Good value reliable PC
Review of Acer Veriton 7800 - P4 530 3 GHz by
saraharcher
Advantages: All you need in one box
Disadvantages: Not much memory
...I would like to share my experiences of my new PC. I purchased this as a replacement for my old Compaq which had died spectacularly on me.
I had been advised to buy Acer by a relative who had purchased one and had good experiences. I must say that this has proved to be sound advise.
Firstly if you are interested in purchasing one of these, do shop around for prices. I have seen prices as high as £500, I managed to get mine from Misco for £460. Please note that this price is for the PC only and does not come supplied with a monitor. Luckily I was in the position of having my old Compaq TFT monitor still working, If you do not already have a monitor, the additional cost will need to be taken into account when calculating your budget.
A mouse and keyboard are included. The mouse is your average bog standard, the keyboard supplied...

20 Purchases and every one superb!
Review of Acer Veriton FP - PIII 650 MHz - 15" TFT by
Plymyphil
Advantages: Space saved - looks
Disadvantages: Price - bang/buck
...the shelf parts cannot just be dropped into the case with these however so if you enjoy buying a PC and then going through a number of upgrade paths over the next two or three years then this may not be an advisable purchase.
As is typical of lower priced packages too, the LCD monitor whilst fine is quite clearly not the top end of the market and the quality reflects this. For work it is fine but the colours are slightly jaded when compared with my better quality LCD screen at home.
PORTABILITY
Acer do not intend these machines to be moved around as much as a laptop and their weight and bulk reflects this. They are substantially more portable than a standard desktop with large CRT monitor however they are also far less portable than the largest of laptops. As part of this weight is deliberate and supports the stability of the product...

Acer Aspire 5101AWLMi - 15.4" TFT
Review of Acer Aspire 5101AWLMi - Turion 64 mobile technology MK-36 - 15.4" TFT by
maggot13
Advantages: cheap, good quality laptop with decent features, upgradable.
Disadvantages: no bluetooth. memory will need upgrading if moving on to Windows Vista
...First off what an easy to use laptop full of built in features for a very reasonable price ( £349.99 upwards) was £380 when i purchased mine but is worth every penny. Why people pay in excess of £500 for machines with a lower spec is beyond me. Acer have come a long way in providing great quality laptops at a lower price.
on first run you follow the setup options and then it recommends you create a restore disc i did this using 2 blank dvd's with ease just following the on screen instructions. once this was complete i did the windows updates to get it fully upto date.
The inbuilt wireless adapter (Atheros AR5005G Wireless Network Adapter) connects so easy to my wireless network with a reasonable range even in the garden. The 15.4" WXGA wide CrystalBrite TFT LCD Display is just as good as its name suggests (crystal) it displays...

Formula 1 Racer-Acer
Review of Acer Aspire 3003WLMi - Mobile Sempron 3000+ 1.8 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
Sgathach
Advantages: Big Memory, small price.
Disadvantages: 1.5 hour batttery life
...Acer Aspire 3003WLMI
This starts with a few technical details, If you just want to know if it works I'll just say yes before I start and give you more details later; no good you reading at the beginning what I think of it and how it works if it's not got the specs you are looking for. I hope you find this review useful.
In order to review this laptop I must include information taken from the Acer Website, this is to help the reader evaluate the manufacturer as well as the product.
For some strange reason Acer does not seem to be well know to people who are looking to buy a new computer. I wonder if they would change their minds if they knew that Acer is in fact the official supplier of computers and systems to the Formula One Maranello team. (You can in fact buy special "Ferrari" Laptops).
Acer is one of the global leaders...

Acer Lack of Power Series
Review of Acer AcerPower Sx - PIII 866 MHz by
andycharger
Advantages: Cheap enough
Disadvantages: Unreliable
...My first ever PC that I bought myself was made by Acer. At the time, they were operating as the cheap brand pc's on sale at PC World.
They seemed to be vastly undercutting the competition although their specifications were not as high.
After months of faultless operation, It started to go wrong. This is when your problems all start with Acer.
Looks like times have not changed as I will tell you about their POWER range of modern PC's.
Background on the series.
Acer have been around in some shape or form since 1976. They have been producing Desktop PC for about 10 years.
They offer a variety of ranges of PC to the consumer and the Power range is supposed to be cutting edge performance at a discounted rate. Well let me tell you. Its not.
The Power series my mum bought is the SX. It comes with a Pentium 3 866 Mhz Processors which...

