White Tigers in Tenerife??

Advantages: Great value for money, an amazing amount to see and do.

The Parque Ecologico Las Aguilas Del Teide, or the Ecological Eagle Park of Teide, is a "Tropical Paradise," with 72000 square metres of land. Advantages: Lots to see and handlers are good with the animals.

I do not recommend you go to Sun Club!!

Advantages: lovely spacious rooms, great view at meal times, plenty of sun loungers
Disadvantages: Mainly German guests, disgusting food, no entertainment

Tourists Only

Advantages: Good public transport. Good parks. Fantastic weather.
Disadvantages: Too touristy. Apart from parks not much natural stuff to see. Poor emergency services.

The voltage is only 110 volts instead of 225 so your electrical appliances will work slower, like your hairdryer. The water is rich in minerals because it is acquired by desalination and so its not wise to drink it. Don?t forget your suncream because it is very hot and the strength of the suns rays is about 30% higher here than anywhere else in Europe, due to it being actually closer to Africa. The public transport people are very helpful and puerto mogan is a nice little fishing village that you can get to from Puerto Rico harbour. The alcohol in supermarkets is cheap and the bottled water is readily available and cheap....

For the daylight hours there's also a rather good water park - The Octopus Park - with the usual array of rides, slides and water cannons and in nearby Los Cristianos there's another good value zoo and nature park - 'Parque las Aguilas'. This one doesn't have the spectacular dolphin or sealion shows like 'Loro Parque' but there's some very impressive big cats, loads of monkeys, reptiles (including some whopping great crocodiles) and a superb bird show - you know, eagles and owls and stuff. For me though the highlight of any trip to Tenerife is a jaunt up to the Teide National Park. Even if you don't have a hire-car, there are loads of excursions and sightseeing trips up into the mountains and they're all well worth it. The most amazing thing about Tenny is the way the scenery radically changes as you climb higher and higher up the mountain...

...is split into two, theres Mojacar Playa which is about a 13Km stretch of sand, bars and restaurants, but because they are so spread out, you would need a car for some areas. Then theres Mojacar Pueblo which is a small town perched high upon a hillside. We were staying in a small Urbanisation called Canada de Aguila which was a mixture of Spanish people and english. The apartment was very spacious, with an extra large balcony giving us great views towards the sea and surrounding area. A 5 minute walk brought us out into an area with a few Pizzerias and a Fish restaurant. We went to Dani's about 5 times and made friends with a rather nice young spanish girl. She only spoke pigeon english, and we only could say Adios, gracias etc. By the end of the holiday we had learnt some new words. She was very sad when we left, and promised we would...

...especially when one of the birds refused to return to the keepers. There is a reasonable selection of animals kept in fairly good conditions. I was particularly taken with the Orangutangs - although I thought they could have used a bit more space. The orchid house is a must see withdozens of different species. The zoo opens at 10 in the morning and stays open until around 6 in the evening For those who enjoy the Wild West a visit to Sioux City offers The best shows or so the brochure says and a Friday Night Barbeque with a Western Show and Live country music. Situated near to Playa del Aguila. Buses run from Playa del Ingles on Tuesdays to Sunday. Cannot comment any further as I didn't go.
