...Wanting an aftershave that would last longer than 5 minutes I decided to buy Aramis. Of course it was sold as a special, and came with a hair shampoo, shower gel and toilet bag. I only needed to spray a couple of toimes and felt the effect straight away. It has a smooth musky smell with a hint of wood. It stayed with me all day long and my wife said she could tell which rooms in the house I had been in. ...wants to get away from the more old fashion heavy scent. It lasts all day, which is good because men don’t reapply. It’s light enough for daywear but unusual enough to wear in the evening. The liquid is a pale yellow. You can get boxed gift sets, which include bath & shower gel plus aftershave. The aftershave comes in 75ml and 100ml, £20 for 75ml so quite a cheap aftershave to buy. ...I've never bought Avon toiletries, to be honest I would now how to but one of my relatives obviously does as the last two gifts I've received from them have been Avon products. I'm impressed by the Sensing range - the matt black packaging is classy and looks good on the bathroom shelf, and the scent is quite individual unlike some own brand products that smell like second rate imatations of top labels. The aftershave is a clean and crisp fragrance and coloured a cool blue, the range also includes deodorant (spray and roll-on) and shower gel. The staying power of the aftershave is not great but I guess that is reflected in the price, but as an everyday scent I like this.... Read review

...So I thought I'd try some Nivea Gel. I've been a fan of thier aftershave balm so I thought why not give thier gel a go. First impressions was that the Gel was very moisture rich a small grape sized amount lathered up nicely in fact you only really need a small amount as the gel is very rich. The smell is 'neutral' which is good as I was getting sick of Gillette fragrance although the light fragrance it does have sort of smells something like a baby product. (Must be the Chamomile). Once foamed up shaving was a doddle and gave a nice smooth finish with no irritation and didn't dry out my skin. All well and good you may think ? 2 weeks later... due to the rich moisture content of this gel (contains cotton seed oil, soy bean oil ? and cheap mineral oil ) I found myself getting small white spots on my face. Advantages: Very soothing/moisturising

...This post shave gel is simply brilliant. After suffering regularly from shaving rash this little beauty was the answer to most of my prayers. Easily absorbed into the skin, soothing and smelling quite nice, King of Shaves Post Shave Gel is the best aftershave moisturiser/soother I've ever tried. One tube lasts absolutely ages, even if you shave every day as I do so its well worth the money (it seems relatively expensive when you see it on the shelf). I'm not convinced by the little beads of vitamin E suspended in the gel but they rub in easily and don't do any harm I guess. To me, gel is more appealing than messy, creamy moisturisers - often I feel the creams are simply repackaged women's products with a 'masculine' fragrance and blue rather than pink box, but not KoS products. ...Bodycare are a relatively new high street retailer of health and beauty products, they have popped up in many major towns and cities. You may not have heard of them because I have never seen an advert for them in my life. Bodycare have an extensive range of day-to-day beauty products such as deodorants, shower gels and aftershaves at very competitive prices in comparison to where I usually shop (Boots or Superdrug). An example of their value is with the imperial leather shower gel range only 99p in comparison to boots that charge 2.19 for exactly the same. Aftershaves and perfumes are generally 25% cheaper than normal and lots of other noticeable savings. I have noticed that gift sets are decreasing in major retailers except the standard lynx sets you get everywhere but Bodycare supply a good range of gift set ideas that I haven... Read review
