22" LCD TV - Acoustic Solutions

...UNEXPECTEDLY GREAT TV!!! I've had this TV for a year now and I finally find some time to write a review about this product. It was gifted to me to be put in my bedroom. It's quite an ideal tv for a small or medium sized room. It's 22" widescreen so you can even place it quite near yourself without suffering too much. The TV itself has mostly good quality, overall I would suggest its purchase to anybody who needs a small-sized tv. First of all video and audio are very good, side stereo speakers can go very loud and still keep the quality of the sound decent, on the side you have a on/off button, which is (gladly) not digital. If for any reason the TV would freeze you can still reset it in the old fashioned way of pressing the off switch. When in stand-by a blue led light appears on the front. ...~~ Purchase ~~ I bought my SP122 at Argos over two years ago along with a compatible and matching Acoustic Solutions SP101 Amplifier, Acoustic Solution SP111 DAB/FM Tuner and a pair of Acoustic Solution AVCS Column Stereo Speakers. I took advantage of a deal that was on offer at the time whereby if you bought the amp, tuner and CD player you would receive the speakers for free. ~~ Set up and Appearance ~~ This is an easy to use and uncomplicated CD unit. It's easy and straight forward to set up and attach to other units. I must admit though, it looked much better in the Argos catalogue than it does now that I have it set up in the living room. ...I was looking for a surround sound system for under ?200, and with prices in Ireland that is no easy feat. After shopping around and finding plenty of Home cinema systems with no Optical in and maybe one anaolgue in I was giving up and was gonna start saving the ?380 (approx $550) on the Sony equivelent when I saw this for sale in Argos for ?150. It has one optical input which is perfect for the XBox 360 and 2 x Analogue which was perfect for Sky box & DVD player. There was also a COAX digital input which I did not use. Setup: Any system where you're wiring in 5 speakers will be fiddly work but with all the speakers clearly labeled with their positions it wasn't too bad. I had all the speakers wired and positioned in about 15 mins. I was quite lucky as I have a small room and the rear speakers had the perfect length cable...

It is an HD ready 720p TV, which is good for £150. The only bad thing about it is that there is no PC input. But you can buy special connectors for HDMI to DVI, so you can hook them up. I like the most about the TV is that there is a DVD player in it, The DVD player is good quality. Whats in The Acoustic Solutions LCDW22DVD95F box... The unboxing of the Acoustic Solutions TV is very simple there is, Acoustic Solutions LCDW22DVD95F TV and a Remote. I was very annoyed about this unboxing as my other Dell 17" TV came with all the cables e.g. DVI cable, VGA cable, S-Video cable etc. There is also manuals in the box and there is two batteries in the remote...

Not too much of a bad solution

Advantages: Not bad if you sit at the right angle and don't want to watch a DVD

I had the option of going back to my CRT telebox, but the thought alone depressed me, so opted for another brand. Acoustic Solutions LCDW2295F 22in LCD TV - (limited review)

Advantages: Price, 22" LCD screen, HD ready, built-in digital tuner, pretty good picture quality.
Disadvantages: Poor sound quality and too-low volume range

...you get a true-to-life rich sound, there is a noticable and annoying component 'buzz' ( - at least on my TV anyway). By that I mean that during e.g. a presenter speaking, every volume peak generates a short vibrating buzz (from the TV casing I think). You would normally associate this with a heavy bass mix, but my setup was more neutral-rich. The only way to avoid this 'buzz' is to reduce the already limited volume and flatten the sound quality (which then sounds worse than cheap laptop speakers). Personally I can work around this issue by running the audio through my HIFI aux-input to use the room speakers, but if you don't have this option, I'd advise caution when considering this TV, as this sound-peak buzz becomes really annoying. Other than that, its a bargain at the moment, although I'm sure it will be matched, or beaten in value...

Disadvantages: Poor Remote Control / Extended Guarantee Coverage

...for my 2nd TV. 2 Scarts, 1 HDMI, etc.. Very slow at going through the differenct AV's using the remote. You have to wait for the AV to connect and show the screen before you can move on to the next one. Again, for the price you will get used to it. One thing I do need to point out about this TV is the extended warranty. You can only get the extended warranty from Argos. No other insurance provider that I can find so far provides extended warranties for this brand. I have been in touch with Acoustic Solutions and they have told me this is an exclusive line to Argos and they have nothing to do with this. A bit disappointing that I could not use Domestic and General as they were cheaper. Have had to take it out with Argos now just in case anything does happen after the 12 months inclusive warranty. ...Bose SoundDock Digital Music System I happened to get this as a gift and it turned out to be quiet interesting Summary: This dock is used mainly for ipod and allows you to connet mp3 players to it and listen to high quality music via speakers. It is idle for homes and small gatherings, although I would not run a party off these. Pros: This system has terrific sound and can go very load despite its relative small size. As with almost all Bose speakers the quality is amazing, so long as the source you are playing it from is high quality it will allow the speakers to each its potential. I have a surround sound Bose set up in one of my rooms but now prefer to use this product as it is very simple to operate. Just plug the mp3 player in and press play and your set. Can't get much simpler. It also runs off a wall...
