...Air Berlin Low cost Flight s to Germany and Beyond This summer was the first time I had flown and to say I was nervous about my first flight was an understatement, especially as I had heard terrible things about other low cost air lines. I had nothing to worry about. The staff were pleasant and efficient and with the added bonus of being able to check in online the night before there were no worries about where I would be sitting. The flight I took was from London Stanstead to BerlinTegel, a flight of about 1hour and 20 mins on a Focker 100. Booking I booked the flight with Air Berlin direct on there website www.airberlin.com which has since been improved since I booked my flight. You now use a map and click on the airport you wish to depart from and all the routes avaliable from that airport show up. Then choose the dates...

Air Berlin: low cost German flying!

Advantages: Cheap and efficient

Air Berlin, does,nt get much better at this price

Advantages: Book early for great prices,modern fleet, excellent staff
Disadvantages: Wish they flew to more locations from the UK.

We chose Air Berlin as we are only an hour from Manchester Airport and they fly to Paderborne which is about 40 minutes from my dads place in Germany. Arrived at Manchester airport with a very nervous wife.My wife is disabled and I had declared this when I booked ticket several months earlier.Once we had checked baggage in, which went smoothly, immediatly refered to small office where all arrangements were made by Manchester Airport staff to make sure my wife got to the aircraft without too much difficulty. Wheel chair supplied for us to go through security and departure lounge. Once called to board, Manchester staff there again to help my wife onto plane. From the minute we got on the plane, Air Berlin staff were great. Flew out on Boing 747/800 I think. I am 6 fooot 4...

Air Berlin, German efficiency at its best ?

Advantages: Cheap, clean, efficient
Disadvantages: German style entertainment !!

...Air Berlin are a newish airline trying to tap the short haul cheap end of the market, they offer a 'no frills' approach and as such you get what you pay for. We booked via an independent travel agent so thankfully did not have to endure the website or phones etc. I was surprised, I will be honest, as a family we are not great fliers (the wife hates it) and as such have little to compare. On our flight to Benidorm we seemed to have a spanking new Airbus, which showed the route, time, temperature etc and although the 'entertainment' was a little lame, this is a German Airline which was operating on a UK - Spain route, so what should everyone expect. Staff on board were courteous and the fact you got a free sandwich and soft drink was good enough as I was expecting to cough up overtime they walked around. To summarise, there...

Brilliant Berlin

...It is one of my life's ambitions to visit all the capital cities of Europe so I was thrilled when my parents said we could go to Berlin. Berlin is the Capital City of Germany and is located in the north-eastern part of the country. We stayed in Berlin for four nights. That may not sound like a long time but we managed to cram an awful lot of exploring into our time there! ...One of my customers made, few months ago, a request of a survey report on low-cost airlines worldwide. For myself and two of my assistants it was the beginning of several flights. Not being a supporter of low-cost airlines I decided to assign most of the survey to my assistants keeping for myself only the airlines that, from advertisement or web site, are offering a better service. To make an acceptable report it is necessary to take at least two flights on different routes. Surfing the Air Berlin website I was able to book two sector flights. 124 Euro (airport taxes and fuel surcharge included) to fly from Milano-Orio al Serio (that means Bergamo) in Italy to Düsseldorf in Germany/return; and then 58 Euro (airport taxes and fuel surcharge included) to fly from Münster-Osnabrück in Germany to Palma di Maiorca in Spain...

Another useless Budget Airline? Not this time

Advantages: Very good prices, good service, growing destination catalogue, very good airmiles programme
Disadvantages: Still not too many destinations possible, 1 bad experience (although it was on boxing day)

...I started flying with Air Berlin about two years ago, until then i'd never heard of them but they offered a cheap flight to where i had to go so i thought i'd give them a go. I've heard alot of horror stories about so called budget airlins and wasn't really expecting alot but to be honest, i was very pleasantly surprised. The flight ran smoothly, the staff were friendly and the food was ok, especially as it was free. I have since then flown many a times with this airline and am more than happy with it every time. I havealso signed up with there top bonus loyalty programme and fly with them at every available opportunity. The service offered on board is always friendly and helpful and the prices are more often than not very reasonable. When on board i have also been offered a free Roll/sandwich and drink (tea, cola, fruit juice...
