...This is my first opinion at ciao.uk! I come from Berlin, germany`s capital. I am at german ciao,too. I think the first opinion of me msut something about my country like the German airport. The airport Otto-Lilienthal in Berlin-Tegel is one of the three airports in Berlin. It is in the northwest of Berlin. You can come to the airport with car,taxi,u-bahn,s-bahn and special busses. It is a big airport but nothing to Heathrow Airport. Last year when I was at Heathrow airport I thought I were on a market. I didn't see such a big airport before. It was twice as big as the airport in Tegel. the airport was built in the 19 century for the army. in the world war it was a airport for food for the people and the army. Advantages: Small and efficient. Easy access to all of Italy
Disadvantages: Ryan Air not always on time (but the airport makes the wait enjoyable)

...Since the price increase and quality decrease in Easy Jet flights I have looked elsewhere for European travel and discovered Ryan Air. Working in Italy this summer I had cause to use Ryan Air out of Genoa (Genova in Italy) Airport and have been impressed with the renovation work that has been carried out to make this a lovely little airport. The cafes, bars and duty free are just big enough for the small number of comuters who use the airport. The waiting area shows English and Italian films and the check in is friendly and efficient. The airport link bus runs to the train station (with direct lines to Milan, Rome, Venice, Pisa and the ferry terminal for Sicily and Sardinia) and centre of the city avery 30 minutes making Genoa a great airport to start any journey into Italy from.... ...If you live anywhere from Newcastle to Birmingham then you really should be looking to fly from the best regional airport in the UK. Situated at the end of its own motorway junction, Manchester Airport must have the best connections of any airport outside of Heathrow. The airport also has its own railway station with diretc connections to all the major cities in the north of England and connections via Manchester to the rest of the UK. A second runway has just been built and this should ease delays, not that the delays at this airport are as bad as at some of the London airports. The airport has 3 terminals, one of which is virtually dedicated to British Airways flights. All are well layed out and surprising not at all sterile like other airports. ...Nuremberg airport in southern Germany is located about an hour and a half north of Munich. It is a small but very nice airport. It is very easy to find your way around inside the airport. The way to the airport is also very easy. It is well signposted and just easy to reach. Because of its small size you do not need to check in hours before your departure. Sometimes it is sufficient if you turn up at the airport just 30 minutes before your flight. (That depends on the airline though.) It has three flights to London-Stansted daily. They are operated by Eurowings (in co-operation with Lufthansa). Even though the airport is relatively small it has everything one might need. The atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly, and it is very clean. The only thing that could be improved are the short stay parking spots right in front... Read review

Advantages: Small airport with very friendly helpful staff
Disadvantages: A terrible Airport to land at by night

...Crete airport has to be one of the worst airports i have ever flown into, My job was cabin crew for a small Eurpoean airline which flew into crete several times a week. When landing by night the flight deck (PILOT) always told us that it would be a hard scary landing as the runway is very badly lit by night. Not only this but the runway has sea at the end of it and the plane has to touch down virtually as soon as it passes over the sea. Once at the airport it is very small but well laid out with a small arrivals and a small departure lounge. The airport has duty free a small refreshment area and several small shops inside. The down side is that the airport has very few seats for passengers and the air conditioning is very rarely working. Along with this the aircraft handling crew are very slow and work to a pace of their own... Read review

...I was so incredibly pleasantly surprised by the Madrid airport! With the city itself not being exactly a paragon of cleanliness and organisation, the airport was everything one could ask for in an airport -- very easily accessible from downtown (the new underground extension takes you right there, for very cheap, under £1, and even had flight information on the underground platforms); clean; comfortable (well, as comfortable as airports get). It is a very modern building, easy to find your way around, staff generally friendly, nice big washrooms. I even got to see a Real Madrid footballer there!... Read review

...WEll this airport, funny enough , is in Coventry. Luckily it is easily found and well sign posted, apart from the planes around it, you'd think it was a cow shed not an airport. To get to the airport it is easily reached by car. The train station is 3 miles from the airport and there is a bus (number 737) which runs between the airport and station hourly. There are car parking spaces right outside the terminal, these are available for up to an hour for those picking up and dropping off travellers. There is airport car parking available around the other side of the airport, there is a free shuttle bus from the car park to the terminal. The cheapest way is to pre-book, this costs £41 for 7 days. There are two companies which provide car rental at the terminal too. There is also a few hotels not far from the airport if you'd prefer... Read review

Advantages: Compact, Low cost carriers, easy road access

...Since the new terminal building was built at Bristol the airport has "taken-off". Excuse the pun. It is small enough to not be confusing and labyrinthine, and yet large enough to accommodate plenty of flights at a time and offer a good range of scheduled destinations. Easyjet, Flybe, Ryanair and some other low cost airlines operate from here. The long stay car parks are NOT located many miles away from the terminal which is the case for some of the larger UK airports. In my experience, check-in queues are minimal and there is also plenty of seats in the departure lounge to cater for even the busiest times. What Bristol does lack is a large range of shops and restaurants, but as a small airport, can't really accommodate the malls of the larger airports. Another minus is that there is no rail link to the airport, and is served instead... Read review
