...This is another low cost airline which I have used on a number of times and I have found reasonable in cost. The website is very easy to use and informative to the costings of the various add-ons. The staff are very friendly when you get to the airport and always want to please. Recently when my daughter flew to Malaga she found that her luggage was missing so when she spoke to a member of Monarch Airlines in Malaga they were straight away on to the problem and everything got sorted in less than 24 hours and they personally delivered her suitcase to where she was staying. When we booked my daughter in it was a little confusing at Gatwick to know which queue to go to apart from that they were very quick at the booking in desk. The staff were very helpfull and even though it was very busy they still were very polite...

Malaysia Airlines, sets the benchmark for other airlines!

Advantages: Very hospitable, great customer service, no delays, no fuss, very welcoming
Disadvantages: You won't want to leave the plane!!

...Malaysia Airlines have flown me between Heathrow and Kuala Lumpur twice a year for the last 8 years and I wouldn't fly with any other airline. Firstly, if you're flying too and from Kuala Lumpur on a regular basis, join the Enrich frequent flyer reward programme. You will soon amass points that can then used for upgrades to business class when you want a real treat. Malaysian custom is to be very polite and hospitable and its no different with Malaysia Airlines (MAS). Whether its terminal three at Heathrow or check in at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, you get a warm greeting and all the assistance you require. In my experience, nothing ever seems too much trouble for either the MAS ground or flight crews. Many years ago I mentioned that my wife and I were on honeymoon and we were pleasantly surprised on-board with a bottle...

Delta? Fly by any other airline...

Advantages: Cheap flights
Disadvantages: Basic plane interiors compared to UK airlines, not good value for money

...I chose to fly with Delta over any other airline for my last holiday to California because having checked various sites they were the cheapest schedule airline to fly from Gatwick. I discovered most airlines which fly to San Francisco only fly from Heathrow which was not an option for us - I learnt my lesson having carried suitcases around London Underground and on trains before (in rush hour) and it's no laughing matter with all the commuters. The next most important thing to us was how long the overall journey was going to take, and the times varied wildly depending on how long you were prepare to stop-over somewhere for refuelling. Generally speaking, the longer you are prepared to wait on a stopover the cheaper the flights will be. Delta had a very good choice of flights, with most of them stopping over either in Cincinnati...

  Still Pampered by Asia's First Airline

Advantages: Food, service; clean, neat planes; up-to-date in-flight movies; excellent seats/legroom; smooth landings; Mabuhay lounge.
Disadvantages: Sometimes late (due to small fleet?); minuscule presence in Europe, none in US east coast.

...Why PAL? Since embarking on my annual visit to the crazy, exciting, troubled, colourful and much-missed motherland last year, I chose to take the Philippines' national carrier, Philippine Airlines (PAL), once more for this year's trip. This, because of a most pleasant hop I had between Hong Kong and Manila. (The 17-hour flight from Chicago to Hong Kong was sheer agony in United Airlines' extremely tight seats and mediocre food in Economy class.) And its relatively cheaper fare (about $2430 for Business Class; ~ 2,000 EUR or 1,380 GBP) for a direct Los Angeles - Manila flight (with a brief stopover in Guam outbound for refuelling.) Yes, I chose to fly PAL again, despite last year's four-hour delay by PAL that ruined my entire return trip to the US, forcing me to languish for nearly eight hours in Hong Kong International Airport...

Review of Philippine Airlines

American Airlines: Absolutely Average

Advantages: Comfortable seating. Plently of leg room. Excellent website.
Disadvantages: Disappearing Attendants.

...It was our 30th wedding anniversary in May and we wanted a holiday to remember! After much deliberation we decided on a music themed road trip in America. Starting in Chicago, we would travel via the old Route 66 to St Louis, then onward to Nashville, Memphis, Jackson, Lafayette and finally New Orleans. The next decision was with which airline to travel. To a degree the decision was made for us as American Airlines fly directly to Chicago daily from Manchester (our nearest airport) at a reasonable time - leaving at 10.30 a.m. and arriving in Chicago's O'Hare at 1 p.m. (Other UK airports served by American Airlines are London's Stansted and Heathrow). Return flights to Chicago are currently (May 2008) £351 per person. Other US destinations are available at a range of prices. To keep things simple we also used an American Airlines...

...--Prices-- As with all airlines the prices go up and down on a day to day basis. The main reason we decided to use American was because for the 4 of us they were around £200 cheaper than BA. Going There- --Check in and Boarding-- We tried to check in online as we have done with other airlines but the website wouldnt let us and said we needed to check in at the airport instead. We could enter all our personal information onto the website though which would save some time at check in. We used the self service checkin which wouldnt allow us to check in online, however one of the customer service clerks said we could check in self service then they would check our bags at the desk. Airline to Love

Advantages: Now fly from Stansted. Great Value, Good staff, Trouble free

...Those of you who know the reasons behind my trip to the USA will know there is more meaning to the title of this op than would first appear. Those who don't, take a second look, you'll work it out. I chose to fly with continental to the shores of Virginia for two reasons, firstly the price and secondly the fact that they offer a service out of Stansted, Essex. The latter is a new service which began on 1st May, I flew out on 17th May and the whole trip was hastily arranged. My ticket was booked effortlessly and painlessly over the Internet and required collection at the Airlines desk at the airport. No problems here except that the ticket printer was broken so my ticket was hand written. Check in was swift, no queues, no hassle and the stff were very friendly and helpful. My flight was in 2 legs and once checked in boarding...

An efficent airline

Advantages: Staff, efficent, good entertainment, punctual
Disadvantages: Food is OK

...I have used Malaysian Airlines on quite a few occasions for business & pleasure to Malaysia & also within the country. In all honesty there is very little to criticise them about, they use Jumbo jets for the UK to Malaysia flights & smaller aircraft for the domestic flights. The Jumbos are well equipped with individual screens behind the seats; they offer music, films & games using the wired hand held control you use for operating the system as a games controller. Legroom is standard 'cattle class', no better or worse than most other major airlines. The staff are very polite, helpful & efficient; they help to make the flights enjoyable & are very attentive when you need their service. The meals on board were at best OK, you will never go hungry or thirsty as they are always serving complimentary snacks & drinks & their in flight...

Cheap & Easy Airline

...I reguarly travel with Monarch airlines as part of my job and in my own leisure time, I have foudn them to be one of the best airlines i have ever had the pleasure of travelling with. The flights are reasonably priced and you can get exceptional deals if booked early, from my own experience flghts are cheaper booked from Birmingham airport for some reason on pretty much all occasions this has been the case. The staff are polite and helpful and check in is really easy even when the flights booed are last minute and you dont already have the tickets to hand. Furthermore, all the flights I ahve been on recently have been on time if not ahead of schedule, the only down side would be the leg room, but this can be increased for £15....
