Acer plays the Ace card again!

Advantages: Small, lightweight, great performer. Can handle some 3D games.
Disadvantages: None for the Netbook, but Linux version is rubbish.

...I have revised my review after using the netbook for a while. I purchased the Acer A150 because I was going on a cruise and wanted something small and light. I decided on the Linux version of this netbook for £235, the Windows XP version is around £269. The Operating System First thing I need to say about it is Linux, what a joke with its limited functions and the hassle you need to go through to add new features. I wanted DivX support so I could watch movies at night but after a few hours looking for a suitable program and drivers I gave up. Linux isn't as straightforward as Windows and in many cases you have to open up a console and type commands when you want to install or make changes to an installation. Although as with most products of this type, the value will deteriorate over time and should be able to get a cheaper version next year. Decent multi-purpose semi portable projector

Advantages: Brightness, 720p movie quality, MANY MANY inputs!, cheap replacement bulbs
Disadvantages: Loose focusing ring, not toooooo quiet at 3000 ANSI

.... The DVI & HDMI connections are perfect, both with copy protection compatibility which means Windows Media Centre and the PS3 works perfectly. Downsides? .. It%u2019s not the cheapest projector, but I reckon you'll be hard pushed to find anything this bright, with the same connectivity for this price bracket. It%u2019s not silent, but which projector at 3000 ANSI is? The focusing ring is very loose, but not a problem in a permanent installation. And the remote control was dead on arrival, but is being replaced very swiftly by Acer as I type. Go for this projector and you won't regret it. But I'm sure, as always with technology, it will be superseded soon if not now!...

Aspiring to be inspiring! Is this another Ace Acer?

Advantages: SUPERB battery life, relatively portable and very slim.
Disadvantages: For basic and general business use, not games.

Firstly, I want to make clear that the Acer Aspire 4810T is a laptop to consider for business use, or non-graphics-intensive applications such as Word, Excel and standard internet browsing. If you are expecting to be able to play the latest video games and run graphics designer packages, then you'd be better off looking at other laptops with better stats than this one. What it does have in its favour is an increased battery life of around 7 hours, possibly as much as 8 - and a very slim and portable design with a gorgeous 14" screen. It is in a word SEXY!
