...I had this laptop for a while and it was the perfect machine i could ask for whilst it was mine. Before you ask, NO, i did not throw it away! i gave it to my sister and brought another desktop pc for myself. The Design Acer always seem to make nice looking machines in my opinion and this is no exception.The Travelmate 5520G-5A1G12 is a stylish laptop in full black casing apart from the mouse scrolling interface. ...This is the second Travelmate i have owned (the first being the similar Travelmate 8000) and it is the best i have used so far. ...this is acers new try at revamping their travelmate range, and their aspire range too. this travelmate, like the others is also designed for buisness people on the move. although this is the smallest and sleekist laptop from the acer line, this laptop still isnt as sleek and cool as some of the other new laptops out their on the market today. the TravelMate 6292 301 weighs 2kg with its 6-cell battery in place which i think you will agree is a really nice leight weight laptop, if your looking for somthing to take places alot. its actual footprint on a desk is only a little bigger than apeice of a4 paper, so this is really portable. this is basically the cheaper version of the the acer travelmate 6292 302. as its 1gb of ram less. acer has made a real effort to change the design and robustness of this product. acer claim to have... Disadvantages: keyboard flimsy and the charger messed up within a year

...Excellent specifications for the price, compared to brands such as dell and sony. The Dvd burner runs a lot slower than the given speed. The wireless connection is excellent. The laptop gets regualar use by me and my kids, who can be quite heavy handed with the keyboard. three of the keys have fallen out. Support at Acer couldn't be bothered to reply to my e-mails regarding replacement keyboard. Acers website is annoyingly slow at times, i did manage to find all the necessary drivers when i had to reinstall windows. Don't try to install or even run live linux cd's as it will not for some reason recognise the Dvd/cd combi and therefore not run. The screen is also excellent. It gives a clear and crisp image. Battery life is also poor, i have found that it will not last longer than 3 hours while doing word processing. Overall... Read review

...The Acer was perfect when i first found it as i wanted just a cheap Laptop so that i could keep in contact with my fiancee when i moved away via email. The first problem i found with it is that after charging it fully, the battery will only last for an hour maximum, I rang the support number for this and was however informed that this is the case with most Laptops, Im not quite sure if this is true or not. Playing games on this laptop however is one of the better features as they play extremely well and are up to speed. However another problem i have had is that the screen tends to freeze quite often when doing the smallest of things such as writing with the word package. The look of the laptop is satisfactory and it is not to big like some of the laptops i have seen. Another problem i have had with this is that the buttons tend to fall... Read review

...This laptop is another one from the acer travelmate range . Acer as a laptop company are beginig to grow, and they are now just as well know as a lot of others, but then I first saw then in shops, my first impression, and the impression of others I asked was they seemed a bit of a cheap brand, just like netto is compared to Sainsbury's. however acer have somehow seemed to change peoples minds and even managed to change my mind somehow. If you want something sturdy, with a solid specification and in a mid price range of around £500, yet you could get one a lot cheaper now on eBay. Then this laptop could be for you. Its Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 processor runs at 2GHz which is pretty good, and its has 1 gb of ram too. This makes it a lot faster than a lot of other laptops with only 1 gb of ram though because its processor is so quick. You... Read review

...This is my favourite design so far by the acer travelmate brand. It looks a bit cooler and thinner than the other travelmates, which have previously looked a little bulky and boring. I think the main reason why it looks cooler is that its 2 different colours, black and silver, rather than being just black like the other ones. This features AMD Turion 64 X2 mobile technology TL-56 processor which runs the 2gb installed ram like a dream. Another great thing about this laptop is that the ram can be upgraded to 4gb, this isn't cheap however and could cost over £100 to upgrade it to 4gb of ram, however this would make the laptop run so much faster so if you do need a really fast laptop then this is possibly something you might think about when buying it. ...I bought my Acer 516T last yr.... and well... the performance is OK The notebk doesnt come with a 3D card.. so playing games like diablo 2 is out of the question... The sound quality is horrible.. mainly becos the speakers are awful... sound comes out all tinny.... a main selling factor of this notebk is that it can play CDs without turning the computer on... well.. if you do that.. remmeber to use headphones... cos the sound sucks Hoever, the price is quite reasonable for what you get.... i paid abt 3200 Singapore dollars..... and that was a yr ago... so its pretty gd value for money...
