Review of Pirates Of The Caribbean - The Curse Of The Black Pearl (DVD)

What an adventure!

Advantages: Great rides, so much fun!
Disadvantages: Prices

..., and one of the adventurous rides that slightly younger children can go on. The other main ride in Super Hero Island is Doctor Doom's Fear Fall. I didn't go on this one as I'm not brilliant with heights, but two of my friends did and they loved it. For this one you are sitting on the outside of a tower. The ride pulls you to the top and then without warning you get dropped down the tower. You bounce back up the tower again. Any loose shoes have to be removed for this one (otherwise there would be people being knocked out by size 9s all over the place!). Again not a ride for the feint hearted with the height, although the view must be amazing from up there (not that my eyes would have been open even if I had gone up!). The only other ride in this area was the Storm Force Acceletron. This is supposed to be one of the tamer rides but...

Quite an adventure!

Advantages: Track after track of quality
Disadvantages: If you shout encore at the end, squat happens

...New adventures in Hi-Fi was the last REM album recorded with all 4 original members, it is also (in my humble opinion) the finest work of a great band. The album contains beautiful song writing, and all the energy of a band fresh from a tour (where quite allot of the album was recorded). How the band came back from that tour with any energy escapes me after some 'problems' were experienced on the road. With 15 tracks and interesting picture sleeve, you can't fault the value here! 1. How the West Was Won and Where It Got Us - Laid back opening to album with jagged piano riff combining well with bass and solid lyrics. May be a slowish start, but from here the album picks up. 2. Review of New Adventures In Hi-Fi - R.E.M.

Another Action packed Chan adventure

Advantages: Plenty of action, more of Chans signature comedic martial arts fight scenes
Disadvantages: Plot is somewhat unoriginal, supporting cast are alright but not brilliant

..., having said that it does date from 1998 which I acknowledge is before the Bourne movies were made, however it still feels like the basic story is one thats been used and re-used alot and that perhaps more could have been covered, it was a bit predictable and the supporting cast could have been better too probably, so I'm giving this a good and not an excellent rating, though I'd still recommend it as a good entertaining action movie with plenty of Chan's trademark comedy martial arts performances. In conclusion I think this is worth a watch, particularly if your a fan of Chan's movies. I've only seen the movie (which liek I say I recorded when it was shown on Five US) and I haven't got it on DVD so I can't comment on any extras or bonus material on the DVD and thus this is a 'film only' review....

Not a lot of action, as far as I'm concerned

Advantages: Indicator bristles are a good idea
Disadvantages: Nowhere near as good as it looks, and it could hurt your gums

The Sims 3: World Adventures

Advantages: The countries are really detailed and the new Sims are great!
Disadvantages: Time doesn't pass when you're on holiday, adventures aren't very sim-like!

If you are a fan of collecting items, there are plenty for you to find! There are random artifacts hidden all over the place that you can either collect or sell, and I think some of the animals I came across were unique as well; though I'm not a collecter, so I can't tell you that for definite! There are plenty of new books under all the categories as well. If you like to teach your Sims new skills then the expansion pack also adds photography, nectar making, and martial arts. Advantages: An adventurous album
Disadvantages: Maybe a little diverse for some

...this album, I would suggest that this album sounds like a hybrid of 'Automatic for the People' (the album most people associate with these boys) and 'Monster' (an album which confused some of R.E.M.'s followers.) In Automatic there are some beautiful songs whose harmonies and lyrics leave a visual and vocal mark upon the listener; whereas in 'Monster' the action is cranked up with a more grungy sound combining lots of guitars, lots of drums and Michael's voice pushing in gruffer, harsher directions than anyone could have imagined from the band's previous offerings. So, where does that leave New Adventures In Hi-Fi? I would say that it is an album which is much more accessible to the traditional R.E.M. fan than Monster. Automatic's folksy melody is there, but Stipe's voice has an extra depth and variation, that could not have happened...
