Xbox 360 network Adapter

Advantages: Cute,Compact,Attachable
Disadvantages: Weak signal,Very expensive

...Microsoft and their proprietary products are poor performance,and too expensive.This adapter detects the same network my pc adapter detects but only 1 bar of signal.My pc adapter has 5 bars on the network.The xbox adapter must not have an omni antenna and the gain is probably 1dbi.I tried to opened this crap and put a higher gain antenna but the connector is a sub micro connector specially made for microsoft to screw us.I still could have rigged a better antenna,but i accidentally lost an ic chip trying to pry this thing apart,now there goes 70 bucks,never again. Fortunately i discovered linksys sells a universal game adapter (part number WGA54G),the adpater is also pc compatible,why isnt the xbox adapter pc compatible?Anyway,the linksys has an omni antenna and yes its removable to get a better omni.The signal is 5 to 15 times...

Xbox 360 network adapter, to buy or not?

Advantages: makes connecting to live wireless

...i bought this for £50 second hand, and i found it very easy to use and it connected to my modem in minutes, but i know not everyone connects it as easy as i did, infact i couldnt connect it to my old router when i first got an xbox 360, so then i went for the ethernet cable method which is ideal if the router is in the same room as the xbox 360 because its much cheaper, gauranteed to work and normally makes connection better, but in my case i had a 30m ethernet cable running down my stairs which is not ideal! therefore when i bought my xbox 360 back i wanted to get it sorted with the network adapter. A lot of families have storage problems my main pain in the backside is lack of room for excess bedding that i keep spare for guests and what not, So this is magnificent, how the air can be sucked out of the bag with any pipe vacuum cleaner and reduce the size of package to less than a quarter of the size. Brilliant for duvets and pillows i might add and to top it all off it keeps all those bugs away and when you do unpack them they smell as good as the day you washed them and put the items in there. ...Hardly exciting is it network cable. The only thing that really intersts me about network cable is the things that come along it at high speed to my computer. Considering that the function of the network cable is to get porno, arriving from the internet via my boradband router, to my computer screen as fast as possible, it is quite an important item. Most people just go for the cheapest, which is a shame considering how much is spent on an broadband connection over a year. According to the BT engineer that came to fix my broadband 90% of the total signal loss goes in the last 100 meters. If you loose too much of your signal then this has a massive effect on the speed of your connection. What I am saying here is that skimping on cables is really a false economy if you are paying over £200 a year for a broadband connection then...

Acer plays the Ace card again!

Advantages: Small, lightweight, great performer. Can handle some 3D games.
Disadvantages: None for the Netbook, but Linux version is rubbish.

I decided on the Linux version of this netbook for £235, the Windows XP version is around £269. I wanted DivX support so I could watch movies at night but after a few hours looking for a suitable program and drivers I gave up. Linux isn't as straightforward as Windows and in many cases you have to open up a console and type commands when you want to install or make changes to an installation.
