...A Christmas Mystery is one of Jostein Gaarders easier reads. It is set out in short chapters starting at the 1st of December and finishing on the 24th December. I read this book with my children, one chapter a day in the Christmas Advent. It is an enchanting story within a story. A young boy buys a special advent calender in which a story about a young runaway girl unfolds. The young girl travels across the world to the Holy Land and back in time to the birth of Jesus. The book is set out beautifully with wonderful illustrations which replicate the picture on the boy's advent calender. It is simple enough to be read to children but adults also benefit from the philosophical look at religion. When reading it with my children we also followed the young girl's journey across the world on an atlas. Overall an educational and riveting story.... Read review

...I had my Road Angel Navigator stolen, and decided to replace it with the cheaper Road Angel Navigator 7000. It's OK-ish but I found the verbal direction instructions less clear and often they were provided too late, compared to the original Navigator. The mapping display is different between the original unit and the 7000 (they use different mapping systems). I couldn't see that the 7000 offered any key advantage or disadvantage in the map display itself, but it's big drawback is you don't get the simple direction display of the original Navigator unit - the one that automatically replaces the map and gives you simple, clear and easily-read directions such as "turn left on to A6 in 5 miles". The screen size for all of the current Navigator range from Road Angel is the same, although publicity material could lead you to believe... Read review

...Ive bought many cameras in the past, but the Fujifilm FinePix S7000 Zoom challenges models from Canon and Nikon for serious photographers attention with a model that has eye-level, extensive controls, through-the-lens (TTL) viewing, and very good to excellent image quality. Im a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to digital photos, and was delighted at the functionality and results of this camera. The S7000 looks like a professional single lens reflex unit with a big lens and extended battery grip. Although not as full-featured as the midrange Canon/Nikon models, the S7000 offers manual exposure, aperture, and shutter priority, as well as manual focus, bracketing, and a histogram. ...Continuing on my quest to review all things Christmassy, here I am with Advent review number 2. So with my deepest apologies to all those bah humbuggers out there, may I invite you back to Beckie's grotto. Why don't you pull up a chair, help yourself to a glass of warm mulled wine, and a mince pie (Marks and Spencers with a dusting of icing sugar to make them look homemade). This year, as always, my children have been well and truly spoilt by their Grandparents. In a departure from traditional or even chocolate Advent calendars they have both been given rather posh Advent calendars. Shortie has a Playmobil one, and big brother "Small Fry" (aged 7 and a half!) has a Lego Advent calendar. ...I've been at Themestream for three months and have over $7,000 in my balance -- and it could have been more. Of course, this means nothing until I get the cheque. When I get the cheque then I really will sing it's praises. You don't get paid for writing, but for every visitor to your article. It's hard to find authors on the site, but at least people who read you can leave a commenet and then you can search them out. Likewise they may do the same if you comment on their work. At the current $0.10 a read you would need a lot of members to read you to earn thousands of dollars. And I don't believe Themestream has that many active readers. But as they pay for non-member visits too, you will earn well if you have a high traffic website and can direct visitors to your work on Themestream. ...As a nice alternative to chocolate advent calendars, this year my boyfriend got me a 'Belville Lego Calendar' instead. I secretly wanted the 'Lego Advent Calendar' but since my boyfriend had got that one we couldn't have the same one! I was quite a big Lego fan when I was younger, and still am! But I am not so familiar with the 'Belville' selection of Lego since it is still quite new. Belville is the same as normal Lego.. but for girls. So lots of pink, girly and glittery things! (This is definitely not a unisex calendar!) We bought our advent calendars direct from the Lego website and they cost £12.99. The advent calendars are recommended for people 5 years + The calendars are very exciting. They are very thick (around 2 - 2.5 inches), and they are slightly bigger than a normal sized chocolate advent calendar. The front cover... Read review

...f you've read my Geforce 5200 review you will know before I upgraded I had a Radeon 7000. I was looking for a new graphics card back in 1999 so went into my local computer shop and asked what cards they had. They had around three graphics card. The Radeon was £40 and the next card up was £120 and the 3rd £180. Having very little money I purchased the Radeon 7000. I walked out of the shop and looked at the back of the boxed. It said ti supported Direct x 8. The game I wanted to play ran on Direct x 9 so I quickly ran back into the shop and asked him if it would support 9. He said yes it would so I decided to take it home and try it out. The Radeon 7000 has 32mb ram. This was about what I needed at the time. ...onto it. Materia is another word for magic, you can equip many different types of magic, the main four are Ice, Fire, Lightning and Cure, which can be bought early in the game. There are also other types of magic such as all, which has to be equiped in and joined slot so that that materia can be used on all opponents. Summons are also in materia, they can be brought into the battle to use a powerful attack on the opponent. The best of these being Knights of the Round a summon materia that attacks the opponent about 14 times with 7000 hit points, thats a lot. Some materia can also be used to improve basic attacks, for example you can attack the opponent twice instead of the usual singular hit.
