Adobe Photoshop 5.5 - A work of art

Advantages: Fast, efficient, welcome 'web' upgrade for Photoshop, amazing number of features
Disadvantages: Might be a bit too expensive for beginners

...Adobe Photoshop is one of the most acclaimed graphics packages on the market at the moment. Not only is it sought after by many professionals for top-end graphics work, but is also a great learning tool for beginners too! Version 5.5 was well anticipated, but can Adobe live up to the hype? First Impressions - Prior to buying Photoshop 5.5, I had version 5.0 on my system. I was aware of the fact that 5.5 is only half an upgrade, but was curious to see what 5.5 had to offer. I was slightly dissapointed when I first saw that nothing much had changed! But after browsing round a few menus, and clicking a few "Save to web" buttons, I was pleasantly suprised. Tools - All the favourite tools are here. The Selector, Move, Text, Erase, Blur, Fill, Gradient, Paint brush, Zoom... etc... There is a tool for practically anything you want to do...

Adobe Dreamweaver - fantastic bit of software!

Advantages: easy to use, code hinting, loads of useful features
Disadvantages: sometimes is a bit tempremental

Advantages: Great for beginner and professional - extremely powerful

The undisputed champion of image editing

Advantages: Superb tools, incredible flexibility, vastly improved web design elements... I could go on.
Disadvantages: High price and high memory requirements. 5.5 has also been succeeded by 6.0

Advantages: Many tools and filters and easy too use.
Disadvantages: If you already own an older version is it worth upgrading?

...Before purchasing Adobe Photoshop 5.5 i had been using Paintshop but was looking for a more user friendly program, my friend suggested Adobe's Photoshop and so trusting my friends judgement went out and purchased the program and i wasn't dissapointed. It is easy to use with a comprehensive 'help' , it aslo contains many powerful tools and filters. I recommend this program to anybody that is interested in editing pictures or indeed just drawing however old or young , experienced or inexperienced at using art packages. This program is tops well done Adobe yet another winner! My advice - go buy it NOW!...

Review of Adobe Photoshop 5.0 5.0 Complete package

This is a an easy to use package

Advantages: Easy to use interface for basic options
Disadvantages: for more complicated options, it can get a bit too complicated.

...Adoeb Photoshop 5.5, is one of the easier Graphics packages to use, as it normally is with Adobe products. It has all the capabilities of the other leading graphics packages and more. The user interface is interesting, without being complicated. Toolbars and Panels are not permanently fixed to the side of your screen, but moveable and closeable all with the click of a mouse. A lot of the toolbars take up a bit of space if you are using a lower resolution on your monitor, e.g. 800x600. but can be minimised to a very small area if not wanted. Adobe also offer a gamma ray application, that changes the amount of gamma rays coming through your monitor, and changeing how dark and light you like thigs when Photoshop starts up. Altogether I would say this product is great for all users, it won't matter if you are a graphics designer...

...Wow!!! It's hard to believe the people at Adobe actually designed this program, it's hard to believe anyone designed this program!!! PS5.5 is undoubtedly the most sophisticated piece of graphics software I have ever come across. Through Photoshop I have been able to create the most stunning pieces of graphical work, despite not being the most artistic person ever. Photoshop has not only made this possible, but the ease at which techniques can be mastered. The added bonus's of new brushes and actions available for free download from numerous places just makes Photoshop the one to choose....

It makes the manipulation possible!

Advantages: manipulation
Disadvantages: not easy to use

...Photoshop is a kind of gallery of tools to manipulate images. You can use lots of filters to make unreal or real your selected images. Also it is good to work with but I must admit that is not very easy at the beggining to understand how to use it. You have to play for a while to get use to it. The results are fantastic, and I don't know nobody that doesn't like it.It is possible to make your dog looks like a cartoon work and thing like that. Also you can import your images from another software and than manipulate with Photoshop....