outrageous repair service by Acer UK
Review of Acer Aspire 1700 by
weijenlo
Advantages: fast, good for presentation
Disadvantages: heavy, not a real laptop, poor repair service
...I bought a Acer Aspire 1703sc laptop computer in October 2003 and the LCD screen developed a problem in January 2004. I called Acer UK to arrange a pick up for repair.
DHL picked up the computer in 19th of February 2004 and I received the computer back in 7th of March 2004.
When I opened the box I was very surprised by the way they packed the computer. They put the computer in the middle of a very big box with two layer of polyurethane foam, one in the bottom and one on the top. Then the big box was filled with some air-bags packaging materials. The computer did not secure in the box at all and was moving around during the deliver. Consequently the plastic latch on both sides of the LCD screen was broken. And more surprisingly the LCD screen did not repair at all. It still has the same problem.
I called Acer UK immediately...

Acer Aspire 3613WLMi
Review of Acer Aspire 3613WLMi - Celeron M 370 1.5 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
danfellowes
Advantages: Practical
Disadvantages: Improveable
...This is the Acer Aspire 3613WLMi laptop computer. Stats it gives on the actual laptop seem like a good place to start:
Intel Celeron M Processor 370
(1.5GHz, 400 MHz FSB, 1MB L2 cache)
15.4" WXGA CrystalBrite TFT LCD
40GB
DVD-Dual double layer
(Supports DVD+R Double layer/ DVD+/-RW)
512MB DDR2 (support dual-channel)
802.11 b/g wireless LAN
Right so the laptop itself is pretty decent even if a little dated by now. It runs fine and at a decent speed. It has enough RAM at 512MB to not have to worry about it being able to run things unless you're after brand new games. The laptop I have is just used for text and photo editing work which it can handle absolutely perfectly.
It contains a DVD rewriter in the side which works very well. I have had problems with all other DVD rewriters but this works very well through Windows...

my perfect machine is ACEr!!!
Review of Acer Aspire 5520 by
DC-DanielColeflax
Advantages: dream machine-perfect specs
Disadvantages: slightly mad touchpad, some may not like looks
...INTRO
I purchased the Acer Aspire 5520G laptop from Tesco Direct for the cost of £499, about 3 months ago. I purchased the laptop as my third laptop after two very unsuccessful Gateway Laptops earlier in 2007. These two laptops were both around £100 cheaper and as it was nearly a year ago neither of them was as high a spec as this one, which is currently around the highest spec laptop I have seen under £700, even though it cost much less than that!
The first thing that I should mention is that my laptop is a slightly different version and although it is an Acer Aspire 5520, it is the Acer Aspire 5520G version which has some slightly different features such as a slightly faster processor and a bigger hard drive than the standard 5520.
OPERATING SYSTEM
The Acer Aspire 5520G runs Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium as an operating...

My review on Acers
Review of Acer AcerPower FH - Pentium D 925 3 GHz by
thedarkened
Advantages: Fast, reliable, good graphics, excellent motherboard, runs silently
Disadvantages: Sometimes expensive
...of the hard drive constantly crunching in the background, or with the fans sounding like an American chopper is parking up just outside your front door. I can leave both of my Acer computers running through the night and I still get a restful sleep without waking up to any annoying noises.
The motherboard in Acers are excellent in my opinion. They are very easy to change components e.g. upgrading your RAM or adding a new graphics card. The components are clearly shown where to put in on the motherboards, generally with bold white writing or bold green writing, depending on the colour of your motherboard.
The only downside I can think of about Acers are that they are sometimes quite expensive, but if you look in the right places you can find them pretty cheap....

is it acer or rubbish?
Review of Acer Aspire 5103WLMi - Turion 64 X2 TL-52 - 15.4" TFT by
kineticspade
Advantages: lots
Disadvantages: touch pad mouse
...anything with it, so I took the battery out and switched it back on.
Well I was not paying all that money for that to happen, so I took it back to the shop that replaced it for me. So I tried again, but yet again the same thing happened. I actually went and spoke to someone who has a laptop and they said theirs does the same thing, and that it’s due to windows vista been faulty. So if yours does do this DO NOT BLAME THE LAPTOP.
Well enough of the start of my experience with my laptop and on with the product loll.
