...I have been a member of the Boots Advantage Scheme now for many years, if the shop has a loyalty scheme I will probably be a member! Its completely free to have a Boots Advantage Card and you earn 4 points per pound spent and each point is worth 1p for you to spend instore. There is no minimum amount you have to collect before you can spend your points but you do have to pay for a product in full with your points so if you wanted a £10 Mascara but only had 749 points you would have to pay with cash. Boots often have special promotions instore where you can collect more points and its always worth checking out the instore Advantage machines. ...I think it's time for another review again! This time on my favorite loyalty card from Boots, The Advantage card. And yes, it really is an advantage. So what is the Advantage card for anyone who doesn't know. The advantage card is a way of collecting points in Boots. For every £1 you spend you gain 4 point of the card. One point is equivalent to 1p. Doesn't sound much but believe me it soon adds up. The points can then be spent on any item around the store with a * on the price tag. There are over 27,000 products to redeem your points on. A lot of mums use the card to buy nappies with, but please note that you can only spend points on Huggies and Boot's own branded nappies. If it's dinnertime, why not treat yourself to a free lunch? Or maybe you wanted to save up a little more and purchase something from the make-up counters...

Boots Advantage Card

Advantages: It's worth it, easy to collect points, four points per £1 spent.
Disadvantages: There should be more choice in products you can get with your points.

...It's always nice when you think you are getting something for "nothing" and that's how I feel with my Boots Advantage card at the moment. Loyalty cards have come and gone, but my two favourites which have been around for a while are the Boots scheme, with Tesco a close second. The only other one I hold is the WHSmith card, but as I have had it for two years, and earned a paltry £1.77, it will be a while before I can accumulate an award with them! Now I know perfectly well that at the end of the day, Boots is a retailer who has a job to do, i.e. make a return on investment for its shareholders and what they give on the one hand they take with the other, but it still feels nice when you have amassed a pile of points and can treat yourself to something, big or small, without having to put your hand in your pocket. So please don't spoil...

...£102 is the amount of money I have on my Boots advantage card. Yes, I'm a bit of a hoarder and a bit of a scrooge! It's taken about 3 years to build up to that amount. Before that I saved up enough points to buy goods from Boots kitchen ware section and an alarm clock. There's a Boots near where I work, so it's easy to shop in there for toiletries and cosmetics. For every £1 you spend in Boots you get 4 advantage card points, this excludes prescription charges, gift vouchers and baby milk. 1 point equals 1 penny that can be spent instore. There are lots of special offers where you can get extra points for buying particular items. ...Like many stores Boots offers a reward card, theirs is called Boots Advantage Card. Mine is a white colour with the blue Boots logo in the middle - like the one pictured above. Boots claims to be one of the most generous reward cards out there at 4 points per £1 spent. I don't know if this is true but it does sound good! Points are earned when spending in store and also online. In the larger Boots stores you can find Advantage Card machines, whereby you put your Advantage card in and it gives you a variety of offers. In the past I've had free products (but not for a while), most of the time they are for extra points when you buy a certain product or for money off a specific product. 1 point is worth 1 pence, so it does take a while to build up points. ...The boots advantage card is a loyalty scheme. You get 1 advantage point for every 25p that you spend in boots. To get the advantage card, all you to do is fill in a form with your name and address. To get a form, ask a memeber of staff in boots, and they will give you one. The card is free and will be delivered to your house through the post, when they have received your form. You can get points on most products, apart from medicines and prescriptions. No idea though why you can not earn points on these. Items that have * on the shelf, next to the product, are one's that earn you points on your card. You can see how many points you have on your receipt when you have bought something. There is also a machine in the store, where you put your card in and that will also tell you how mnay points you have on your card as well...

...Boots Advantage Card - You can apply for an advantage card by asking in store, you will get a form you need to fill out and you will get a temporary card which is just a bit of cardboard really, this is just until you receive your permanent card through the post. This can take up to 4 weeks to receive. Please note that you can collect points with temporary card but you can't spend points until you receive your permanent card. The card is just the size of a credit card and is white, it has the blue boots logo on the middle of the card with your name and account number on the left side and on the other side it has advantage card - time to treat yourself wrote on it. On the back of the card it has details on what to do if your card has been lost or stolen. It also has a signature strip which you need to sing and has a gold chip...
