Amazing Photo Editing Program (Adobe Photoshop CS4)

Advantages: Massive amount of features, endless ways to manipulate pictures
Disadvantages: Takes a while to learn how to use it

...Having recently reviewed Quark on here I thought I should also give a review on Photoshop as it is another program that I use on a daily basis. Photoshop is a photo editing program which again as with quark I started when I was 17 (long time ago now) and at college studying Graphic Design, being young and having never used the program before I thought it was amazing, I didn't realize that there where programs out there that could do so much to pictures. How times have changed, this program has been re-released several times since I first started using it and it has come on in leaps and bounds, it is now an even more amazing program which is packed full of features, you can pretty much do anything you like to a picture, it certainly makes me think twice when I see a picture in a newspaper or magazine, you never know what could have been...

Review of Adobe Photoshop CS4 (PC)

It's as good as Photoshop non-upgrade edition, only cheaper!

Advantages: Runs on 64 bit processors properly. Uses the graphics card properly.
Disadvantages: Expensive to upgrade if you don't need the technical benefits. Most features are the same.

...Photoshop is the industry standard application for photo-manipulation and adjustment. You can't really beat it if you're in an industry where you need to adjust bitmap graphics. This review assumes you already have Photoshop and are looking to upgrade (otherwise, why would you be looking at the upgrade edition? you can't upgrade if you don't have an older version already!) The CS4 edition has two really great upgrade features: It uses your graphics card processor directly, making your work blisteringly fast. (Unless you don't have a decent graphics card of course!) Worth the money.

Advantages: Easy to use, lots of tools.
Disadvantages: Expensive.

...A few years ago I decided I wanted to do some photo editing and graphics on my computer. A friend of mine recommended Photoshop and I am so glad I took his advice! I was new to graphics and had never done anything like that before but I quickly got the hang of it and kept on learning new things and I still learn new things today. Adobe Dreamweaver - fantastic bit of software!

Advantages: easy to use, code hinting, loads of useful features
Disadvantages: sometimes is a bit tempremental

Rough around the edges

Advantages: Same interface to retain die-hard Adobe fans
Disadvantages: Brush engine lag, not too much difference from CS3

...I'm not entirely sure how to feel about the release of CS4 so soon after the release of CS3, when pretty much the whole revamping was done on CS3. But anyhow...let's begin. Since the introduction of Photoshop years ago, the lives of imaging and photo manipulation has never been the same again, for many designers this meant that images can be retouched quickly and easily, with the programmers hard to work at Adobe so that we would be able to save some seconds from our own time. I purchased this with a student discount (thank goodness) about a week ago, because I was absolutely sick and tired of using trial versions, whilst I greatly appreciated the student prices offered, but it was still an extortionate amount of money to part with when student loans if your own means of living for awhile. Advantages: The best photo-editor on the market, new time-saving features.
Disadvantages: Expensive, new version has few new creative tools, not good for home use.

Advantages: Great selection tools, pan & zoom in slide shows, price, printed manual
Disadvantages: file browser gone

Adobe Photoshop- Amazing- End Of

Advantages: marvellous picture editing
Disadvantages: user face can be a little scary, because of all the drop down arrows

...now adobe photoshop is something i can indeed write about, this software when i first started to use it, scared the living day lights out of me, i swear id look at and think *oh my god, what've i taken on* honestly first appearance of the userface scared me. first couple of times i struggled to draw a straight line, i was unable to find where all the different tools were, i was slightly confused that if i made a mistake i could only back step once, i couldnt understand why i couldnt save it as a picture to open in the window viewer, i couldnt figure out how i could possibly change the colors from the default black and white, i didnt even know what a filter was, i couldnt under stand the concept of it for weeks, this is when i switched to using good old paint, i knew how to use it, i understood the theory of paint, but i wasnt completly...
