It is great value for money as you will always be using it. ---THE CABLE--- The cable its self is quite strong and will last a long time however if the cable is pulled or not looked after correctly then you will break it quickly. I have had the contacts bent on mine which means the connection between the phone and the PC can not be made and so the cable is useless. ...Now iv not done a review on USB cables before, really its just never hit me that I could actually write about these and there’s also the fact that there’s not really much you can say about a cable, but ill give it a go. This is a normal printer cable which means it has two ends, one being the end which goes into any USB port in your computer or laptop, this end is the rectangle shaped end and is called a type A. ...then is it really worth saving a fiver on a cable? this is why I always go for a branded cable. I choose ACER cables as they were recomended to me by a IT proffesional (you know those people that wander arround work looking at computers and moaning about microsoft), and that I know the brand well, no other reason. The cable itself is suitably chunky and looks like it will stand up to a lot of abuse. Which the cables I purchase have over the last year since I ot broadband. This sbuse consists of being trod on daily and being attacked by hoovers and kittens (who are now cats). I am happy that I have not need to replace them with over a years worth of use and abuse, and at a cost of around £1 per meter I can't complain.... Read review

...This is my 2nd notebook computer - my first one was a Sony Vaio. I was unimpressed with the Sony's performance, as the connection inside where the power cord plugs in became loose and costs $120US just to repair! I'm not soaking that much into a notebook which is already 1.5 years old! The ACER TRAVELMATE 800LCi has been WONDERFUL! I had a TravelMate 800XCi first, but got a great deal on the LCi, so I'll be selling the other one soon. It's in great shape and was also a great performer, but this LCi is really a nice system. I enjoy the 15" screen, which is bright enough and seems to perform superbly. I enjoy being able to see more on my screen now! The 4 USB ports are great (I've only used 2 at a time so far), the speakers sound good, and the overall layout of the keyboard has taken very little getting used to. It's slightly... Read review

...INTRODUCTION I've used Acer Travelmate T202t notbooks in conjunction with my work for several years now. They were excellent value when purchased, but have obviously now been well surpassed in terms of spec. However, hopefully this review will give you some idea of the lifespan and use of these computers, and maybe you'd be able to pick one up on the cheap (I see similar models going for £100-200 on eBay which is a bargain!). SPECIFICATIONS Processor: Intel Celeron 600mhz. I've never really liked the Celeron and this unfortunately is no exception. There's nothing majorly wrong here, it's just a little slow and power consumption ain't too great at all. Doesn't get too hot mind you. Memory: 64mb RAM, not really enough for multi-tasking of any kind these days, however it runs the bundled Windows ME operating system fine... Read review

...that could connect my headset to the computer and let me use it, and this is what I did. I trudged down to my local PC world and paid a little money for a 1.8 meter Belkin Pro Series USB Extension Cable and was very very happy with it when I got home. It is very well made with a nice thick rubber protective rapping over the wire inside so unless you cut it with a knife its not going to be damaged if you full on it a little or even a allot. It supports all standard USB ports with its well made male plug (the bit that goes into the computer) and on the other end of the cable has a nice thick female port (the bit that you will stick your USB device in) I have had no problems with this cable at all, it doesn't suffer from any lag and because it has a thick cable it doesn't snap or damage if you catch it with you feet while its laying on the floor... ...Acer Travelmate 290LCi I am using this laptop currently, right now I am even typing on it I have been using this laptop for around 6 months after it was bought for my by my boyfriend who bough it off his dad for just £50 it originally started life in a school as one of their many laptops and when they updated them they were just dis-guarded. There was absolutely nothing wrong with it when I bought it and it was all wiped clean and ready to use by the time I got it. It came with Windows XP Professional already installed which is the standard operating system for this brand of laptop. Since owning this laptop it has been brilliant I had not had a laptop before this and found it great for lying in bed till late on a night on the internet, it is only very light weighing around just 2.8kg so not very heavy at all. ...techno minded, people always moan about the keyboard shape whenever they use my computer as they go to type and the keys are not where they expect them to be. It would only be a minor irritation though for most people, and for desktop use you could always plug in a separate keyboard. There are various sockets and slots, including (but not only): USB; network cable/modem; and a very handy slot which takes the card from our digital camera, so I can put the pictures straight onto my computer - very handy for listing things on eBay! (Ours is an SD card but it does take some other types too). There is also another slot (a general expansion slot, apparently) which can take a card allowing you to connect to the internet over a mobile phone network; this came in very handy when we moved house and so didn't have a phone line or broadband... ...with no dodgy cables hanging around. I recently added an extra 512MB of RAM to the unit, without any troubles. Fitting was easy and unhindered. Otherwise there is plenty of additional free space for extra cards on the motherboard, disks and drives etc. Design wise the case is all black with a brushed aluminium front. USB ports, speaker and microphone can all be accessed from the front with a number of additional ports available on the back. My pet hate is no earphone socket so having one on the front is great news. Otherwise the case is strong and durable. The unit comes with a built in card reader and a floppy. Both are more than useful these days, especially the floppy which is tending to disappear these days. Also included is a DVD/CD writer. This is as standard on most machines.
