Advantages: Long game, varied strategies. Better than sequel.

...Well many years ago now, Age of Empires was released and became a big hit with everyone. It was a good old real time strategy game, with lots of features and pretty decent gameplay. However, I must admit that despite loving strategy games in general, I never really got that excited about this particular game. I know I'm probably the only one but I'll give you some of my thoughts later. The game itself comes on one CD ROM and doesn't require too much hard drive space (a hundred or so minimum) in addition it should run on most systems with over 32MB RAM and anything over a 166MHz processer should do the trick. Graphically this game is rather good. Despite being before everyone had 3D cards, so obviously it doesn't require one, it uses a method of pseudo 3D graphics giving a nice angle to view the proceedings. Sound quality is also... ...In a society where children as young as 12 are having babies of their own and 9 year olds are being admitted to rehab for alcoholism and drug addiction, it is apparent that somewhere along the line we have fallen down on our duties to guide the younger generation effectively through their youth. The question is what part should the law play in bringing up our kids and more specifically when answering the question of under age sex, what influence should it have on setting boundaries of what is an acceptable age in which to consent to having sex. I don't believe kids only just entering their teens are fully equipped to deal with the prospect of sex and all the complications that can come with it. It fills me with tremendous sadness to know that entering into a physical relationship so young can only make children jaded in later years... Read review

...Age Of Empires 2 was a wise move by Microsoft because it goes back to the past of the world. Many companies have looked into the future because they think that many gamers will be amazed with futuristic models. However Microsoft has gone back to the past ; and I think that it was clever because it is more accurate (we have found evidence on how they do things) rather than a wild guess for the future. Also, many adults have been hooked up on Age Of Empires 2 because they like the history of the country and would like to see how Microsoft managed to achieve this clever nifty piece of software. Even people who study Roman History will like this because it has the siege weapons and everthing that they used. ...Age Of Empires 2 If you like real time strategy games then you’ll love this. This is game is fantastic!!! I think it is one of the best games ever. You gather resources like food, gold, wood and stone and build your empire. It has good graphics, easy to play and is really simple, it is also really addictive. If you want to test your ability to forge an empire and destroy others then this game is what you need. You can choose from five campaigns, which are William Wallace, Joan Of Arc, Genghis Khan, Saladin and Barbarossa. There at least five scenarios in each campaign which consist of you destroying the enemy after you have gathered enough resources. Beware, the enemy can attack any time so keep an eye out. ...Microsoft does not try to hide the fact that age of mythology is based solely on ages of empires 2, it says it on the case, in the manual it compares one of the races (i think its egyptians) to the gameplay in age of empires and the game is very similar in many aspects. However in other ways it's a completly different game, with hero's beign able to rise from the dead this helps a lot, the ablility to choose your god which in turn changes what units you can build and what godly power you recieve and the campaigns have made this game so much more than an age of empires spoof. The campaign was very enjoyable and if i had to find a fault it would lie with multiplayer. There is a lot of what gamers call "lag" which is basically the game bieng slow and jumpy and matches can take a while to set up but this is common to most online strategy... Read review

...A couple of years back I realised that I had made one of the best decisions of my life, to Install age of empires two, age of conquerors. This game is still stunning, even to today’s standards, You can play it out as the Aztecs and even the Japanese, but this game still has a very good sense of originally that comes with it. You cant really compare this game to some modern games, that quite frankly, are rushed, and can’t even live up to the standards of age of empires two. Like its predecessor, age of kings, age of conquerors, still has the amazing features that still make it a very playable game. Age of conqueres spans from the early Vikings all the way to the, well lets say, the early gun powder age.
