVD in it to see how it played and looked. And from there I was hooked, adjusting the volume only required the use of "Hot Keys" another point about this computer is that it comes with a really easy to read and understand user's guide. The official spec for the screen is 15.4" WXGA ACER Crystalbite TFT LCD. (Doesn't that sound lovely?) I then tried playing a C.D; again this was excellent, but I wouldn't say that the sound was "A good Stereo quality". The sound card is 2. = stereo speakers, two small stereo speakers and one woofer bass speaker. 5.1 = five small speakers for realistic (It says) home cinema sound. (I thought the movie sounded better right enough than the C.D playing) It also purports to be good for games, but me I'll never find that out, it's something I don't do... Read review

...I recently purchased the acer aspire 9301 and so far i have been very impressed with my shiny new gadget. I picked out this model as after trying other ones that were available including the more expensive sony viao i decided that by buying the viao i wouldnt be gaining anything just wasting money on a fashion accesory. The Acer offers everything that you could possibly want and more and comes with a much more modest price tag. BASIC DESCRIPTION The 9301 certainly looks the part with its sleek silver and black exterior shell, 17 inch crysral brite tft display screen and a fabulous built in camera which swivels 225 degrees which allows the user to photograph themselves or someone sitting oposite them and can be used both for still shots and as a webcam. These features are enchanced greatly by the computers huge 120 gb hard drive... Read review
