AEG Electrolux Fridge
Advantages: Looks good, full of room, big doors, big shelves, easy to clean

...I moved into my new house about a year and a half ago and as it came unfurnished needed to buy a fridge pretty quickly. Being half American I had always loved the big American Fridges that hold enough food for a family for about a year with a water filter on the front and an ice machine so I had this in mind when I went to Currys.
However as I found out these fridges are also quite wide and the space I had to put my fridge in was quite small which is when I came across the AEG Electrolux fridge/freezer. IT was £650 at Currys which I didn't think was too bad.
The first thing that attracted me to this fridge was the look and design. It's a free standing, chrome fridge so it's not plastic looking like some fridges. The outside is very easy to clean as it is just wipe clean. It has two section, the fridge portion and the freezer...

Electrolux Fridge and Freezer
Advantages: Appearance and features
Disadvantages: Terrible customer service, product quality and accessory support
...I bought this fridge and its companion refrigerator in September 2007 from Comet. Nice looking pieces of equipment and the additional benefit of the sparkling water dispenser. Unfortunately, experiences with both products have been very disappointing.. I would have expected much better from Electrolux. Going through Comet just adds one extra layer of complexity (and difficulty for the customer).
- the fridge was replaced once and the freezer was replaced twice, all due to defective electronics that could not be repaired by technicians who claimed the product to be new and that they had not received full product training yet.. much time was spent chasing up repairs (and spare parts) on the phone
- the instructions manuals for the 3 freezers that we received were not written by a native english speaker (many mistakes) and the pages...

The god of Fridge-Freezers!
Advantages: Lots of space and great functions
Disadvantages: Only comes in white -more cleaning!

Our first combined fridge freezer
Advantages: Good capacity for small family, no frost or condensation on interior walls.
Disadvantages: Freezer compartments quite tight for large items like pizza's etc
...This is a great fridge freezer for a small family. Our family is two adults and a child, and it copes very well with the weekly shop, although can be pretty packed.
Starting at the top, from the outside, there are six buttons at the very top of the machine, three to either side of the digital display. The first on the left is the power button, which as you would imagine is used for switching the whole thing on and off. This is however an 'electronic' on/off switch therefore there will still be power going to the device if you don't switch off at the socket.
One thing we noticed with these buttons is that they can quite easily be pushed 'in' and end up further back behind the facia than they should be. A gentle touch is all that is required!
The next button 'SUPER' is essentially a fast freeze button, which will run...

...we brought this fridge freezer about 6 months ago from the argos after our old one finaly bit the dust, it cost £290 and is only available on home delivery.
The doors on this can be fitted either side so you can choose which side you want them to open from, the light in the fridge is on the top of the inside of the fridge which gives a lot more light in the fridge than my old one used to which was on the side, it has 4 glass shelves inside the fridge that three are adjustable so that you can choose where inside the fridge you want them and you have a salad tray at the bottom, there are 3 trays on the door of the fridge for dairy items that are quite small, one has an egg tray and the others are ideal for tins and butter. there is a larger tray on the bottom of the fridge door that is ideal for milk and pop.

This comes in white only and was ideal for us as we were looking for a large fridge, but were not too concerned about the freezer size as we have a chest freezer already.
The outside of the fridge freezer is easily cleaned with a damp cloth. The fridge has adjustable shelves so you can adjust them to fit in with your needs. There is also a bottle rack to keep the wine nice and cold. There are 2 large plastic draws in the bottom of the fridge to keep your salad stuff nice and fresh. Cool Fridge
Advantages: Good versatile space
Disadvantages: bit large
...I’m a bloke so when it comes to buying stuff I generally leave it to the wife. I’m happy buying music, books, computer games and technical stuff but when it comes to white goods I’m just not interested enough, as long as it does the job and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg I’m fine about it.
We just moved house and so the fridge which was perfectly good for the other house is no longer good enough for the new house, apparently.
