Mighty Acer Veriton M464 microtower...
Advantages: fast and powerful, energy efficient, large storage space, future proof
Disadvantages: graphic card
...software (see product information).
No monitor. I believe that most people already have a decent monitor so I will not use this as a disadvantage. Yes. Even with its price tag.
Warranty is limited to - 1 year - carry-in.
My verdict: ACER Veriton M464 is perfect for private companies and academic institutions where large calculations are being performed, huge databases are being accessed, and complex problems are being solved. But this is also why would it be a great choice for anyone's everyday use and because of it's tremendous speed and power it should give you peace of mind for years to come....

...I really love to use this PC because it is so fast. It is so amazing to see and be able to use this. With all do respect, I believe that this product, the Acer Veriton M464 is the most efficient and the most poweful. Also includes the low powered with high performance processor, the Core 2 Duo E4700 2.6 GHz that loads your programs ang games even more quiter. The large memory which is embedded with a 2 GB DDR2 SDRAM so you will be able to run several programs all at the same time. Acer Aspire 5738G-644G50MN
Advantages: Bright screen,Huge memory
Disadvantages: Odd Glossy finish, annoying mouse button
...A bright 15.4 inch screen, huge hard disk, and seemingly unlimited levels of memory make this a great home laptop, this to me seems where it is best suited rather than as a business notebook. Its reasonable if not good price make this centrino laptop a very good choice.
- Windows Vista Home Premium (32 bit, Sp1)

- 250 GB Hard Drive
- DVD SuperMultiDl with BluRay disc drive
- 0.3 megapixel integrated webcam

For the price.... Perfect. The acer Aspire 5738ZG
Advantages: ram, processor speed, design, screen, price
Disadvantages: none so far
...for most people.
It has a built in webcam too which gives quite a good picture.
The mouse could be better, it goes a little mental at times but nothing to worry about and it does its job.
The keyboard is fine and easy to use. Battery life is not fantastic, mine lasts about 2.5 hours.
Its lightweight too. Though a largish laptop, its quite portable due to its weight.
What I also like is its fast start up and turn off. Very nice. Its easy to use too. Vista runs smoothly.
The machine cost me £379 at PC world, refurbished. I couldnt have got better for the price and specifications given. You wont find 4 gb RAM and core due 2 processor with 250gb hard disk at this price. I dare you to try. Maybe in a few years.
Very pleased with what I found.

Acer Aspire One = Number 1!
Advantages: Small, light, comparativley powerful
Disadvantages: No external DVD drive provided. Protective sleeve
...off battery and therefore lower brightness, this is solved by increasing the brightness (but obviously reduces battery life)
The battery is disappointing compares to the likes of the ASUS EEPC
it is only i think 2200mwh, will last about 2 hours on a full charge, however it should be possible to get a bigger 6600mwh battery at extra cost.
Performance is excellent, even though it is only a 1.6GHz CPU and 1 GB of RAM Windows XP Pro and the Linux OS fly.
Office 2007 is quick and responsive.
I can't think what else to write about it, its cheap no frills, does the job, machine. It will suit anyone on a tight budget wishing to start out on the internet, it will also suit those out on the move a lot but i do recommend getting the better battery if this is the case, or those who want a light portable computer.
For approx £250 you...

Formula 1 Racer-Acer
Advantages: Big Memory, small price.
Disadvantages: 1.5 hour batttery life
...Aspire 3003WLMI from Comet at a cost of £499.99. I could not believe what I was getting for my money. I compared it to a Toshiba Laptop at the same price and found that this model had twice the memory of the Toshiba for the same price. Seems to me that people still pay for a name and don't really check what they are getting for their money.
The Key Features are:
Processor speed: 1.8GHz
Processor: AMD Sempron
Screen Size: 15.4 Brightwidescreen.
Storage: 60GB
Records DVD's 8x
You really have to have a look at the total specification list for this Laptop to fully appreciate how good it is. For me to do that I would be only copying information available on the web. Details can be found in the product information tab here on Ciao.
All you have to do is go back one and click on the Tab header for Product information...

Good things in small packages
Advantages: Small and perfectly formed
Disadvantages: Limited upgrade path
..., and you'll probably have no difficulty in believing that 'unstable' was a bit of an understatement.
I put it to them that anything I did to resurrect the system was going to be temporary, and that they needed something with a bit more clout to see them through the next couple of years at least.
We ended up selecting a reconditioned Deskpro EN, with an 800MHz PIII processor 14Gb hard drive, and had been upgraded to 256Mb of memory.
The cost from an ebay reseller was around £120 without operating system, in a 'buy it now' auction - when it arrived, it revealed it's 'enterprise culture' heritage by arriving with a 16Mb Token Ring card installed - this was immediately pulled & stuck in my spares box - somehow I just can't bring myself to throw these out, even though they are virtually useless in the 'real world'
The system is based...

Acer Extensa 5620-1A2G12Mi
Advantages: great spec, better price.
Disadvantages: could look a little better
...This laptop is the Acer Extensa 5620-1A2G12Mi. The extensa is a new model from acer and although they have been working on it for over a year now it wasn’t until a few months ago that these laptops went on sale. I still don’t think that it’s a brand of acer laptops that most people will be familiar with yet however I think it will grow and they will get better and more and more people will buy them just like what happened with the travel mate and the aspires.
Its basically a follow up from the Acer aspire however the aspires were made mainly to keep at home and for a laptop to use around the house. These new extensa models though are not only made or that but also incorporate the design specification of the older travel mate models so that they are also quite portable so really it gives you the opportunity to use your...

Acer plays the Ace card again!
Advantages: Small, lightweight, great performer. Can handle some 3D games.
Disadvantages: None for the Netbook, but Linux version is rubbish.
..., well it's entirely up to you. The memory just now is cheap but the procedure and the way the current memory is installed may put you off. Although 1GB is installed, its actually 2 x 512 MB. One chip is installed in the only slot and the other is permanently soldered to the board. The maximum memory supported in the slot is 1 GB. So the maximum memory would be 1.5 GB. The process of installing more memory isn't as easy as a conventional laptop as you have to take the keyboard off and remove the hard drive. There are many videos on Youtube showing this. Is it worth all the hassle for only 512 MB while in the process wasting another 512 MB? That would be up to you.
In Conclusion
For a portable netbook the Acer A150 performs very well and should rightfully always be regarded as a netbook. Other reviews seem to slate its performance...

20 Purchases and every one superb!
Advantages: Space saved - looks
Disadvantages: Price - bang/buck
...DVD/CD rewriter
Floppy Disk Drive
The end effect is desktop performance in a shell a little larger and heavier than a top of the range laptop. With integral speakers at the base of the monitor the only additional attachments we have are the keyboard and mouse. We chose corded but it is of course possible and financially reasonable to go with radio products that totally clear the work space.
THE LOOKS
All feedback on the changes brought about by the purchase of these machines has been positive. We have sixteen in one room and a further four located elsewhere. Universally everybody who has seen the machines has been positive about their appearance and consequently their use of the equipment has reflected this positive attitude. With the latest processors available, these really are incredibly neat machines. We opted for PIII 750...
