..., and one of the adventurous rides that slightly younger children can go on. The other main ride in Super Hero Island is Doctor Doom's Fear Fall. I didn't go on this one as I'm not brilliant with heights, but two of my friends did and they loved it. For this one you are sitting on the outside of a tower. The ride pulls you to the top and then without warning you get dropped down the tower. You bounce back up the tower again. Any loose shoes have to be removed for this one (otherwise there would be people being knocked out by size 9s all over the place!). Again not a ride for the feint hearted with the height, although the view must be amazing from up there (not that my eyes would have been open even if I had gone up!). The only other ride in this area was the Storm Force Acceletron. This is supposed to be one of the tamer rides but...

Disadvantages: Time doesn't pass when you're on holiday, adventures aren't very sim-like!

Outside the front off the base camp there is a noticeboard, which is where you can find out what adventures are currently available and decide whether or not you want to do them or not. If you don't want to, there is still a lot for your Sim to do. The first thing I tend to do is go and meet some of the local Sims and check out the shops. The Sims have all been designed so they look like they come from that area and wear stereotypical clothing, and share the body language of their real life...

The thing that annoyed me when I was younger, and still irritates me slightly now, is the attitudes towards genders. Yes, the girls are there involved in the adventure, but the boys seem to do the really exciting things and the girls get scared much more easily. As an adventurous girl, I disliked the implication that there were some things boys could do that girls shouldn?t. Still, it didn?t stop me loving the books for the excitement.
