Acer Aspire X3200, the Office Media PC

It has no extra hard drive space, no room for extra RAM, and the internal structure is impractical, for example, the DVD drive obscures the RAM chips meaning that to upgrade or replace RAM chips you will need to remove the DVD drive too. It does have a PCI express slot, but due to the case size you can only fit a half size card in it. Acer Aspire X3200, Good for media But its going to get old, FAST

Advantages: Fast for media, HDMI Port And 7.1 Channel Audio Support and its easy on the eyes.
Disadvantages: Small cramped case, not good for upgrading after being outdated, no good for games.

The Phenom X3 is still great for everyday use and also for Media but i think a Phenom X4 would be a very good investment. The GRAPHICS are not stunning as it says, they are basic. Dont even attempt to run a game on this, you will be angered by how slow it will run, but if you want to turn this into a gaming Pc it is possible, but you will need a way more powerful fan otherwise you will get a lot of overheating and shutting off. This Desktop Pc has some great extra features that are a essential since it is an entertainment Pc, the HDMI port for one, this is on almost every HD Ready Tv, plug this Pc into it and watch movies or anything you like all via High Definition. ...Virgin have gone down in my expectations and i am currently thinking of leaving them. When i first joined virgin media it was called telewest, i signed up to a large tv package and the internet at a cost of 40 pounds per month. This worked fine untill virgin media took over, Although they did bring better and more chanels to the table the prices went up and the customer service went down. When virgin took over they rang me to say i would be better off if i got the whole package which included xl tv, 20gb broadband and a phone line with free weekend calls as it would take my bill down to 35 pound a month, i also pay for disney cinemagic aswell so it would basically be taking 5 pound off my bill which i thought was fair enough. Since then the bill has went up and up and up! I still have the same package to which i had 4 years...

Virgin Media - Getting better...

Advantages: Basic sky channels are back!, Some good VOD content, good unlimited internet packages
Disadvantages: VOD reliability not 100%, webmail reliability & mailbox size, customer service rather 'hit or miss'

...** Important News/Update (Edit) 16/11/08:- Ok so on Thursday the basic Sky channels finally returned to Virgin Media, at least for those of us who are on the higher TV packages (their included in the L and XL packages, which are the two most expensive packages, I believe), which was good news for me! now I can access Sky1, Sky2 and Sky3 (Sky3 is also available on Freeview), as well as Sky News and Sky Sports News and for people on the XL package, we also get Sky Arts and Sky Arts2 as well as Sky Real Lives, which is nice, so obviously im quite relieved and impressed with that. Acer plays the Ace card again!

Advantages: Small, lightweight, great performer. Can handle some 3D games.
Disadvantages: None for the Netbook, but Linux version is rubbish.

..., well it's entirely up to you. The memory just now is cheap but the procedure and the way the current memory is installed may put you off. Although 1GB is installed, its actually 2 x 512 MB. One chip is installed in the only slot and the other is permanently soldered to the board. The maximum memory supported in the slot is 1 GB. So the maximum memory would be 1.5 GB. The process of installing more memory isn't as easy as a conventional laptop as you have to take the keyboard off and remove the hard drive. There are many videos on Youtube showing this. Is it worth all the hassle for only 512 MB while in the process wasting another 512 MB? That would be up to you. In Conclusion For a portable netbook the Acer A150 performs very well and should rightfully always be regarded as a netbook. Other reviews seem to slate its performance...

I went to use the phone one day and basically i had no dial tone... i rang customer services and it stated on a automated message that if you were experience problems in the ST3 area, the engineers were aware of it and were working to rectify the problem. I thought nothing of it and assumed that my line would be working pretty soon. The day after i tried it again and still no dial tone.. so i rang them again and on this occasion there was no automated message i got straight through to an advisor who ran tests on my line and said there was nothing wrong with it.
