...Now I should start by saying that this is not a current product. But read on. I bought this washer-dryer over 4 years ago, and have in short, had nothing but trouble with it. It was a high-spec machine and coming from AEG, I had assumed it also came with German build quality and reliability. How wrong could I be. I had been advised many times not to buy a combined washer-dryer ("nothing but trouble"), but did not listen - more fool me - it was sound advice. AEG don't even manufacture their own washer-dryers, Electrolux do it for them, or so a John Lewis salesman informed me, and this explains a lot. The machine has had a recurrent electrical fault since 'birth', which was both untraceable and unfixable, and which ultimately resulted in its death in March 2001. Advantages: Excellent wash, economical
Disadvantages: Fairly basic- go for Miele model with "Spray arm" indicator

...I don't work for Miele but my god I should! This machine was bought to replace a massively expensive Bosch/Siemens/electrolux (same machines different labels) The electronics are not sealed on the bosh/electrolux/siemens which caused on its 15th month a catastrophic failure. I was concerned about AEG being bought by the bosch/electrolux mega conglomerate so plumped for this Miele. Even on the economy setting it washes all but the worst burnt on pans, the door latch is excellent and doesn't need to be wrenched open, I love the cutlery tray, it lets me put so much more in it. We use it 2 or 3 times a day here (6people !)and it has let me down only a couple of times usually when plates jam the spray arms so I'd recommend you pay a bit more and buy the model with a 'jammed spray arm' indicator The drying if superb, the 75degree... ...I have been using dishwashers since 1976 and the Aeg F80860 has to be the best one so far. The installation instructions included in the manual are comprehensive and are easy to follow. The machine was ready to use, as soon as the salt had been added and run through empty. The only sound that can be heard is the water running through the pipes when the machine draws water or lets it go down the drain. It has a short cycle of 30 minutes for those rinsed, less soiled dishes. There is also the option to have an economic wash which can be programmed to run at night. Somewhere in between is a programme to suit every load of dishes. Easy enough to set the programme or leave it on one setting for the same type of wash each time. ...Right well, I have just recently moved house and this little number was sitting in the kitchen ready and waiting. I didn't think twice about it because in all fairness - its a washing machine, you know? But when the time came to use it, I was quite impressed. ...Oh the delight!! I recently bought an AEG Lavamat Update after 12 long trusted years with a Zanussi. How glad i am! The AEG is a superior machine, with functions abounding, yet it is so easy to use, my boyfriend can finally wash clothes with ease!! With this machine you can just wash, rinse or spin separately at varying temperatures and spin speeds, you can delay washes, rinses and spins too as well as the usual start to finish programmes. There is no need to tell the machine how heavy or light the wash load is, as it weighs the clothes in the drum and alters the water usage accordingly. ...I recently had to buy a washer dryer to replace the Candy appliance that came with my flat when I purchased it. As all the appliances in my flat came as part of the package when I bought my (new build) flat, I have never before had to make such a grown up purchase - so I headed to the Which website to search for their best buys. This AEG washer dryer was The Best Buy, so I went ahead and ordered it on-line (got it for £350 via the Which website). I am really really pleased with this decision; the AEG is in a completely different league to the Candy. The machine was delivered in the evening so I didn't have to take a day off work. ...I bought the AEG 54750 VI and I have to admit I am very impressed especially after a bad experience with Bosch! The AEG passed its first challenge with flying colours - I loaded it up with really messy plates, trust me they weren't pleasant, and it got them clean to handwash standards! I was delighted but this feeling was soon topped as my wine glasses came out glistening, they actually looked brand new! I know from bitter experience that it is sometimes necessary to do a 'pre-wash' before putting the items into certain machines but I can happily report that this isn't the case with this dishwasher! ...you have to do is level the machine with its 4 adjustable feet, connect to a cold water supply (washing machine outlet), put the drain hose onto a suitable drain connector, plug into the mains and switch on. Following the handbook some basic options need to be selected such as water hardness and whether using tablet detergent, **** IN USE **** The salt compartment is really easy to fill using the provided funnel. The rinse aid is a little trickier, overflowing if filled too quickly. The powder or tablet goes into an open compartment with click down lid. You really DO need to take note of what is not suitable for dishwashers. For example aluminium stains badly in the rinse where there is a combination of heat and rinse aid. Although AEG say you can wash silver if kept separate, we found that it tarnishes. And steel items really do rust... Read review

...How exciting can a dishwasher be? If you have and aeg fav3a then the answer is very!! I simply had to get a new dishwasher after my new indisit one went hay wire after only 5 months knowing my consumer rights I decided to opt for a refund and get a different model. I knew I didn’t want another indisit so off I went to curry’s for a look and a feel for a new dishwasher. After walking round and round the display a couple of times I finally found one I liked, paid for it and it was delivered a couple of days later, my husband installed it and off we went, no more rough pan hands!! ...The first thing to say is that if you don't need to combine the washer and drier for very practical reasons - ie space, then don't. Don't get me wrong, the AEG is a very well put together machine that does what it's supposed to do - wash and then dry your laundry. The problem is that it doesn't perform these combined tasks as well as single function machines. A house move left us with little option but to get rid of our Bosch washer and Hotpoint drier and we opted for the AEG L16830 on the back of consumer recommendations. It looks good, it's easy to install, it's incredibly quiet on wash cycle, the controls are relatively user friendly and it washes pretty well. But........the drying cycle is very disappointing.
