aiptek make good or bad

Advantages: very small and compact
Disadvantages: seems a bit fragile

...I am writing an opinion about the aiptek pocket dv 11 but as this and the aiptek pocket dv are more or less the same and i could not add the specific product i thought i would do it here I have recently aquired one of the dv 11 from america and it arrived safely but i would warn anyone who gets it shipped over there is a £40.00 surcharge when it gets here for vat so whatever the price is in us dollars add $60.00 to it and this will be payable before they hand over the package The camcorder and all the software cost $149 plus $36 for shipping and $50 for the smart card which was quite cheap £153 but then you add the $60.00 as well and it cost £193 which is still a reasonable price with all that is on offer right the dv 11 this is a camcorder,digital camera,voice recorder and a webcam all in one The dv11 fits into...

Picture in your pocket

Advantages: Small, 11 mp camera, easy useage
Disadvantages: Battery life, fuzzy in dark light

...I bought this mini DV as an alternative to shooting videos on my phone, as I often found myself doing that. But I thought, why use a phone when I can buy a dedicated video camera for as little as this cost (£57 from Bonprix but usually costs around £80 which is still cheap). I wasn't expecting it to be that good at this price but I was actually surprised. The camera looks good. I chose one in a red finish. It is also a case of just pressing the record button and away you go, shooting your first video. But it is best if you tweak a bit with the settings first. I chose to have mine in XVGA mode as it is faster than D1 but is still of a watchable quality. You can access these settings simply by pressing the Mode button. To take a picture you just press the button with a little camera on located at the top of the unit...

A Little Gem (that isn't lettuce!)

...The Pocket DV2 camcorder from Aiptek really is a little gem. ~~~~~~~~ Introduction ~~~~~~~~ I have never owned, and very rarely used, a camcorder before this one, which I acquired about a month ago. But even I can see that this isn’t a standard sort of camera. The obvious difference from a standard camcorder is size. This one fits snugly into the palm of my hand. Dimensions are a miniscule 8cm tall, 8cm deep (front to back) and only 4cm wide. Despite its mini size, it still manages to incorporate a 1.4 inch LCD screen like the one that you’d usually find on a digital camera. Plus it only weighs 123g (without batteries) – less than an orange. Well, less than the orange I just weighed, anyway. A small compact camara

...I was looking across a gadgets website and i came across this Aiptek Pocket DV2 camcorder. The positive reviews, price and the features didnt take me long in ordering one for myself. Basically the Aiptek Pocket DV2 camcorder has got four major features that include Digital Video Recording, PC Webcam, Still Photos and Voice Recording. The pocket DV2 is like a updated version from the pocket DV with more features including a 1.4" colour LCD screen, Audio/Video Out, 1.3 Mega-Pixel resolution and Expandable Memory (using compact flash cards). I think that DV2 is better than the first one because the colour LCD screen allows you to see what you are going to capture before doing so. Also the resolution is greater which makes the pictures slightly clearer. Also being able to expand the memory as although the camara comes with 16MB...

Good camera but don't forget the batteries!

...I was given this mini camcorder as a christmas present this year after I had been searching for months for a decent little camera that records not only still shots but also good quality video footage. The Aiptek Pocket DV T300LE seemed to be the perfect model for me boasting many features that i had been looking for. On opening the box I was impressed with the size of the camcorder. It is small enough to fit snugly into my hand and even into the smallest of pockets. The buttons seemed to be well placed to achieve optimum ease of use. It was supplied with 2 AA batteries and an SD card so it was ready to go immediately. One of the best features of this camera I found to be that there is no fiddling around with various 'on/off' or 'mode' buttons. When you see something that you'd like to record you simply unfold the viewfinder...

Aiptek PocketCam 3M

Advantages: Very reasonably priced, quality photos, comes with tripod and case.
Disadvantages: Slow shutter speed, the flash reflects white if using indoors.

...I bought my PocketCam for £79.99, I was blinded by the 3 mega pixels, the tripod and the price. I somewhat regret the purchase now though. It was intended to be an upgrade from my 1 mega pixel Kodak digital camera, which was great but the picture quality was not up to scratch so I purchased this one and proceeded to take photos, it was during the day and they all came out great with no problems. The next time I used it was indoors in the evening the flash reflected off everything light or white so the pictures where terrible, after much adjustment with the settings I managed to take a few good ones but these varied as to how much light was in the room. And whether the flash was set to auto or not. The other thing I found was that the delay the camera took to take the actual photo was about 2 seconds therefore any photos of moving...

My Nice Horrible Little Camera

Advantages: Small + compact, cheap, over an hour of high quality digital video (with 512 mb CF card)
Disadvantages: Doesnt focus automatically, small screen, annyoing volume that you cannot turn down!, seems fragile

...OK. When buying a Digital Camera, go for the big names like Canon, Nikon, Kodak - not some random make "aiptek"????!!!! I bought this camera from a supermarket in America called Target. It was $99.99 which was around £55.00 at the time. It seemed ideal: video and pictures. So i pondered and then on the last day i had the right amount of money left so i thought i might as well buy it. And at first I was really angry - it felt cheap, the buttons felt cheap, the sound sounded cheap, i thought "oh well not a very good buy!" But when i started fiddling with it and the menus on it and stuff (i love techy menus and stuff like that!) it grew on me. The pictures and the videos are good quality, but only if you get the focus on the camera exactly right, and if you keep it really still. It was easy to install on the computer...

A bulge in your pocket that will make you happy

Advantages: So easy to use, cheap, good quality photos
Disadvantages: Slightly fat, rubber inserts somewhat fragile

...at the back of a pay-as-you-leave bus one day - price was an important parameter. The cheapest brand new digital camera in Argos or Comet is/was around the £50 mark, and a 2.1 megapixel spec....having used my wife's small silver curved pleasuregiver (the Olympus....whaddaya think I meant?), I know that 2.1 megapixels is okay but a little limiting at times. So I hit the well-trodden virtual streets of EBay. For around £60, you can get a 6.6 megapixel non-optical zoom beastie imported from Germany. Oy vey, too expensive. Any second-hand, previously-cherished 3.1 megapixel cameras around? Not many, actually.....but in the end, I bid on and won an Aiptek PocketCam, boxed and used twice, for £26 including delivery. Next day, it was in my hands, service faster than a bat up a nightdress. And I'm very impressed; here are the techie speccies...

Pocket sized fun with a camera that needs the sun

Advantages: Simple to operate, easy to download photos & videos, cheap and cheerful
Disadvantages: picture quality a little suspect (even at high resolution), lack of lighting/flash, suspect sound

...I've always wanted to own a digital video camera but never had the money to fork out for one. But this all changed as soon as the Nisis Pocket DV2 Cam caught my eye. I was on a tight budget and really didn't want the hassle of having to install a video capture card and software on my PC just so I can download video and pictures from a more expensive major branded digital video camera. The Nisis DV camera was the answer to all my prayers. It had instant appeal as it was very dinky and lightweight and only required 2 x AA batteries. Unfortunately, this small amount of power doesn't last long and you'll soon find yourself changing batteries very often. I would recommend that you try and keep the LCD screen off at all times and not to play back any movies or photos on the LCD as this will consume most of the power in one short burst...
