Advantages: Pakistan and China gets a New pipeline attached to the Trans Caspian Pipeline

Charlie Wilson's Fight for Afghanistan

Advantages: Great Acting, excellent story
Disadvantages: Some sad scenes of the Afghan suffering

...Charlie Wilson's War is a film which I had been undecided about for a few weeks so I finally took the plunge and bought it. I think the deciding factor was that it stared Tom Hanks and Julie Roberts, both of which I like. The film features Charlie Wilson, played by Tom Hanks who is a party loving Congress man. He is good friends with Joanne who is a rich Socialite, played by Julia Roberts. Joanne manages to talk Charlie into looking at the troubles in Afghanistan where they are being invaded by the Russians. Charlie goes and sees the troubles first hand and is shocked at what he finds. He does agree to help Joanne by getting the weapons and ammunition which they need to defend their country. To do this Charlie is helped by a CIA agent, Gust Avrakotos and soon finds he needs to persuade the Congress to give them large amounts of money...

Advantages: Well written, colourful stories.
Disadvantages: It's authenticity has been questioned.

...accounts. Some parts of the book include tales in which she had no part, but in others she is an invisible observer. This works very well, although it can make some of the stories a bit deceptive. For example one of the chapters follows Sultans eldest son on a religious pilgrimage with three of his friends. I imagined that this story had been told to the author, but on referring to the foreword I realised that she had actually been present on the journey itself. Obviously her presence would have had an impact on their behaviour, so the authenticity of the book as an intimate portrayal of life in Afghanistan could be questioned to a certain degree. She tells us how the characters are thinking and feeling and again this unlikely to be truly authentic. Zekistan or Afghanistan?

Advantages: A third perspective real-time strategy game! Not many of those about!
Disadvantages: The missions are like puzzles. Once you know how to 'do' them, they're done.

You can?t deny that the content of the game has more than a passing resemblance to recent events in real life, and since the games based on a training tool used by the US Army; it?s most likely the intention. When you first play the game, you?ll have to go through several tutorials. The training levels in most games are boring but FSW actually manages to have an entertaining training level where your soldiers use training gear and fire blanks for authenticity.
