Optima Blackhawk. Why I would buy another one.

Advantages: lightweight. sturdy. attractive.
Disadvantages: not found

...I bought one almost 5 years ago, costing £160. It has served me brilliantly for my daily 16 mile round trip to and from my workplace. I also spend a fair amount of time on the Transpennine trail, having covered it's full length (Southport to Hornsea including the Chesterfield link once and the York and Leeds links a few times). The machine has covered a number thousands of miles over the years (wish I'd logged them all) and is still a sound and sturdy bike for all that. I'm not a chrome polisher but do oil and hose pipe it occasionally. I just replaced both wheels after the rear rim failed due to fair wear and tear and replaced the chain twice, due again, to fair wear and tear (i'm a bit heavy at 15 stone). I'm looking at this web page at the Optima Blackhawk to see if they're still not phased out, because I really wish I could justify...

Canon Ixus 100 IS - Small and oh so stylish

Toshiba NB100

Advantages: Nice look, good battery life.
Disadvantages: Too small.

...actually pretty impressive. Function The notebook works quite well with wireless internet and doesn't cut off often as I have found with wi-fi on some other laptops. It also has an impressive battery life, in a recent car journey, I found it lasted about 3 and 3/4 hours, easily enough time for all of the film I was watching as well as some of another. It is available in two versions, Ubuntu Linux and Windows XP Home., but the Linux has 512Mb of RAM and an 80Gb hard disk, the Windows one has 1Gb of RAM and a 120Gb drive. I personally own the windows version, since I know more about the operating system and prefer the high memory levels. The rest of it's specifications are pretty average for a note book and it runs as such. Overall The Toshiba NB100 is great if you're japanese and/or believe things should be made...

Vintage VRS100 - Blue

Advantages: The Wilkinson hardware. The playability. Good value.
Disadvantages: The blue finish hides the flamed maple veneer. Tone+Volume knobs. Serial number format.

...Vintage VRS100 Well first off I paid £150 for this. Ex-demo, so not new, not second hand, think in-between the two. This is a PRS copy and Vintage have pretty much nailed the body shape! It's a Double-cut. Vintage says the VRS means "Vintage Rock Series". The finish I chose for this guitar was the "through blue". A very dark blue finish on the front with a lighter greeny-blue on the back and neck. This finish is semi transparent (you can see the wood). Through blue is now a discontinued colour. For the body 3 pieces of Eastern poplar have been used. A bookmatched flamed maple veneer is glued on top. The top of the guitar is carved while the back is contoured for comfort. The neck is nice and chunky set neck and is made up of 2 pieces of maple with a 1 piece rosewood fingerboard. Upon the fretboard are 24 medium frets...
