Fantastic value for money
Review of Acoustic Solutions LCD 26805 HD by
grainnecarabine
Advantages: Quick set up and great picture quality
Disadvantages: None
...BACKGROUND
It was the end of January, the christmas credit card bill had just arrived, our boiler had broken down and our TV decided to blow up - talk about a run of bad luck! So to say our budget for a new tv was tight is an understatement!
HOW WE ENDED UP WITH THE PARTICULAR MODEL
We looked on line and found the Acoustic Solutions CTVL26W3HD 26in HD Ready LCD TV on offer in Argos for £229.99 and thought that it was too good an offer to pass. However when my husband went to pick it up he was told that it was out of stock and was given a Dual 26" LCD TV as a substitute. Knowing how much we'd spent we weren't expecting much but after 2 days we had no choice but to return it to Argos. The picture quality was horrendous. No amount of tinkering with the contrast and colour settings helped and the top third of the screen flickered...

Getting HD Ready
Review of Acoustic Solutions LCD 32 NK 750 HDF by
h-lo1
Advantages: Very lightweight
Disadvantages: Not one of the BIG brand names
...Having discovered that my existing widescreen telly was not "HD" ready, I decided it was time to upgrade (on a tight budget of course).
After spending the weekend checking out different sizes makes and models in various showrooms I decided that a 32" widescreen would be big enough for viewing pleasure, yet modest enough for the available space in my front room.
After much debating with my better half we decided on this Acoustic Solutions LCD TV from Argos.(deciding factor being the dramatic price slash).
A real bonus was the fact that this TV has integrated freeview which saves the bother of hooking up yet another item to your TV and taking up another valuable socket.
The TV was very easy to set up/tune, it gave on screen step by step instructions - a few clicks of the buttons and Bobs your Uncle. Although it does seem a bit slow...

Acoustic Solutions LCD32NK750HD 32" LCD HD READY
Review of Acoustic Solutions LCD 32 NK 750 HD by
steve200
Advantages: Good Price
Disadvantages: Poor Remote Control / Extended Guarantee Coverage
...nd TV. 2 Scarts, 1 HDMI, etc.. Very slow at going through the differenct AV's using the remote. You have to wait for the AV to connect and show the screen before you can move on to the next one. Again, for the price you will get used to it.
One thing I do need to point out about this TV is the extended warranty. You can only get the extended warranty from Argos. No other insurance provider that I can find so far provides extended warranties for this brand. I have been in touch with Acoustic Solutions and they have told me this is an exclusive line to Argos and they have nothing to do with this. A bit disappointing that I could not use Domestic and General as they were cheaper. Have had to take it out with Argos now just in case anything does happen after the 12 months inclusive warranty.
To sum it up I think I got an excellent...

Ugly duckling that grows into a swan
Review of Acoustic Solutions ASTV-1615 HDS by
lucie23
Advantages: Good quality image for very little money
Disadvantages: ugly design
...Not really sure where to start with this TV. It was a last minute purchase to replace a dead 15 traditional portable. I think the first thing that I was sold on was the price. I paid £150 (through Argos) so was expecting a TV to match the price and lets face it, in the world of LCD TV's its in the lower end of the market.
Not being a techie I was a little concerned that connecting it to my free-view box would be rather a challenge, and that I would end up spending more money buying cables. I was however very pleased to see that it came with all the right cables (and at a decent length) so it took just minutes to get it up and running.
The screen quality is really surprisingly good. I have noticed that some reviews note it as being HD ready whilst others like Ciao say its not. Well I am still totally confused about the whole thing...

Good Budget LCD TV/DVD
Review of Acoustic Solutions ASTVD-3119 WS by
rugbyrhino1965
Advantages: Price and specification
Disadvantages: Flimsy DVD drive
...Having got totally sick of watching widescreen programmes on a standard set with black lines at the top and bottom (thanks to Sky's letterbox setting) I decided to treat myself to a widescreen LCD TV.
Having convinced my other half this was a good use of some of the kids inheritence I plumped for the AS TVD - 3119WS based on price and functions.
The set comes as HD ready and includes a built-in DVD player. All the usual controls and functions that you would expect with either seperate TV or DVD machines are there (play, pause, volume, contrast etc) so no suprises. Setting up the machine was a cinch, straight out of the box and follow the included instructions and all the local and national channels were there. I was not expecting the bright blue glow from two LEDs on the DVD but I found that these can be turned off in the settings menu...

BEST AMP SO FAR???
Review of Acoustic Solutions SP100 by
cokemusic2009
Advantages: loud, good sound, looks nice
Disadvantages: over heats, when really loud, does sound distorted
...it all started, when me and my friend went to cash converters and looked for an amp, he brought the acoustic solutions sp100, for £45, it didnt come with a box, or instructions but it is very easy to use when you get use to it and is very light for transporting. He only used it for around two months, then desided to sell it to me, for £30, and what a bargin it was.
Ive had this amp now, for around two years, in its time, it has been connected to many speakers, ranging from 12 inch subs, to floorstands, both with brilliant sound qaulity.
this amp can be used to connect many things, i have had my mixer connected to it, and used it to do gigs, as this amp definatly has the power for a small party, or garden party. The amp only has 2 speaker outputs, which use bare-wire speakers, so you can use a wide range of speakers on this amp...

Drum, DD Do
Review of Yamaha DD55 by
mo79
Advantages: Cheap, feature-packed, responsive and great sounding; perfect for many standard professional needs and beginners who want to splash out. DD's have been manufactured for atleast a decade or so
Disadvantages: No match for an acoustic kit or VDrums, toyish looking, some minor irregularities in pad response and limitations to the in-built recording feature
...can be controlled via a connected sequencer. A headphone jack completes the kit as does great documentation with appendix tables for reference.
The DD55 is by no means a replacement for an acoustic kit (and neither are VDrums) but for the price and features, the DD55 is possibly the best portable solution for digital percussion for both the pro and the above-amateur. It's portability and brilliant sampled sounds, plus full-featured MIDI make it a brilliant electronic and almost acoustic kit for recording (it's way cheaper than a mixer and a barrage of mics for an acoustic kit), and a pretty good first drum kit for anyone.
The DD55 might be considered by the smug as an impressive toy, but so was the Roland TB-303 bass machine which ended up becoming a standard instrument in dance music. That's not saying the DD55 will end up with historical...
