...for my 2nd TV. 2 Scarts, 1 HDMI, etc.. Very slow at going through the differenct AV's using the remote. You have to wait for the AV to connect and show the screen before you can move on to the next one. Again, for the price you will get used to it. One thing I do need to point out about this TV is the extended warranty. You can only get the extended warranty from Argos. No other insurance provider that I can find so far provides extended warranties for this brand. I have been in touch with Acoustic Solutions and they have told me this is an exclusive line to Argos and they have nothing to do with this. A bit disappointing that I could not use Domestic and General as they were cheaper. Have had to take it out with Argos now just in case anything does happen after the 12 months inclusive warranty. ...I was looking for a surround sound system for under €200, and with prices in Ireland that is no easy feat. After shopping around and finding plenty of Home cinema systems with no Optical in and maybe one anaolgue in I was giving up and was gonna start saving the €380 (approx $550) on the Sony equivelent when I saw this for sale in Argos for €150. It has one optical input which is perfect for the XBox 360 and 2 x Analogue which was perfect for Sky box & DVD player. There was also a COAX digital input which I did not use. Setup: Any system where you're wiring in 5 speakers will be fiddly work but with all the speakers clearly labeled with their positions it wasn't too bad. I had all the speakers wired and positioned in about 15 mins. I was quite lucky as I have a small room and the rear speakers had the perfect length cable... Read review

I listened to yet more Tannoys (nice), B&Ws (very dry), KEFs (too big), Quad's (way too pricey), and several other very reputable brands before giving these British made newcomers to the market a go .... At first I wasn't too keen..... Acoustic Energy ? Who are they ? Never heard of them ..... I was of the "old school" of HiFi after all, with fond memories of Quad, Garrard, Leak, Thorens and Rogers. BUT, as soon as I stuck my favourite LP on their Linn turntable, and listened to it via the Denon AV1803 amp (the same as I had at home already), I knew within a few minutes that I had found what I was looking for. ...I bought the Acoustic Solutions DS1033 speaker system from EBay for just £65 around an year ago. When it was delivered, I could not believe the heavy weight of package. Frankly, I did not have too many expectations for a home cinema system at this cost, but the DS1033 has impressed me a lot. Read below for the reasons!!! ...The Acoustic Energy 5.1 system is available in two configurations - one with and one without a Dolby Digital / DTS decoder. The version without the decoder is less expensive and would be suitable if your system already has some form of surround sound decoding capability. I went for the version with the decoder. The system is very easy to set up. All amplification is perfomed within the subwoofer so this forms the 'hub' of the system. There is a single cable from the decoder to the subwoofer, then 5 single cables from the subwoofer to each of the satellites (one each for the left, right, centre, surround left and surround right channels) The decoder itself has a coaxial and a digital input for digital sources, as well as three line level standard stereo inputs for connecting non-digital equipment. ...it all started, when me and my friend went to cash converters and looked for an amp, he brought the acoustic solutions sp100, for £45, it didnt come with a box, or instructions but it is very easy to use when you get use to it and is very light for transporting. He only used it for around two months, then desided to sell it to me, for £30, and what a bargin it was. Ive had this amp now, for around two years, in its time, it has been connected to many speakers, ranging from 12 inch subs, to floorstands, both with brilliant sound qaulity. this amp can be used to connect many things, i have had my mixer connected to it, and used it to do gigs, as this amp definatly has the power for a small party, or garden party. The amp only has 2 speaker outputs, which use bare-wire speakers, so you can use a wide range of speakers on this amp... Read review

...Great DVD sound system. Cheap, easily connected (it took me 5 mins!) Comes with all the cables you will need (speaker terminall connections) and fully usable instructions which you can follow! (Thats rather rare these days) Comes with a A3 colour sheet explaining how to connect and positions in the room for the speakers. Speaker wires are colour coded so you can easily connect up. You can connect 1 5.1 (seperate channels) or 1 stereo input. It could do with maybe 1 more oudio input for another device, but thats probably just me! Great little kit, sub is very bassy and you can adjust the volume seperate to the other speakers. They are compact but the sound they prodduce is amazing quality. Would recomend... Read review

..., neither is working with particularly high-fi signals in the first place ao they don’t have much work to do. But the sound from the Portal is warm, clear and really nice to listen to. I can’t really tell the difference between stereo and mono stations because the speakers in the Portal 2 are so close together. --> ANY PROBLEMS? Both Acoustic Solutions receivers do have one design flaw. The designers have gone for versatility, in that the radio can be used standing up or lying down (using the handle as a stand). But when the radio is standing, you can’t see the station text, and when it’s lying on its handle, the speaker is pointing downwards at a 45 degree angle – directing all the sound into the table! I suppose the aerial had to go somewhere, and the back is the obvious place for it… but it’s still a bit frustrating to have either... Read review
