The Sims 3: World Adventures

Advantages: The countries are really detailed and the new Sims are great!
Disadvantages: Time doesn't pass when you're on holiday, adventures aren't very sim-like!

...World Adventures is the first (probably of many!) expansion pack for the Sims 3. It is an unusual choice for the first pack, being quite a deviation from the normal Sims gameplay. World Adventures allows your Sims to visit three different countries; Egypt, China and France. The main idea of the pack is that you complete different adventures in each area (hence the title!) and this is what initially put me off getting the game. I play the Sims because I like the gameplay of it, not because I want to play an adventure or puzzle game! However, I was beginning to get fed up with the base pack and so admitted defeat and bought it. I was surprised at just how big the countries are. For some reason I had expected them to be tiny, but they are easily comparable with the base game that your Sims start off with. Each country features a shopping...

Review of The Sims 3: World Adventures (PC)

Have your own world of adventures!

Advantages: Fun rides, great animals, good food
Disadvantages: More thrill rides please!

...Chessington World Of Adventures is perfect for a family day out with lots of rides and attractions you just don't know where to start! Beanoland For young ones there's the Bash Street Bus, and for older ones, Billy's Whizzer and Roger The Dodger's Dodgems. In Dennis's Madhouse you have to fire foam balls at everybody! Try not to get hit! To grab a bite, there's the Fizz And Burp Caff where you can get hot dogs and cokes. Forbidden Kingdom Do you dare to enter the Forbidden Kingdom? If so, then try your aim at Tomb Blaster whre you have a laser gun and you must blast away the evil curse! If you're 1.4m or above (but less then 1.95m) then Rameses Revenge will be just your ticket! Whoosh! A jet of water in your face! There's a Refresh close by Tomb Blaster to have some pasta! Land Of The Dragons Young ones can run about in...

Review of Chessington World of Adventure

World of adventures

Advantages: Overall good value for money, great for familys
Disadvantages: you cant do it all in one day

...I have two small children both under the age of 4 and being a bank holiday weekend i wanted to treat them and myself to a day out that was going to be fun but was not going to break my bank balance. Chessington world of adventures sprung to mind. I needed somewhere that was relatively easy to get to and was not going to take half a day in travelling to get there. Chessington world of adventures is situated in Surrey less than a 30 minute train journey from london waterloo which is idea for people like me who have to rely on public transport to get anywhere. I was lucky enough to pick up a 2 for 1 ticket advertised in the Sun Newspaper which mean't one adult got in for free. price i paid was £29.00 for a adult and £19.00 for my 4 and a half year old. Children under 1 metre in height go in for free everyday which is good but...

Diamond review  It's A Mini World Of Adventure

Advantages: Good fun day out, Ideal for kids
Disadvantages: Poor Value for money if you dont have Kids

...This summer I seem to have caught the Theme Park bug. I?ve spent a lot of time since May in one Theme Park or another. I decided that a series of Theme Park Ops were in order, starting with Chessington World of Adventures (CWOA from now on) in South London. It had been ages since my last visit to CWOA. In the last few weeks however I?ve been a couple of times. Once for the Ciao meet and the other with a few mates. Both times have reminded me that although it?s not a park for thrill seekers it is an enjoyable day out. Unlike the other 2 Tussauds parks CWOA is designed to cater more for a family day out. The park is pretty easy to find. It?s clearly signposted from the M25 so providing the M25 isn?t in car park mode you?ll get there reasonably quickly. There is plenty of car parking available including a couple of overflow car parks...

Review of Chessington World of Adventures

Chessington World Of Adventures

Advantages: Something for everyone there.
Disadvantages: Not many rides for young children.

...Chessington World Of Adventures is a fun place to go in the school holidays but it is also a very expensive place to go as it is around £15 to get in. Whenever we go it's for the day. We'll get there early and go on all the most popular rides first as it gets very busy there. There are many cheap places to eat there like KFC or you can bring a picnic to eat in one of the areas without rides but just a childrens play park. Chessington provides unique rides that appeal to everyone. There are fast active rides like the Vampire ride. There are rides that take you upside down like Rameses Revenge and fast rides that also take you upside down like Samauri- great fun if you've got the guts. There are also rides aimed at little children like Profesor Burps' Bubble Works. There is also a zoo there, which is also good for little children as...

