...Much has been written and said about America's first female serial killer Aileen Wuornos. The "highway hooker" began her killing spree on November 30 1989 and ended it on her 7th victim in November 1990. Despite evidence that her first victim Richard Mallory was a seriel rapist, her plea of self defense was thrown out and she later made a plea of "no contest". Eventually she was sentenced to 6 death sentences. For years, Aileen begged for them to take her life sooner rather than later, and invariably claimed that she wanted to make right with God. And in 2001, she began to fight to bring her death sentence forward. She even changed her initial defense that she was defending herself against rapists, claiming that she murdered them in cold blood. ...Ray Quinn, as you may know was one of the runner-ups of The X Factor, a UK 'talent' show. Normally, I'd disregard the 'talent' bit as this is the show that gave us Chico but when i heard of Ray I decided to have a little look myself. Coem on, it's a swing/jazz album sung by a 19 year old Brit - It's not something you see everyday. Strangely though, i have never called it a novelty album. From song one (Ain't That a Kick In The Head) you can see why: Ray Quinn can sing. And he can sing flipping well to be honest! Normally I'm not the biggest swing fan but this album is a ray of light for two reasons - Firstly, it's really incroduced me into the world of jazz/swing music and perhaps even more importantly, it has proven that Britain does have talent! Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. Deliciously Fruitful

Yummy new alcoholic beverage!

Advantages: Moreish and not fizzy

...This is honestly the most tasty, refreshing alcoholic drink I have yet to try! I was starting to get bored of the typical Smirnoff Ice, WKD etc etc because they're so fizzy and bloating and really sweet as well, so made me feel sick after only a couple (way before I was suitably drunk!) But Quinns is so different. It's not fizzy so you can drink them like juice,( which could be quite dangerous!), and they don't make you're teeth feel like they're coated in sugar. They are made from 100% fruit so taste like no other drink you've tried, and this also makes them really refreshing and nice to drink in the hot weather, especially poured over a glass of ice, as recommended on the bottle. The Second Great book in the Quinn brothers quartet

Advantages: This is a fast read and very enjoyable.
Disadvantages: Subject manor could be disturbing

...Can I just start by saying that I have no objection to shows like X Factor or Pop Idol. After all, everybody's gotta start somewhere, and its probably harder to do a live audition in front of millions than it is to do a demo tape and stick it in the post. What I do object to though, is when the winner's prize is compromised by dozens of other "losers" bringing out albums. They lost. There should be some sort of clause in the contract preventing them from releasing anything within a certain time of the winner being announced, make it fair for the actual winner. Anyway, rant over.
