Advantages: naturally! Disadvantages: cannot part pay
...I have had my Boots Advantage Card for well over a year now, and it surprises me that I have not talked about it yet. It is something I never leave home without, and cherish with all my heart! But what is it all about?
The Boots Advantage Card is a loyalty card for Boots. For those who do not know, Boots is a chain drugstore that sells everything from perfume and make up, to nappies and photo albums. It really is such a versatile shop, and there so many of them! I could not tell you how many there are in Aberdeen alone, but within half an hour of my house from foot, there are three large Boots stores and a little Boots store! So thankfully there is always one available.
The card itself looks very attractive. It is of average size, the same as a bank card or credit card, and is white in colour. Across the front there is a large Boots...
Advantages: Great price comparison; prodcuct reviews, easy to use; cheap deals Disadvantages: None for me
...I do all my online shopping from Amazon, mainly because it's cheap, affordable and comparable.
Amazon is basically an online 'catalogue' website of all different stuff to purchase, either brand new from Amazon and alternative sellers or 'used'.
****** Registering with Amazon ***********
What I love about Amazon is that it remembers my previous orders or stuff that I've recently looked at. When you register (which is really simple) you can save all your bank details and postal address so you don't have to type it in again with every purchase you make. I have selected for the website to 'remember' me, so when I log on, it says 'Welcome back Alaycia' at the top of the screen. However, for security reasons, when making a purchase, I still have to -re log in with my password, which is very good if someone uses my computer and enters...

Review of Amazon.co.uk
Advantages: Points to spend instore to treat yourself Disadvantages: If you use online you need to collect points instore
...I have been a member of the Boots Advantage Scheme now for many years, if the shop has a loyalty scheme I will probably be a member!
Its completely free to have a Boots Advantage Card and you earn 4 points per pound spent and each point is worth 1p for you to spend instore.
There is no minimum amount you have to collect before you can spend your points but you do have to pay for a product in full with your points so if you wanted a £10 Mascara but only had 749 points you would have to pay with cash.
Boots often have special promotions instore where you can collect more points and its always worth checking out the instore Advantage machines.
On my last trip to Boots I was going to buy some perfume and was entitled to 250 points just for spending over £25 so this was a nice extra on something I wanted anyway.
You can also use your...
Advantages: well designed site, quite easy to navigate, good for books /dvds mainly for me Disadvantages: not good for all products-shop around as always for what you want
...The Amazon website and brand was founded in 1994 and was launched online in 1995. It started off initially as an online book shop providing an alternative to traditional offline bookshops. Since then the website has diversified to include a wide range of products including Dvd's,computer games, toys, Cd's.Mp3's, electronics etc. It is currently America's largest online retailer.
It has some separate sites for individual countries such as the Uk , Canada, France and Germany amongts others.
The Amazon website is quite well designed and easy to navigate with tabs and links on the side showing the different departments and product categories. You can also search for a specific product if you want to.You can choose to buy from amazon themselves or there are other marketplace options with sellers who are registered on amazon who may...

Review of Amazon.co.uk
Advantages: Very easy to get points, lots of things to spend them on Disadvantages: Non
...I think it's time for another review again! This time on my favorite loyalty card from Boots, The Advantage card. And yes, it really is an advantage.
So what is the Advantage card for anyone who doesn't know. The advantage card is a way of collecting points in Boots. For every £1 you spend you gain 4 point of the card. One point is equivalent to 1p. Doesn't sound much but believe me it soon adds up. The points can then be spent on any item around the store with a * on the price tag. There are over 27,000 products to redeem your points on. A lot of mums use the card to buy nappies with, but please note that you can only spend points on Huggies and Boot's own branded nappies. If it's dinnertime, why not treat yourself to a free lunch? Or maybe you wanted to save up a little more and purchase something from the make-up counters...
Advantages: Great range of goods, cheap Disadvantages: Slow free delivery
...I have used Amazon to purchase various itme ranging from dvd's and cd's through to books and even my surround sound system! There is a huge variety of items for sale but it is worth pointing out that not al the items are sold directly by Amazon. Some items are sold by the general public and private sellers but this is clearly marked for you and each private seller has feedback ratings.
**What do they sell?**
The items sold on Amazon are split into the following departments:
*Books
*Music, DVD's and Games
*Electronics
*Computing and Office
*Home and Garden
*Toys, Children and Baby
*Jewellry and Watches
*Clothes and Shoes
*Sports and Leisure
*Health and Beauty
*DIY and Tools
They have a useful search bar if you are looking for a particular item and can shop by department or the whole site.
**Ease of use**

Review of Amazon.co.uk
Advantages: A great place to sell goods Disadvantages: Disadvantages?!
...I'm sure many of you out there have spent a fair bit of your internet time browsing somewhere such as eBay for unnecessary products to spend your hard earned cash on. Well, here's an alternative that in my view at least, is better than eBay...
I'm sure you're all aware of the concept of Amazon.co.uk and the service it provides, allowing you to buy any kind of electrical goods/DVD/CD amongst the greater selection of goods it now sells. But you can also sell things on Amazon, and buy material from third-parties rather than just through Amazon...that's where it's Marketplace comes in.
When clicking on a product, take a DVD for example, you will be given the price, but also an option to buy "Used & New", which will take you to third party sellers which are not associated with Amazon, just merely members of the site. Anyone can sell...
Advantages: Good easy shopping experience Disadvantages: None
...Introduction
This is an online retailing website that sells a vast array of books, electronic consumer items, dvds and other household goods. I have used amazon.co.uk in buying a laptop, dvds, as well as buying seeds for flowers online. I find the payment processing system to be hassle free, though I perhaps do not like to keep re entering my password the button pushing is very straightforward in placing and paying for a small order. I have had one experience of using the customer service support line which was used in order to chase up an order which to be honest re assured me that my laptop was on its way to my address.
On Amazon I do like that the fact that I can add gift vouchers which I earned on some survey websites including valuedopinions to my gift card balance. I am happy with the searching of the products as a whole...

Review of Amazon.co.uk
Advantages: Good product selection, reliable! Disadvantages: Prices change quickly on certain items
...Amazon; where do I start?
Amazon was my first experience with online shopping. Around 5 years ago when I first heard about the website, with people raving about how good it was, I checked it out. Initial thoughts were that the number of products available was huge, and this was 5 years ago. The number of products is always increasing and the categories available was very impressive.
At the moment, amazon lists all the main categories down the left hand side of the homepage and when you hover the cursor over the menu also lists some of the most popular sub menus. For example, when I hover over books, it lists the sub menus as 'books', 'books for study', 'audio books' and 'look inside the book'. These submenus are a brilliant way of narrowing down your search, particularly useful if you know the exact item you are looking for, or you...

Review of Amazon.co.uk
Advantages: Wide Range, Cheap, Quick Delivery Disadvantages: Cheap Looking Site
...I've only quite recently begun shopping with Amazon, the main reason being receiving vouchers from survey sites and from on here. It's now one of the first sites I look at when making a purchase.
~~~ Products ~~~
Amazon.co.uk stocks a massive variety of products. So far everything I have searched for has been available to buy on the site, although most of the things have been quite common like DVD's and games. I can't think of anywhere that stocks as much stuff as Amazon, maybe not even Ebay.
~~~ Prices ~~~
The prices on Amazon are very competitive and are usually the cheapest place to but DVD's and games, again being usually cheaper than Ebay, I have no doubt that this is the case for many other products. The main down side is that cash back sites don't offer cash back for Amazon, or am I on the wrong cash back site...