Review of Chessington World of Adventures

On a Quest to find something worth watching, maybe?

Advantages: The fighting
Disadvantages: Everything else

...the progression of fighting skills, it dawdles too much on this and leaves not enough time for actual fighting. What we see of the fighting skills is impressive. The inclusion of a world wide invitation gives us a chance to see a range of different styles, from sumo to capoeira, kung fu to boxing, and the various styles within each. It showcases these talents, and uses actors whose skills are at the top of their game in each. Made back in 1996, it came in a period where Van Damme was still making films to try and compare to his previous action adventures. It came before the use of modern style, with the more current settings and the less 80s feel to them. As a result, this is kind of a mix between the two, and doesn't really work. The martial arts are impressive, but the story is boring. The inclusion of Roger Moore as a british Lord is a strange...

Chessington World of Adventure.

Advantages: Fun filled day out for all ages.
Disadvantages: Sometimes the weather can stop the rides due to safety.

..."Chessington World Of Adventures Not only is this an Amusement Park but it also contains it's own Zoo. I have been visiting here since as long as I can remember, each year there are always improvements. Whether it be new rides, new shops or new animals being introduced to the Zoo. This is an ideal day out as it takes all day to get round the whole Park, although if you go in the Holidays or on weekends, you may find that the queues are long and this can slow your day down. I would advise getting here when the Park opens to take advantage of the whole day. Try to wear comfortable shoes, and bring a rain Mac (this is not just for the weather but also some of the rides), also if you want to save a bit of money take a pack lunch I would suggest using a carrier bag to put your food in so u can throw your rubbish away (less to carry...

Review of Chessington World Of Adventure Theme Park, Surrey

One Big Adventure

Advantages: Good choice of rides, caters well for families
Disadvantages: Long queues on busy days

...My boyfriend and I recently visited Chessington World of Adventures in Surrey. Location Chessington World of Adventure's is located just off junction 9 on the M25 and is very well signposted so finding this attraction isn't an issue at all. Price If you plan to purchase tickets when you arrive then you will be charged the following prices: Adult (12 years and over) - £31 Child - £21 Under 1 metre - Free Family of 3 - £66 Family of 4 - £86 Family of 5 - £104 There are certain discounts you can get if you book through their website before you visit and they also accept vouchers such as Tesco Clubcard and the Walkers Brit Trips. We used vouchers from the Brit Trips which meant that for 2 adults we were charged £31 which I thought was fairly reasonable. Opening Times For 2008, Chessington opened on 15th March...

Chessington World of Adventures - is it for you

Advantages: small queues, lots of things to do for younger children
Disadvantages: very few rides for older children, in need of refurbishment in parts

...Visited Chessington World of Adventures in August 2007 with my 5 year old, this park is better suited for younger children due to the lack of bigger rides although the 2 or 3 rides for older children/adults are quite exhilirating. There are loads of places to eat including a kfc & pizza hut with prices not too bad and there is enough to do to enjoy the day such as the zoo, animal shows, rides etc. there is als a place in the western style part of the park where you and your family can have a photograph taken in the style of the old west with a saloon or parlour backdrop, an opportunity to dress up as cowboys or wenches and get a momento of the experience all good fun & the kids as well as the grown ups enjoy it, as many people in the photograph for £20 which is quite reasonable for an 10x8" photograph. I would say quite a bit of the park...

Review of Chessington World Of Adventure Theme Park, Surrey

The world according to prof. Bubbles

Advantages: Good fn, great rides
Disadvantages: Too much for one day, queus too long

...I have always been a huge fan of Chessington World of Adventures. I was taken there every year by my Mum when I was younger, and so was my sister - although it was mainly just a zoo when my sister was really young. So, now I have kids of my own, when we started talking about theme parks - for me, Chessington was my hands down choice. We went a few times with our, now, Eldest from when he was around 4 or 5 - and he always had a really good time. We welcomed our second son at the end of 2007 so we waited until the summer of 2008 to go again as we thought he'd be OK - for all accounts - he was fine. So, our eldest son's birthday is in September, so for his birthday we decided to book two days in Chessington and a night in the hotel, just outside the exit. If you are planning on going with the kids, I would really recommend...
