Amazing Photo Editing Program (Adobe Photoshop CS4)

Advantages: Massive amount of features, endless ways to manipulate pictures
Disadvantages: Takes a while to learn how to use it

...Having recently reviewed Quark on here I thought I should also give a review on Photoshop as it is another program that I use on a daily basis. Photoshop is a photo editing program which again as with quark I started when I was 17 (long time ago now) and at college studying Graphic Design, being young and having never used the program before I thought it was amazing, I didn't realize that there where programs out there that could do so much to pictures. How times have changed, this program has been re-released several times since I first started using it and it has come on in leaps and bounds, it is now an even more amazing program which is packed full of features, you can pretty much do anything you like to a picture, it certainly makes me think twice when I see a picture in a newspaper or magazine, you never know what could have been...

Rough around the edges

Advantages: Same interface to retain die-hard Adobe fans
Disadvantages: Brush engine lag, not too much difference from CS3

...and going against illegal downloadings, I sincerely hope that my purchase is worth it. The product arrived three days ago, I haven't had that much time to play around with it, but all I can say so far is that the interface is the same, with the way the menu bar is separated, the side panels (History, Brushes, Palette etc) save the way Photoshop decides to place newly open files in the same window using tabs. Like IE or Mozilla Firefox's interface of sorting windows to avoid clutter on your screen. Some using Photoshop CS4 Standard may find that there is no longer the function to create a contact sheet from File > Automate..! (I'm sure many of you will have found that you can in fact, fulfill this problem using Adobe Bridge), with Photoshop extended there is a plug-in that you can install which enables you to do that function within Photoshop...

It's as good as Photoshop non-upgrade edition, only cheaper!

Advantages: Runs on 64 bit processors properly. Uses the graphics card properly.
Disadvantages: Expensive to upgrade if you don't need the technical benefits. Most features are the same.

...Photoshop is the industry standard application for photo-manipulation and adjustment. You can't really beat it if you're in an industry where you need to adjust bitmap graphics. This review assumes you already have Photoshop and are looking to upgrade (otherwise, why would you be looking at the upgrade edition? you can't upgrade if you don't have an older version already!) Worth the money.

Advantages: Easy to use, lots of tools.
Disadvantages: Expensive.

...A few years ago I decided I wanted to do some photo editing and graphics on my computer. A friend of mine recommended Photoshop and I am so glad I took his advice! Adobe Dreamweaver - fantastic bit of software!

Advantages: easy to use, code hinting, loads of useful features
Disadvantages: sometimes is a bit tempremental

Advantages: The best photo-editor on the market, new time-saving features.

Adobe Photoshop- Amazing- End Of

Advantages: marvellous picture editing
Disadvantages: user face can be a little scary, because of all the drop down arrows
