Air Force One

Advantages: Great acting from Harrison Ford.
Disadvantages: Quite a lot of hi-jacking films about. Not most original story.

...This is another action packed film starring Harrison Ford as the President of the United States (Jim Marshall). He is travelling home with his wife, daughter and a planeload of top government officials on Air Force One - one of the most guarded planes. A few minutes into the journey the plane gets hi-jacked by terrorists led by Korshunov (Gary Oldman). Thinking the President has escaped, he then threatens to start killing passengers every half hour unless his country's imprisoned dictator is freed. Marshall then realises it is his responsibility to protect his family and the other passengers. The Vice President (Glenn Close) does her best to negotiate with the terrorists but they keep their word and stert killing passengers. The President then comes up with a plan to get the passengers of the plane by getting them to parachute...

Advantages: A good watch

...Air Force One is a brilliant film starring Harrison Ford as the president of the United States whose plane Air Force One is hijacked in mid air and he must fight to save the lives of his wife and daughter who are held at gun point. Bravely he defies his orders to abandon the plane by his very own escape pod (!) and stays on board to help his family. One of the funniest parts is when he phones the White House where the switchboard operator refuses to put him through because she doesn't believe he is the president. All in all a brillliant blockbuster...

...First of all, the plot is more than a bit hokey. A President staying aboard a hijacked Air Force One and playing patriot isn't likely to happen in real life. But this is an action movie, and real life doesn't really count, does it? That said, Ford is excellent (a real surprise, huh?), the terrorist is a scare, and made more beleivable by the fact that he makes good on stuff he says. This makes the sense of danger in the film all that much more intense. While much of the supporting acting is cardboard, it's the lead roles that really shine....

...Another excellent film starring Harrison Ford as the President of the United States. Air force one basically gets taken over by terrorists wanting their comrade to be released from prison This acting in the film is excellent because the terrorists make threats like they will kill hostages every 30minutes and thats exactly what happens. Most american "threat" movies spend hours with threats and no action but this film does actually give the impression of what terrorists are really like. gary oldman plays the head terrorist part very well. Harrison ford basically stows away and sabotages the plane from within picking off terrorists now and then. Plenty of shootings and airline action, although the crashing of the plane is the end must have been done a 1980s computer as the graphics are very poor, tey should havce crashed a real...

...I rented Air Force One on video a few months ago, and was very impressed by it. The film stars Harrison Ford as the president of the United States. Him and his wife and his daughter all have to fly on a plane and they do, but it is hi-jacked by terrorists (even though its the most secure aircraft in the world.)so that they can get their Russian General freed. Given the option to leave he decides not to and in turn decides to free his family and the rest of the people on the plane by going after the terrorists. A great film to watch in your home or the cinema....plenty of action and nail biting scenes....

Gulf Air

Advantages: clean, comfortable, good service
Disadvantages: No direct flights out to Asia

...return trips (making that 12 flights given they all needed a change over) and for each of these Gulf Air was the cheapest available flight, twice when I had booked a good few months in advnace and once when I needed a relatively last minute flight. They are definitely a good option to check out if price is a pressing issue. All bar one of my flights arrived within minutes of their designated landing time and so I would say the airline is very puntctual. One flight from New Delhi to Bahrain was delayed by around 3 hours and as a result I missed the connection from Bahrain to London. All passengers who were affeted were immediatel booked onto the next available flight which was in 12 hours time and given a free visa to Bahrain, a 4 star hotel room with 3 meals and transport to and from the hotel in the interim. I was very impressed with the crew on board - they took the time to speak to everyone and when one lady was unwell on the way back they took special care of her and provided everything she would need very quickly. She was moved to the back of the aircraft for some privacy and so that she would be close to the galley where all the supplies were. This showed laterel thinking and made everyone more comfortable on board. SUMMARY I would not hesitate to travel with Air Southwest again and even would be prepared to pay a little more if the level of service remained as high! Compared with the trains it is rather more civilised and certainly less stressful than driving. They may fly near you - have a look at www.airsouthwest.com for flights and offers. Clean air?

Advantages: it does work.
Disadvantages: replacement filters, breakdowns.

You will need to be able to quickly and easily replace any filtration units and have a machine that is not too obtrusive for any domestic use. Way back in January 2006 I bought 4 of these air purifier units. I am a smoker but I like to keep my smoking to only one room of my house and I wanted to try to keep this from going into all the other rooms.
